Tyzone has been primed for a first-up tilt at the Listed Keith Noud Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on November 17 with two barrier trials.
Stable spokesman Trent Edmonds said the sprinter had been a revelation since joining the team and couldn’t be better ahead of his first summer carnival assault.
“He’s a good horse,” Edmonds said.
“We’ll aim to run first-up in the Keith Noud and then target the Crowns. It would be great to get a stakes win with him this time around.”
Sprinters can claim the $400,000 TAB Summer Crown bonus by winning any three of five nominated races; The George Moore Stakes (December 1), Lough Neagh Stakes (December 15), The Buffering (December 29), The Magic Millions Cup (January 12) or the MM Snippets Sprint (December 29).
Edmonds said the stable would also look to target the $500,000 2YO and 3YO Crowns with a host of runners set to begin or continue their journey at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
2K Thoroughbreds two-year-olds Betaima ($2.80) and Champagne Jet ($12) look set to test their credentials in the QTIS 2YO Handicap (Race 2) prior to the Sizzling Plate on December 1.
“We’ve also entered Champagne Jet in the 2YO Maiden (Race 1) at the Gold Coast,” Edmonds said.
“Betaima won well last start but will have to step up again to take on Saturday company.”
Three-year-old Usmanov holds the second line of betting in the QTIS 3YO Handicap (Race 8) behind unbeaten David Vandyke-trained filly, Hold The Line.
Edmonds said Al Maher gelding Viral would also be aimed at the 3YO series, after winning his only start as a two-year-old at the Gold Coast in May.
