Trainer - Daniel Bowen

"The plan was to try to pick out a few races for her at the back of the carnival and build her profile, nice to put two on end today."

"She's a funny horse once she hits the front she sits up and looks and I think it gave Matthew (McGuren) a bit of a shock when the second horse kicked back."

"There is a fillies and mares race over 1800 metres at The Sunshine Coast in two weeks which looks like it'll suit."

"The long term goal is to get to the Kosciuszko with some residual fitness dropping back to the 1200 metres.

Jockey Matthew McGuren

"I Probably got one pair further back than I would have liked there was not much speed in the race, but I was able to pull her out three wide and get clear running when it mattered."

"She's got a good turn of foot for a mile horse and put them away pretty quickly."

RACE 2 - QTIS 2YO HANDICAP (1100M)

1st – Jeweliana – Steven O’Dea – Matthew McGillivray

2nd – Sugar Boom – Tony Gollan – Jim Byrne

3rd – Karaja – Matthew Dunn – Robbie Fradd

Trainer – Steven O’Dea

"No real plans going forward with her I think we won't see her best till she's three of four."

"She'll certainly get over more ground, she’s out of Bianca’s Jewel who was a miler so that may be in her future.”

Jockey Matthew McGillivray

“That was a really good effort to win today, Ipswich probably isn’t her ideal track with the tight turns she wobbled a bit coming into the straight, but I expected her to buckle down like she did.”

“We got to a nice spot three pairs back the fence, I was just held up a little coming to the turn but managed to find clear running and that was a powerful last hundred metres.”

Trainer - Chris Munce

“She’s always had ability it’s just taken a little while for the penny to drop in her races but getting Sean (Cormack) on has been great he’s given her a good ride every time.”

“She’s found another level in her last four starts and that was a huge step up running a place in the Helen Coughlan.”

“We’ll take her down to Grafton now for the Ramornie, with her win today that should get her in.”

Jockey - Sean Cormack

“He’s a tough horse that horse in front (Ef Troop) he doesn’t lay down easily, but once she got to him it was a matter of finishing it off.”

“He’s been giving me a fair bit of credit for her turnaround Muncey (Chris Munce), but I think I might have just got on the right horse at the right time.”

“She’s flying at the moment and we’re heading to Grafton next to hopefully keep the roll going.”

Jockey - Matthew McGillivray

“The tempo was good, I thought the race was really well suited to her.”

“That combination of a little bit of speed and not getting too far back and cluttered up worked a treat today.”

“She’s been a little unlucky with gates and getting too far back and she’s been rattling home.”

“If she can sit three pairs back and sprint like she did today she’ll win a lot more races.”

Trainer – Desleigh Forster

“It’s lovely to win with this horse, I’ve got a big group of happy owners and I don’t think he’s really hit his straps yet, give him another six months.”

“The plan was always to take off, we had been riding him out of the gates, but today we took the sit and used his fitness.”

“Great to have Jimmy (Byrne) back on board, he rode her a treat and I’m stoked to give him his first winner back.”

“We may push on to the Tatts Cup depending on how he pulls up, it’s been a long prep.”

Jockey – Jim Byrne

“There was a lot of jockeying early on which he didn’t really appreciate, but I got him in that nice rhythm and travelled well.”

“At this stage of his prep he’s a real dour stayer, Des (Desleigh Forster) has done a great job of keeping him up this long and that’s why I took off when I did.”

“Riding a 2500 metre race takes it out of you when you’re fit, coming back from the shoulder I’m buggered but glad to be on the board.”

Jockey - Matthew McGillivray

“I spoke to Matty (Kropp) earlier today and he said lead at all costs, that’s the way she wins and even if you burn some petrol make sure you get there.”

“We had to work but she got there without too much effort and gee I was surprised she had enough in the tank to finish it off after the pace was on early.”

“She’s a really professional little filly I think that’s her fourth win this prep, which is a big effort as a three-year-old.”

“I’m just enjoying life at the moment and I think that’s crossing over into my riding, nice to get a treble.”

“My personal best is four in the city on Saturday and I’ve got two rides left, so maybe today is the day.”

Trainer – Steve Tregea

“I am thrilled, probably more for Michael (Murphy) than myself he rode him beautifully!”

“I said one thing to him I thought you could probably lead at the post the first time, but don’t lead all the way and that’s what he did.”

“You could see on the corner he was going to be in the finish and that’s a credit to the ride.”

“Coming to the furlong I saw him putting in the big strides and knew he was coming over the top of them, he’s a stable favourite and it’s always great to see him win.”

“I like to stick with the same riders when I can, I’ve had a good working relationship with Michael and I’m glad it panned out for both of us today.”

“The Rockhampton Cup was the plan with him but now he’s won this I’m not sure what weight he will get.”

Jockey – Michael Murphy

“He’s always backed me in Steve (Tregea), whether it be a maiden at Beaudesert or an Ipswich Cup like today I owe him a lot.”

Trainer – Daniel Morton

“It’s not the race we came for but it’s a good consolation prize that’s for sure.”

“I’ve never raced at Ipswich, I’m one from one so it’s a happy hunting ground.”

“He looked like he was in the sweet spot in running, where we hadn’t quite been able to get to in the big ones, but he showed his class today.”

“I think I’ll take him home now and give me a spell in the paddock and bring him back for the summer carnival in Perth.”

Jockey – Blake Shinn

“I know Dan had really big wraps on this horse for the three Group One’s without things panning out, so I was happy to jump on.”

“We travelled sweetly the trip and he found plenty when challenged late.”
