RACE TWO
JUST TOMMY (9) made the most of gate 1 last start when taking control early over the 2040m trip. Dictating terms from the front he was able to get home in a tidy closing 800m panel to claim his 2nd career victory. The gate hurts somewhat here, but with the win confidence he can go back-to-back. PHOTOZEN (7) will need a slice of luck from this alley but with the right run can be probing for the gaps to be swooping home late. Last start at AP he worked home well to grab the silver behind GOODTIME STRIDE and the start prior was 4m from JUST TOMMY. Just needs the gaps in time. GHOST GUM (1) will be 3rd up from a break and has started fav at both runs since resuming. Only beaten a half-head when resuming he was forced to breeze last start. From the gate he can go close. SLIPPERY JADE (8) will strip fitter from her latest start when resuming from a break. Securing the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line she held on for 3rd. With the right run in transit she can chime in. SELECTIONS: JUST TOMMY (9), PHOTOZEN (7), GHOST GUM (1), SLIPPERY JADE (8) SUGGESTED BET: JUST TOMMY (9) to win
RACE THREE
TOO GOOD FOR YOU (9) had to roll the sleeves last start over the 2280m trip and was in for the fight when fading in the closing stages behind PROJECTILE. Too strong from the 2nd line over the 2160m the start prior at Narrabri, he looks set to do some work at some stage but can overcome it to score. FUTURE FUN (3) started from this same gate 2 starts back and sent to the front was able to dictate and run home a strong closing 800m panel to score. Not suited when locked away from the 2nd line last start at Marburg, he can get to the pegs here and look to capitalise. MISS CATALINA (1) closed out strongly from the 2nd line to claim a Narrabri victory 2 starts back and then here over the sprint trip wasn’t suited when snagged back from gate 5. The gate is a big plus. MICKEE CULLEN (7) was buried away in the run last start from this same gate and weaving a passage he arrived on the line to claim a stylish victory. With the right luck in transit he will swoop hard. SELECTIONS: TOO GOOD FOR YOU (9), FUTURE FUN (3), MISS CATALINA (1), MICKEE CULLEN (7) SUGGESTED BET: TOO GOOD FOR YOU (9) to win
RACE FOUR ITSADANCEOFF (1) was able to turn it all around last time out when making the most of his chances from gate 1 at Marburg and taking them all the way. Setting a strong tempo over the 2200m trip he held on to claim a 5m victory and with the speed to lead here can look to dictate for successive wins. RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5) made a mess of the start in the Goldstrike heats last time out and ended his chances. The start prior was a tidy effort when only 6m from the talented TROJAN BANNER and despite a tricky gate here he can look to offer a challenge. ELMS CREEK (6) was too tough from the breeze here 2 starts back when circling early to get forward from a 2nd line gate. Not far from NEWMERELLA SHARKIE at Marburg last start, he is in the mix. CLASSIE AMERICAN (10) will be 2nd up in Aus but has not been seen since Mar 9 when 1st up and well beaten. An 8-time winner, with a big question mark next to his name he stays under notice.
SELECTIONS: ITSADANCEOFF (1), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5), ELMS CREEK (6), CLASSIE AMERICAN (10) SUGGESTED BET: ITSADANCEOFF (1) to win
RACE FIVE
MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (6) has the wide gate to negotiate but he might have enough of a class edge to overcome the impediment. Grabbed in the last strides at Armidale 3 starts back he then placed in both the heat and final of the Marburg Goldstrike behind ESCALERA on each occasion. This looks his. AT RANDOM (1) had been warming up to something after some tidy runs and was best of the chasers behind the massive winner UNCLE JORD 2 starts back. Making the most of conditions over this trip last start he took them all the way. with the options from the gate he can go close. IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (3) was a winner 3 starts back when finishing best from gate 5 to claim a restricted event at AP in a career best rate. Placed here in 2 starts since, she will be right in the fight. ALOT OF COST (7) made the most of gate 1 last time out and spearing to the front was never in danger to score by a healthy 14m margin. With a strong Redcliffe record he just needs some luck. SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (6), AT RANDOM (1), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (3), ALOT OF COST (7) SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (6) to win
RACE SIX BROADWATER (3) was locked away on the pegs last start from a 2nd line gate over this trip and never saw space to offer a challenge. 2 starts back he was also locked away after starting from inside the 2nd line. With the ability to work if required, he can handle the trip and can look to cash-in. THERESACHANCE (1) did plenty of work in the run last start when cutting the breeze over the 1780m in a slick trip which took its toll. His run 2 starts back saw him collared in the closing stages after leading them up in a solid tempo and only grabbed in the closing stages. The distance is the query. VINTAGE DREAM (4) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start and saved for the closing shot had too many bullets up the passing lane. That made it wins at 2 of her past 3 and this is within reach. STEVIE DEE (5) used the passing lane last start to close out hard and grab the silver behind DRIVE THE DREAM. Not suited when burning in the run 2 starts back, she can be swooping late.
SELECTIONS: BROADWATER (3), THERESACHANCE (1), VINTAGE DREAM (4), STEVIE DEE (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
MONTEREY JACK (9) made the most of gate 3 last start when able to pounce on the pegs and take them all the way to score an easy victory and post a big 16m margin. His effort 3 starts back as the fav at AP was solid when under 4m from the winner in a blanket finish and he is up to the task here. INCITER (4) worked to the front last start at his favourite track of Marburg and once in control looked to have the race in the bag until he was grabbed in the closing stages. Only 5m from the winner JUST TOMMY after working in the breeze 2 starts back, he will give this a big shake. WAVEDANCER (8) started fav last start from gate 5 and after snagging back early, then came wide to the breeze before wilting late. If able to limit the burn he can feature against these opponents. MISS ROB ROY (1) resumes from a spell and is drawn to get a cosy trip 1st up. Meeting stronger opponents than she faces here when last in work, she has podium claims from the gate. SELECTIONS: MONTEREY JACK (9), INCITER (4), WAVEDANCER (8), MISS ROB ROY (1) SUGGESTED BET: MONTEREY JACK (9) to win
RACE EIGHT KYLIE BROMAC (3) held the pocket trail 2 starts back from inside the 2nd line and held on for the silver behind SAINT KILDA BEACH. Angled to the pegs for a soft trip last start she was facing a task with a strong closing tempo from the front. With her best gate in some time she can capitalise. MAJORESS JUJON (2) will take good benefit from her latest start when 2nd up from a freshen. Locked away against the markers from a 2nd line gate she never really got a crack at them. Not suited when unable to find position from gate 6 the starts prior, the improved gate can see her in a good spot. WHATA STRIDE (5) will take great confidence from her win here last time out to open her win account at start 43. She had been racing well leading into that and can look to build on it here. WILD ABOUT TOWN (1) held the pocket trail from this gate last start and chased home for the silver behind TAXI METER. Effective with a coy trip, he will get that here and be chiming in late.
SELECTIONS: KYLIE BROMAC (3), MAJORESS JUJON (2), WHATA STRIDE (5), WILD ABOUT TOWN (1) SUGGESTED BET: KYLIE BROMAC (3) to win
