Racing Queensland confirms that following an inspection of the track at Ipswich TC, the race meeting scheduled for today, Friday 22 February, has been postponed and will now be run on Monday 25 February.
The decision to postpone the meeting was made following concerns by QRIC stewards and a delegation of senior riders that a section of the track approaching the home turn was deemed unsuitable for racing on.
The rescheduled race meeting will comprise the same fields as today’s postponed meeting and scratchings will be reinstated.
RQ also confirms that under the auspices of its Abandoned Race Meeting Policy, compensation will be payable to trainers with horses engaged at the race meeting. Riders with commitments at the postponed meeting will also be compensated in accordance with the same policy.
