RACE TWO
DEVOUGED (9) pounced on the pegs from gate 1 here last week and once in control never looked in danger when claiming a comfortable 8m victory, ripping home in a sharp 27.5. That followed a tough 1st up run in Qld when 2nd from the breeze and with this no harder he can go back-to-back. CALL ME TRISH (2) has placed at her past 5 in succession as she continues to hone her manners and race-craft. Snagging back early last start she found the line in good order to grab the silver and returning to the main draw, should appreciate racing on the more spacious AP surface. THE RAGNBONE MAN (1) continues to search for an elusive victory and lands the options from the ace here. Only 6m from the winner GRIIZZLY MONTANA last run from the trail, he is in the mix again. ZARAS ALL SMILES (8) looked to take them all the way last start as an even money fav but couldn’t see it out, fading in the closing stages to be 3m from the winner. With a soft trip she can place here. SELECTIONS: DEVOUGED (9), CALL ME TRISH (2), THE RAGNBONE MAN (1), ZARAS ALL SMILES (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE
SIXPENNY RED (6) was wide off the track last start after being sent forward from the 2nd line and the effort was sound when mid-field behind LINCOLNS GIRL. The start prior from gate 11, she was angled to the pegs looking for luck when only beaten 2m. Freshened, she is worth a chance here. POINT OH FIVE (7) rolled forward from gate 3 last start and was able to take control over the Redcliffe 1780m trip. Setting an even tempo, he held on to claim victory by a head. That followed a tidy 2nd after being buried in the run and despite the tricky gate, can issue a challenge in this. MUCHO GUAPA (1) opened her account with a maiden breaking win 2 starts back when using the passing lane to score. Finding the line in good order from a long way back last start, the gate helps. DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (3) is yet to claim a top-3 in 4 appearances at AP, however those 4 outings have seen her no closer than gate 5 on each occasion. With an improved gate, she is in the mix here. SELECTIONS: SIXPENNY RED (6), POINT OH FIVE (7), MUCHO GUAPA (1), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (3) SUGGESTED BET: SIXPENNY RED (6) to win
RACE FOUR RORY MACH (9) will be better suited here returning to claiming company after finishing down the line last time out from the tapes at Marburg. Starting from gate 6 at Redcliffe 2 starts back, he was sent forward and found the front before being grabbed in the closing stages. He can swoop home. ONE WISE MAN (7) set a slick tempo in front last start over the mile but couldn’t hold off the challenge of EPIRUS BOY who packed too many guns in the stretch. That followed a 2nd at Redcliffe when trying to pick them up late. The gate hurts but he can go close once again. JAX NAVARO (6) steps out in claiming company for the 1st time following a disappointing effort last start over the 2138m trip. He did his share of work 2 starts back and limiting the work can place. EPIRUS BOY (3) secured the perfect trip last start and given open road in the stretch finished best to take the prize. 3rd at Redcliffe from the pocket trail 2 starts back, he has podium hopes here.
SELECTIONS: RORY MACH (9), ONE WISE MAN (7), JAX NAVARO (6), EPIRUS BOY (3) SUGGESTED BET: RORY MACH (9) to win
RACE FIVE
MORROCH BAY (9) was injected into the race at the right time last start and he was able to force clear to claim a 5m victory and land his 1st win beyond the mile. His previous 2 runs at Redcliffe saw him not ideally suited and with some good early speed here, he can replicate the win. ARBIT MAJOR (3) settled in the 1x1 trail after starting from the 2nd line last start and was trying to pick them up late when finishing 8m from the winner. Not suited when racing wide off the track the start prior, with the right run from this gate, will be hoping to break his AP duck at attempt 26. OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8) was buried in the run and exploded into space once the gap arrived to claim victory here last start. He met a much stronger line-up the start prior and with luck can arrive again. SHERIFF JUJON (4) pressed on to face the breeze from gate 4 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start when finishing mid-field. He struck trouble the start prior and if limiting the early burn can challenge. SELECTIONS: MORROCH BAY (9), ARBIT MAJOR (3), OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8), SHERIFF JUJON (4) SUGGESTED BET: MORROCH BAY (9) to win
RACE SIX STEVIE DEE (4) was working home wide off the track at Marburg last start and was strong to the line when only 5m from the winner. 2 starts back she had a shot for the front over the 2138m before retreating. With early speed she can settle forward and that looks her chance to capitalise here. RUATO BAY (8) angled to the pegs last start from the 2nd line to look for the short-cuts when charging late to get within 5m of the winner and claim the silver. A beaten fav in a 2nd division qualifier here 2 starts back after being buried in the run, he can swoop hard in this. OUR BONDI BEACH (7) started fav in a qualifier over the mile last start from gate 1. Content to take the trail he went within a head of victory up the passing lane. The gate hurts but he can feature. LETHAL STAR (5) is on the back-up from Tues where she was facing a tough ask from gate 7. The start prior in a mares qualifier saw her hit the line nicely and she is getting closer to a win.
