Trainer Insurance Levy 2023-24 Information
Submissions for the 2023/24 financial year have now closed. RQ is pleased to announce that in October 2024, with just six months of the first year’s levy collection, approximately $730,000 was distributed to eligible trainers. This represents 80% of the levy collection pool, providing around 21% reimbursement of Trainer’s WorkCover premiums.
How do I become eligible for the Insurance Subsidy in 2025?
To be eligible for the Insurance Subsidy for the Workers Compensation Premium period 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, trainers must meet the following criteria:
- provide to RQ, proof of payment of the 2024/25 WCQ premium. Proof of payment is obtained from the WorkCover website Premium Details
- provide a full copy of the 2025/26 WCQ premium notice, detailing actual premium paid for the year 2024/25. This premium notice will be issued upon renewal of the WC policy for the 2025/26 financial year, issued around August each year.
- A renewed Letter of Authority in the approved format, to act on behalf of the trainer
- statutory declaration of truthfulness and accuracy. Click here to download a Statutory Declaration Form
- report all incidents and to lodge their incident reports to RQ.
- completion of any RQ WHS resources (e.g. induction, WHS training resources).
- provide this information before 30 September 2025.
