Show trotting has once again been approved to be conducted as part of a big program of events at the 2018 Brisbane Show, which runs from Friday, August 10 through to Sunday, August 19.
Trotting will take place on each day of the show with a daily trotting Final to be held at approximately 6:15pm, shortly after the kids fireworks spectacular.
While we await full details of the schedule to be provided by the RNA it is likely that certain days of the show may have the one 6:15pm race only, however, we will be allocated afternoon Heats on selected days.
As soon as the details of the trotting schedule become available we will advise the industry and build the race program for the Ekka Show trotting.
To assist the RNA in organising the trotting at the show it is requested participants advise Racing Queensland by early to mid-June if you are considering competing and to organise, in advance, on-course accommodation for both horses and people who intend to stay on the grounds.
The stabling will be located in the same area as previous years.
Once again, all competing horses must be Hendra Virus vaccinated and have a microchip number to be eligible. Horse vaccinations must be current as listed on the Zoetis Vaccination Registry as at August 1, 2018.
Please organize the required Hendra vaccinations well in advance to ensure eligibility.
Further details regarding scheduling, entry requirements, passes etc. will be notified once more information comes to hand.
