The Gold Coast Turf Club (GCTC) Tracks, Tunnel & Lights Project, a $70.5M co-funded initiative by the Queensland Government, Racing Queensland, and GCTC, has been completed.

The project critical to the Queensland racing industry, enhances GCTC's role as a premier metropolitan standard thoroughbred racing facility and its status as the host of the $10 million Magic Millions raceday.

The completed works include:

  • Installation of temporary fibres and a training track around the Course Proper;
  • A new 16m All-Weather Track;
  • Realigned and upgraded B Grass, Plough, and a new Ambulance Track;
  • A new equine tunnel for infield access;
  • Refurbishment of the Course Proper turf track;
  • Installation of broadcast lighting for night racing;
  • Ancillary works to maintain club operations during construction;
  • Installation of irrigation and sports turf drainage systems.
  • These upgrades ensure GCTC remains at the forefront of the racing industry.
