Toowoomba Turf Club’s jockey rooms underwent a significant upgrade through the Asset Management funding. The $840,000 project delivered enhanced facilities designed to meet the modern needs of jockeys and improve the overall race day experience.
Clifford Park now features brand-new quarters with separate male and female change facilities, each equipped with a spa, as well as a new common room with lounge seating, a kitchenette, TV monitors for race review and broadcast footage, washing and drying facilities, and a private medical treatment room. Previously undersized, the female jockey rooms received much-needed expansion.
Clifford Park, one of the state’s most frequented racing facilities, hosts nearly 50 race meetings annually, contributing $190 million to the Queensland economy. The Queensland racing industry’s contribution to the Toowoomba and Darling Downs economy grew by 13% in FY23, with over 1,400 full-time jobs in the region.
