RACE TWO
IM TOOT (8) was soon locked away against the pegs from gate 1 here last start and chased them home to finish mid-field behind TIN ROOF RAIDER. A nice winner at Marburg the start prior, he can hustle to protect the trail here and be coiled for the closing shot in the stretch. MO JARNEY (1) made the most of finding the front at Redcliffe 3 starts bk and once in control fought them all off to claim victory by a head. Not too far from BROADWATER at his next run, he held on for the bronze last time out. From the gate he will get his chance to look for an all-the-way victory. GUTS (4) was locked away against the markers last start and never found his way into the contest. His last run at AP saw him in the trail when 2nd to CAPTAIN THUNDEBOLT and he has claims in this. LUCKY LYLA (6) is on the back-up from Friday and despite some poor numbers, she has been racing stronger types than she will meet here. A tough 3rd in a mares qualifier 5 back, she can chime in. SELECTIONS: IM TOOT (8), MO JARNEY (1), GUTS (4), LUCKY LYLA (6) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-8
RACE THREE
A typically tricky claimer to line-up and this for the cheaper $3,000-$5,000 bracket might just be enough for JAX NAVARO (5) to find his way back into winning form. Fitter after 2 runs back from a break, he hasn’t been far away against the stronger types, including 8m from CASINO TOMMY last time. CROWNING GLORY (7) made the most of conditions at Marburg last start when pouncing on the poles from gate 3 and cruising home to score a 9m victory after keeping the speed on throughout. Gate 7 will make it harder for him here, but this still looks to be within reach. KARLOO MAC (4) found the front early before releasing the speed last start and just found the tempo too hot over the 2138m. Back to the mile suits and against this field he can be thereabouts. WILL BE DOC (1) worked home in good order from back in the pack when 3rd to CROWNING GLORY at Marburg. As with KARLOO MAC he found the tempo and 2138m too much last start and from this gate can chime in.
SELECTIONS: JAX NAVARO (5), CROWNING GLORY (7), KARLOO MAC (4), WILL BE DOC (1) SUGGESTED BET: JAX NAVARO (5) to win
RACE FOUR THE DOORMAN (8) makes his Aus debut and will be 1st up from a spell. Arriving to join the Goadsby/Jones team, he has since changed barns and will step out for Steve Cini. A winner of 3 races in NZ, his trial here was a tidy effort, sprinting a slick last 400m. This looks an ideal starting point. THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (5) hustled through to lead them up from gate 1 at Redcliffe last start and looking to have kicked clear to a winning margin in the stretch, was nabbed by OUR DOUG. Not far from GOALKICKER the start prior, she has the experience edge over a few of these and has claims. OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (4) is only a 2YO taking on the older horses here and arrives with 2 wins in her 7 career starts. Too strong in the breeze at Redcliffe 2 starts back, she can be in the mix here. RUM AND SCHOTZ (2) couldn’t find position last start and after being wide was then forced to snag back. Locked on the pegs 2 starts back, he can settle in a handy position here and won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: THE DOORMAN (8), THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (5), OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (4), RUM AND SCHOTZ (2) SUGGESTED BET: THE DOORMAN (8) to win
RACE FIVE
INDYS APPROVAL (11) has the tough gate to negotiate here as she shoots for a hat-trick, but there has been plenty to like about her Redcliffe form with 3 wins in her past 5. The average margin in those 3 wins has been over 16m, the latest a sharp run over the 2040m. With even luck she wins. STUDLEIGH WILL (8) will need some factors in his favour here but with the right run in transit, can be coiled and ready to take the closing shot. He did a power of work last start when cutting the breeze in sizzling 1780m and faded under the pressure. With a cosy trip he can be ready to pull the trigger. NON PASSARE (1) held on for the silver 3 starts back after starting from inside the 2nd line and finished 7m from the winner MONUMENTAL. With the gate advantage he will be looking to capitalise. RAGING INFERNO (9) closed out strongly at Marburg 2 starts back to arrive for a 3m victory and then last time out he was locked in a pocket and never had a shot. In this line-up he can feature.
SELECTIONS: INDYS APPROVAL (11), STUDLEIGH WILL (8), NON PASSARE (1), RAGING INFERNO (9) SUGGESTED BET: INDYS APPROVAL (11) to win
RACE SIX KISS CAM (6) has found some nice form at Redcliffe with wins in 2 of his past 3 starts and the other a 2nd to the subsequent winner MATRON JUJON. Pressing forward to the front from gate 4 last start, it was a power running display in posting a 20m win in slick time. He can maintain the rage in this. DONT CALL ME (2) was forced to face the breeze last start and was in for the fight when under 4m from the winner JACKS GAMBIT. Snagged back from gate 5 over the 2040m 2 starts back, he was hitting the line in good order. He might need to work hard again, but will be in for the fight. TRENT FROM PUNCHY (3) mas his Qld debut and was last seen at Mildura when hitting the line in good order to be within 2m of the winner. In the money at 4 of his past 6, including 2 wins, he stays under notice. ARES (1) was buried away on the pegs last start and found the line in nice style to grab the silver behind GETARATTLEON. Wide off the track the start prior at Marburg for 3rd, the soft trip will suit. SELECTIONS: KISS CAM (6), DONT CALL ME (2), TRENT FROM PUNCHY (3), ARES (1), SUGGESTED BET: KISS CAM (6) to win
RACE SEVEN
COOL SCOOTER (5) should find this a shade easier than recent outings, the latest over the mile when down the line behind OUR LITTLE DIGGER. A tidy winner 3 starts back when finishing over the top to defeat KEY LARGO, early position will be key here, yet he looks to have the edge against these. ALWAYS IN COMMAND (6) was sent to the pegs in a qualifier 2 starts back after landing gate 12 and looking for short-cuts was attacking the line strongly when 7m from the winner. Charging home last start to be 5m from the winner BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO, the wide gate is a stinger, yet he can challenge. STEVIE DEE (1) is on the back-up from Sat night. Striking trouble at her previous 2 starts that ended her chances, her run was a tidy effort from gate 7 in a mares qualifier 4 starts back and from this alley is right in the mix. RUATO BAY (10) is on the back-up from Fri night where he was 3rd up from a break. His run at Marburg 2 starts back was a tough effort when rolling to the breeze from gate 5 and with even luck can chime in here.
SELECTIONS: COOL SCOOTER (5), ALWAYS IN COMMAND (6), STEVIE DEE (1), RUATO BAY (10) SUGGESTED BET: COOL SCOOTER (5) to win
RACE EIGHT TOPNOTCH MACH (4) capitalised on gate 1 at Redcliffe 2 starts back, taking them all the way and holding on to win by a neck. Buried in the run last start after looking for short-cuts, he found the line nicely. With some early speed and pressure, he can sit back and look to take a closing shot. ELMAUR JOY (1) is racing well at present with a top-three in 6 of her past 8 appearances. Spearing across from gate 5 at Redcliffe on Thurs, she found the front before being grabbed up the passing lane right on the line. Hitting the line strongly from the back the start prior, she will be gripping on. NEWMERELLA SHARKIE (10) resumes from a spell as he looks to score his 3rd successive win. Sent for a break after claiming a qualifier in a new career benchmark, he will be swooping late. THUNDER MAC (7) has no favours from this gate, but his form is solid with a top-two in 5 of his past 6. Charging home along the pegs last start to grab the silver behind ELMS CREEK, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: TOPNOTCH MACH (4), ELMAUR JOY (1), NEWMERELLA SHARKIE (10), THUNDER MAC (7) SUGGESTED BET:
