Racing Queensland has advised that today’s scheduled meeting at Albion Park Harness Racing Club will proceed with walk-up starts.
Yesterday, QRIC stewards made the decision to abandon races 8 and 9 at Albion Park citing ‘safety concerns’ including whether RQ’s mobile barrier vehicles were registered correctly with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
While the vehicles are registered with TMR, Queensland Police has asked for further information which will be compiled in the coming days.
As a result, walk-up starts will be conducted at Albion Park tonight and until further notice.
A stewards’ briefing for participants will be conducted this afternoon in the Albion Park grandstand at 4.15pm.
