RACE TWO

SLICE OF HEAVEN (3) should appreciate this class of race after taking on some handy performers in feature races across the carnival. He closed out strongly last start in the Patrons Purse to be within 10m of the winner OUR UNCLE SAM which followed a 4^th in the 4YO Championship. Too classy.

CALCAVADO (6) chalked up another minor placing last start when 2m from LONG ROAD TO FAME. That made it a top 3 finish in 28 of 34 starts here at Redcliffe and despite a wide gate he has versatility to call on.

MONIVAE (2) made a mid-race attack over the 2138m at AP 2 starts back which saw him then stranded in the breeze and fighting to the line. Only 7m from TED WEST on Sat night, he is in the mix.

PALE BEAR BOO (5) went too had in front and faded off at AP on Sat night in the race taken out by TED WEST. From the gate he can get into the contest early and can bounce back into the exotics.

RACE THREE

ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (2) will be 3^rd up from a break and should be approaching full fitness. His 2 return runs have been from wide gates that haven’t suited. With almost 12 months since his last victory, he probably won’t get another chance like this to cash-in and this looks his for the taking.

THE NEXT STAR (5) has the tricky gate but she is racing well in this grade. 2 starts back she hit the line in good style behind ROCKNROLL DUDE and then last start was luckless from this gate when stuck in traffic. Finding position without getting too far back is key to her chances.

DIXIE TRIX (10) was hitting the line in good style last start and was making good closing metres with inside runs. Placed in 2 of 4 since returning from a long break, she can be storming home again.

WANDERING ALLNIGHT (1) will be better suited with the cosy trip here and taking the inside runs can help his chances. His run 3 back at AP had merit and the gate helps his chances.

RACE FOUR

MAESTRO MAC (4) has been meeting stronger line-ups at Albion Park than what he faces here as he returns from a freshen. 3 starts back he was off the 2^nd line when chasing in a slick closing panel behind DARKERSHADEOFPALE and run into RUHTREBO at his next start. This looks to suit.

EVERY THINGS ROSEY (1) is sparingly raced but when she is right she would be up to a race like this with the advantage of the inside gate. She has been facing some wide gates in recent starts but with the good draw and the right run can be finishing hard.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (10) held on to score last start after taking them all the way from gate 1. Placed behind some handy fillies at his previous 2, he gets no favours from this alley.

ART SECRET (3) wasn’t suited last start once she was forced to work when not finding the pegs. The start prior she was 1^st to the pegs and was fighting to the line. She will be gripping on again.

RACE FIVE

GRIZZLY MONTANA (2) found the pocket trail from this gate 2 starts back and was able to get within a half-head of FAKEROCKNROLL. Not suited off gate 6 last start at AP when too far back in the run, he can land a handy position here and looks to get his chance.

IFYOUBELIEVE (5) was a good winner here 3 starts back when sent forward from gate 6 and able to force his way to the front. Once in control he held on to take them throughout. The gate makes it sticky but this is the type of line-up where he can land in the money.

HERES MY NUMBER (10) made the most of gate 1 here last week and using early speed was able to dictate. He has no favours from the 2^nd line but with some confidence from the win can be thereabouts.

HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (4) was buried in the run here 2 starts back and was hitting the line nicely when the gaps opened, Too far back last time he has podium claims.

RACE SIX

JANIES GOT A GUN (3) took the trail last start after finding the pegs and chased home to hold 3^rd behind MAMMALS MAGIC. His run 2 starts back was a strong effort when working in the breeze and only 2m from the IDES OF MARCH. She can fire the first shot here and look to dictate.

ARBIT MAJOR (2) was closing out strongly last start from the 2^nd line to grab the silver behind ARCACHON. His last run here on the triangle was 3 starts back when hitting the line in good style to grab 3^rd to DARBY BRIGHTS. He is right in the fight.

ARES (1) returned his best run for a while when closing out nicely to grab the bronze behind ARCACHON. With the benefit of a cosy trip he can chase home along the pegs to land in the money.

ITS ALL ABOUT ALICE (7) used the passing lane to score here 3 starts back and will again enjoy the cosy trip and be ready to issue a challenge when the gaps open.

RACE SEVEN

ARTFUL MAID (2) has been freshened and will find this more suitable than some of the strong line-up she has been meeting. 3 back she was off the 2^nd line when down the line behind THE HARLEM HAMMER and took on the 4YO Mares Triad behind ELENIARK at her next run. This looks to suit.

NOVENA ROSE (5) is racing in nice touch and last start after being crossed early angled away from the pegs and raced tough when 3m from MAMMALS MAGIC. Too good in the closing stages over the 2138m 2 starts back, she will be finishing hard again in this.

BACK PAGE NEWS (8) will strip fitter following his return from a break. Holding the front off gate 1 he couldn’t hold off the finishing sprint of NERIO who was camped on his back. He can enjoy a nice trail and has claims.

IM NORMA JEAN (3) returns from a break and with no trial may just need a run or two to sharpen up.  She has struggled to reclaim her best this season, yet her record keeps her under notice.

RACE EIGHT

THE IDES OF MARCH (3) looked flat at his return when well beaten behind the impressive TOM ME GUN. He bounced back with a 2m victory over the AP mile when closing out nicely after a wide run. Still not sold if he is back to his best, he will be fitter again and gets his chance.

GREGS LEGACY (1) was buried from an inside 2^nd line gate last time out and held ground to the line behind THE IDES OF MARCH. He hit the line in good order 3 starts back behind BEAU CISHLOM. His last win came when leading all the way from gate 5 and from the one-hole can look to capitalise.

IM FREE FALLING (2) pressed on to find the front off gate 2 here 3  starts back and once in control was never in danger. His latest run was a tidy effort behind REDBANK ADDI and he can go close here.

COURAGEOUS LEO (10) will need some factors to go his way from this gate but if the tempo is solid he can be one runner working into it strongly. Beaten a head in consecutive runs, he worked too hard last time.

RACE NINE

A tricky little final to line-up here with the heats conducted in their same sex before coming together for the final on Friday that was then declared a no race after a fall at the first turn and now takes its place on this card.

Leaning into STYLISH FEELING (3) who was a real eye-catcher 2 starts back when storming home into 2^nd and followed that with a nice finishing spurt in her heat behind the clear out winner. From an improved gate she can settle closer and issue the challenge.

ILL BE A LADY (1) won the heat where STYLISH FEELING was storming home in after she was able to press on to the front from gate 3 and after a steady opening half had plenty in reserve to cruise home to a 13m victory. Fitter again now that she has had 3 runs back from a long break, she is right in this.

SONNY SAVEAO (9) missed the chance to be behind the leader in the heat in what was a scratchy start. That saw him buried 3 back and angled off the pegs at the 600m tracked home nicely. Fitter for the run, he is in the mix.

VANTO HANOVER (5) shoots for a hat-trick of victories after 2 tidy victories here on the triangle. Her heat win was a strong effort from the breeze after hitting the front at the 300m and holding on for the win.
