RACE TWO
MY ULTIMATE JOE (6) has been in the money at 3 of his 5 appearances this season with the latest a 2nd behind GOTOTHEMOON after working home from back in the pack in good order. His run 2 starts back over the AP 2138m was a top run when beaten a neck behind MONTANA CHIEF and this looks winnable. FUTURE FUN (3) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts here over the sprint trip. Last start from the 2nd line he was sent forward in the early stages to find the breeze and he fought hard to finish 6m from the winner LITTLE BOLT. He can take an early shot from the gate and will challenge. SAINT KILDA BEACH (5) returned to start her 3YO term the best way possible when using the passing lane to arrive for the prize. Fitter for her return, she has podium claims despite the tricky alley. PARKLANE LASS (2) has good early speed and from gate 2 can look to pounce on the pegs. Buried away last start from an inside 2nd line gate, she will be thereabouts with the good gate. SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE JOE (6), FUTURE FUN (3), SAINT KILDA BEACH (5), PARKLANE LASS (2) SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE JOE (6) to win
RACE THREE
MONTEREY JACK (1) broke through for his 1st Qld victory last start when finding his race and finishing beast from back in the pack after starting from a 2nd line gate. He has been racing some handy performers and not far away and with the options from the gate can go back-to-back. MICKEE CULLEN (5) was angled to the pegs looking for short-cuts here 2 starts back after starting from the 2nd line and couldn’t get into the contest in the closing stages. Sent forward early last start he finished best along the passing lane to score. Fitter, he is in the mix despite the wide gate. ROCKNROLL PROMISE (2) started a red figure fav last start from the 2nd line and was soon sent forward to find the breeze. Fighting gamely, he couldn’t see it out when holding on for 2nd and can repeat. ELZBOY (3) met a much stronger line-up last start when finishing mid-field behind BLINGITTOTHEMAX. With the right run in transit, this isn’t beyond him. SELECTIONS: MONTEREY JACK (1), MICKEE CULLEN (5), ROCKNROLL PROMISE (2), ELZBOY (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR RAINBOW ATOMIC (2) has been transferred to the Gary Vernon stable and will step out in Qld for the 1st time. Last seen at Newcastle back in Sep, he was 1st up in his 4YO term when finishing mid-field and was sent for another break. While he hasn’t done much to date, he has done enough to suggest he can go close in this. KIWI SOLDIER (7) had the speed to lead from gate 1 here last week before releasing and enjoying a cosy run in transit. Using the passing lane, he finished best to claim a 1.5m victory. With another soft trip on offer he, will be coiled an ready to take the snipers shot. THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (1) lands the gate and the opponents to be a big danger here. Not suited from gate 6 last start in a much stronger field, she will be in the thick of it from the ace. WHATELEY (8) opted for the pocket trail off gate 1 last start and then sprinted up the passing lane to arrive for a head margin in his favour. With the confidence of the maiden breaking win he is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: RAINBOW ATOMIC (2), KIWI SOLDIER (7), THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (1), WHATELEY (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-7-8
RACE FIVE
DESTINY WARRIOR (1) was snagged back from gate 6 last start and was too far back to challenge with the winner controlling the race from the front. Forced to work home from back in the pack in all 3 runs since arriving in Qld, he can look to capitalise on the improved gate and gets his chance. ONLY ONE PROMISE (5) didn’t receive the cleanest passage last start when locked away on the pegs yet was strong to the line in the latter stages. Forced to face the breeze 2 starts back he was game to the line behind GOLDEN YEAR and despite a tricky gate he can look to challenge. FEEL THE REIGN (6) has been a consistent performer since resuming from a spell that has seen him finish in the money at 13 of 15 appearances, with 4 of those victories. Only beaten a half-neck last start he can’t be ignored. JUMPING JOLT (2) was working home wide off the track in good fashion last start when finishing 8m from the winner MACHEASY. With the right run in transit he will be right in the fight. SELECTIONS: DESTINY WARRIOR (1), ONLY ONE PROMISE (5), FEEL THE REIGN (6), JUMPING JOLT (2) SUGGESTED BET: DESTINY WARRIOR (1) to win
RACE SIX DONNY JONES (1) set the speed last start from gate 1 at Marburg and after slick 3rd stanza, he couldn’t see it out and was grabbed on the line. That was his best return for some time and also the 1st time he has been able to lead since his last win back in December of 2017. Lighting the lamps he can go close. JAX NAVARO (6) had a dip for the front last start but when coming up short was forced to work in the breeze and after getting keen in the run, faded late. He faces another wide gate after copping his share of tough alley’s in recent starts yet still looms as a danger despite the car-park draw. SHERIFF JUJON (9) was looking to take them all the way from gate 1 over the 2040m here 2 starts back but couldn’t see it out and faded off. A winner here 5 starts back he can close out late here to podium. TELL THE FUTURE (4) rolled forward to the breeze last start and in a strong closing 800m just couldn’t hang on. Only beaten a half-neck 3 starts back, with a steady middle section she can feature.
SELECTIONS: DONNY JONES (1), JAX NAVARO (6), SHERIFF JUJON (9), TELL THE FUTURE (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
ELMAUR JOY (1) went to the front here 2 starts back over the 2280m trip and looked to take them all the way when grabbed in the closing stages. After having an early look last start, she was snagged back and never in the hunt. Protecting the pegs, she looks to get her chance to go all the way. RUHTREBO (9) will be fitter again after 2 runs back from a break. He has met stronger opponents in both runs since resuming, striking LINCOLN ROAD and then BLINGITTOTHEMAX when finishing well-beaten in each. With the right cart into the contest he can throw down a big challenge. JUSTA DALE (7) started from the 2nd line last start and never saw the cleanest passage yet was probing for gaps and was within 2m of the winner. With a cosy trip he will be ready to strike. HEZ RAZOR SHARP (5) has landed 2nd line gates at his past 2 starts but still hasn’t been too far away from them. He lands another tough gate but if there is some early tempo he can close late. SELECTIONS: ELMAUR JOY (1), RUHTREBO (9), JUSTA DALE (7), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (5) SUGGESTED BET: ELMAUR JOY (1) to win
RACE EIGHT TRAIN WRECK (7) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon buried away in the run. Making the most of the passing lane when it presented, he sprinted sharply to arrive in time to score a half-head victory. He will need some luck again but can be ready for the snipers shot up the lane again. FAKEROCKNROLL (3) started from gate 6 last start at Tamworth and worked hard to get within a neck of victory. Only beaten a head at the same track 3 starts back, a hard-working mid-field finish here at Redcliffe was in-between his NSW appearances and he can ask some questions here. GOTOTHEMOON (5) goes in search of a hat-trick after successive wins over the 1780m trip. Too strong from the breeze from this same gate last start, he looks set to work in the run again yet will be in for the fight. ZED CODE (9) worked home strongly from gate 9 here 2 starts back over the 2040m and was within 2m of the winner GOLDEN YEAR. If there is too much early pressure she will come right into contention.
SELECTIONS: TRAIN WRECK (7), FAKEROCKNROLL (3), GOTOTHEMOON (5), ZED CODE (9) SUGGESTED BET: ZED CODE (9) each-way