SELECTIONS: STEVIE DEE (4), RUATO BAY (8), OUR BONDI BEACH (7), LETHAL STAR (5) SUGGESTED BET: STEVIE DEE (4) to win
RACE SEVEN
GETINANHANGON (6) was a winner at Marburg on Monday, returning a smart performance. Horses can very rarely win on the tight track from back in the pack where he was positioned, yet he kept charging along the pegs to arrive in time. Despite the gate this well within reach. TAFFY BOY (12) is in nice touch with a top-three in 3 of his past 5 appearances. Rolling forward from the 2nd line to take control over the Redcliffe sprint trip 3 starts back, he wasn’t suited at his following 2 outings. Only beaten a neck last start, he can work into this to podium. HAMMERHOFF (2) found them a bit sharp last start after having an early look for the front. Not suited in the breeze 2 starts back, he can make the most of gate 1 and will be gripping on. TASCOTT LADY (11) added another placing to her tally last start at Marburg when fighting hard from the breeze to claim the bronze. She faces a tough gate but is never far from the action and can place. SELECTIONS: GETINANHANGON (6), TAFFY BOY (12), HAMMERHOFF (2), TASCOTT LADY (11) SUGGESTED BET: GETINANHANGON (6) to win
RACE EIGHT GOALKICKER (1) has been well placed and lines up here after a hat-trick of victories. Taking on stand-start conditions at Marburg on Mon, she went straight to the front and once in control cruised home to claim a 13m victory. With the speed to lead, she can look to dictate and will be fighting hard. CLASSIE AMERICAN (7) has started twice since arriving in Aus, with those 2 starts being well-spaced. Too far back when 1st up, his 2nd run was a nice effort from the 2nd line at Redcliffe. Leading them up 3-wide, he chased gamely to get within a head of victory in some smart closing panels. He is a threat. MONTANA CHIEF (4) resumes from a spell and has been to the trials to prepare for the return. Closing out nicely from back in the pack at his last start prior to the spell, he has podium claims here. DOOLITTLE DANDY (8) was a Redcliffe winner 2 starts back when rolling forward from gate 5 and hanging tough from the breeze to score. Not far away last start, he will get a cosy trip here.
SELECTIONS: GOALKICKER (1), CLASSIE AMERICAN (7), MONTANA CHIEF (4), DOOLITTLE DANDY (8) SUGGESTED BET: GOALKICKER (1) to win
RACE NINE ULTIMATE AD (2) took on the 4YO Triad Final 2 starts back and after landing gate 7 snagged back early to look for luck. The run was a sound effort and then last start he was too far back with the last panel making it tough for the chasers. Better from the front, he is worth a ticket in an open contest. OUR PEPPERJACK (9) settled in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start when taking full use of the passing lane to arrive for the prize in a career best win rate. His form this prep has been solid with the win a good reward following placings in 4 of his previous 5 starts. He can challenge here. TOPNOTCH MACH (11) might just appreciate the bigger track after racing at Redcliffe and Marburg predominantly since arriving in Qld. Chasing home from back in the pack his past 2, he can place. SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (8) caught the eye last start after snagging back from gate 6 before finishing off in good order when 7m from the winner. He will need some luck, but can’t be ignored.
SELECTIONS: ULTIMATE AD (2), OUR PEPPERJACK (9), TOPNOTCH MACH (11), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (8) SUGGESTED BET:
