Racing Queensland is excited to announce a Greyhound Country Cup Series aimed at showcasing the depth of talent which exists in the code across the state.
The series will culminate in a $9,500 final at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club (Albion Park) on January 25, following heats and semi-finals at Rockhampton and Townsville.
Greyhounds eligible to compete in the series must be domiciled north of Gympie (Postcode 4570), and have been so since October 25, 2017, or longer.
Racing Queensland Chief Executive Officer Dr Eliot Forbes said the series aimed to give participants the chance to share in the excitement of Group 3 Queensland Cup night at Albion Park.
“This series gives Racing Queensland the chance to further promote the talented industry participants and greyhounds we see race every week in regional areas,” he said.
“The series will be staged annually with intentions to hold the 2019 qualifiers at Bundaberg and Cairns.”
