Boomsara is making a beeline towards the $2 Million dollar Magic Millions three-year-old Guineas after a blistering win in the Group Three Vo Rouge Plate, streaking away by four lengths in a top to tail victory.
Jockey Damian Browne took the Chris Munce trained gelding to the front at what looked a fast tempo, but the three-year-old didn’t take the foot off the pedal breaking their hearts in the straight.
Munce said he knew the gelding was in good order coming off a one length second to the unbeaten Zoustyle but couldn’t have predicted a win in such dominant fashion.
“I came here today knowing that I had him in just about tip top shape, with a little bit up the sleeve for the Magic Millions,” he said.
“To see him do that when I still think there’s improvement in the horse it’s a huge thrill for myself and the owners.”
“We’ll head straight for the Magic Millions Three-Year-Old Guineas, which he’s cherry ripe for.”
Damian Browne rode the gelding positively from gate twelve, having to work hard to find the front.
Despite working across Munce said he was confident in the horses ability.
“I wasn’t too nervous with the petrol he had to spend to get over,” he said
“He’s a horse that has the ability to sustain a long run and still find a sprint.”
“Any way you look at it, it’s a tough win, he did it at both ends and was going away from them.”
Munce said he wasn’t looking too far past The Magic Millions but thought the horse would only reach greater heights this prep.
“I’ve always thought we can get him to the mile and today only affirms that,” he said.
“We’ll see how he comes through the Magic Millions and assess where we go from there.”
“He’s such a laid back and relaxed horse at home, I’m just rapt to have him as part of the stable!
