RACE TWO

MAYWYNS HONEY (6) looked to lead throughout at her 2nd race start, when setting a steady tempo, she was collared close to the wire by BOPPIN THE BLUES. Making an error 2 starts back, she found the line strongly last start after copping some trouble. In an open contest, she is worth a ticket.

ABBEY DIADEMA (4) is still looking for an elusive maiden breaking win. That win is getting closer and with placings in 2 of her past 3 and a nice alley in a winnable race, she will get the chance here. From gate 10 last time she hit the line soundly when 10m in arrears and she can challenge.

In a race with plenty of chances to fill the minors, CANNAN (2) should secure a nice trip just in behind the speed and if limiting the early burn can get some of the place money.

PATCHWORK JET (3) returned the best effort of his career last start when 3m from the winner DUSTY PLAINS and with further improvement is an exotic player and MIKE ORR (9) was an improver last time and can be thereabouts in this grade.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS HONEY (6), ABBEY DIADEMA (4), CANNAN (2), PATCHWORK JET (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

OUR DOUG (3) settled in the 1x1 trail last start from a 2nd line gate and just couldn’t get into the contest in the closing stages. He found THE DOORMAN too slick 2 starts back when snagged back from gate 6 to look for cheap runs against the pegs and in this line-up from the gate gets a chance.

LETS DIG IT (4) pounced on the pegs last start from gate 2 prior to releasing the pressure and then via the passing lane went within a half-head of the winner STUDELIGH WILL. Forget his run 2 starts back when making an error, he can settle handy here and issue a challenge.

WANJIRU (9) made a winning start in Qld when hitting the line in good style to arrive for the prize last time out. A winner at 2 of her 9 starts, with the right run in transit she will be right in the fight.

TODAYS HERO (7) has missed a top-3 just once in 7 career starts and finished with the bronze at both starts here at AP. The wide gate hurts, but with a tidy 3rd to ALE ALE KAI last start, can chime in.

SELECTIONS: OUR DOUG (3), LETS DIG IT (4), WANJIRU (9), TODAYS HERO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-4-7-9

RACE FOUR

With 5 starts since arriving in Qld and 2 years since he last tasted victory, SIR MACADOR (5) finds what looks his easiest assignment this campaign. Settling in the running line from the 2nd line last start, he was sound to the line. Too far back 2 starts back when buried, he looks to get a chance.

COBALT BLUES (2) was snagged back from gate 5 last start and was a long way back in the pack and then when looking to get into the contest was hitting dead-ends and finishing 8m from the winner LANCELOT BROMAC. A winner 5 starts back, he has had wide gates in 4 runs since and can bounce back here.

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8) features in a stable change and will line up for Graham Dwyer for the first time. It didn’t go to plan last time, but with the cosy trip, he will be probing for openings.

SCOTT TOM (1) is yet to hit the board in 10 appearances here at The Creek, but with the good alley, he will get his chance to change that. Grabbed late when leading them up 2 back, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SIR MACADOR (5), COBALT BLUES (2), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8), SCOTT TOM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR MACADOR (5) to win

RACE FIVE

TRENT FROM PUNCHY (1) sat back and came with a strong finishing burst to claim victory here 5 starts back. In the 4 runs since, things haven’t really worked in his favour including some wider gates. Tough in the breeze here 2 starts back when 2m from the winner, he gets the options here.

SPLASH OF GOLD (8) will be hoping Trent looks to go all the way, with that scenario giving her every chance to wait for the passing lane and take the closing shot. Spearing out from gate 4 to find the front last start, she was only collared late over the 2138m. Look for her probing for the run.

NON PASSARE (2) was shooting for the hat-trick at Redcliffe 2 starts back after successive wins at the 1780m. Beaten by gate 6 when after the threepeat, he was tough last start from gate 5. The improved gate is a plus.

GOTTA MOMENT (10) has the lone pacing in 6 attempts on the track and despite the 2nd line, he might just find this a shade easier. Burnt in a sizzling opening panel last start, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: TRENT FROM PUNCHY (1), SPLASH OF GOLD (8), NON PASSARE (2), GOTTA MOMENT (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TRENT FROM PUNCHY (1) to win

RACE SIX

CC JONES (1) rolled forward to face the breeze over the mile last start and was digging in for the fight when holding on for the bronze, finishing 3.5m from the winner. Too far back the start prior after landing gate 10 in a solid mile, he charged home 3 back. The improved gate is a big plus here.

DOLLY MACH LOMBO (6) resumes from a spell after a hit and run mission to Victoria that netted a win and a 2nd in 2 starts. Holding up from gate 1 over the 2160m at Echuca, she was a comfortable all the way winner and followed that with a tough 2nd at Bendigo. This is within reach 1st up.

BARA CHARLOTTE (8) wasn’t suited last start over the 2138m trip when taking on a mares qualifier. The start prior she was tough from the 2nd line when sent forward at Tamworth and has place hopes with a cosy run here.

ARK PATROL (4) resumes from a spell and has been to the trials once to open the pipes in readiness. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 2 starts back, he can be around the mark here fresh.

SELECTIONS: CC JONES (1), DOLLY MACH LOMBO (6), BARA CHARLOTTE (8), ARK PATROL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CC JONES (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

VINTAGE DREAM (2) took on a similar mares race last start and from gate 1 settled in the pocket trail. Looking for openings, she locked wheels and lost momentum when finishing 2m from the winner STEVIE DEE. Hitting the line nicely 3 starts back, she can look to atone in this.

STEVIE DEE (6) is racing well and lines up for her 5th start in 14 days, racing consistently in this period. Snagged back from this gate 2 starts back over the 2138m trip, she was then packing too any guns in the run home to score. Too far back against the tempo last start, she can challenge hard.

MATRON JUJON (4) eased back from gate 6 last start and finding the pegs was looking for luck when down the line behind CRAZY DUDE. Only 3m in arrears 2 starts back, back to mares only suits.

ONYAJANS (1) does her best when locked away and saved for a closing shot and from the ace gets the right pattern in this. Finding the line nicely last start, look for her probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: VINTAGE DREAM (2), STEVIE DEE (6), MATRON JUJON (4), ONYAJANS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: VINTAGE DREAM (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Despite landing the 2nd line gate, the drop-in class looks substantial enough for MAKOA (9) to capitalise here. Eased back from gate 7 last start in Sat night Band 5 company he was hitting the line strongly, running some smart closing panels. Fitter from 2 runs back from a break, this looks ideal.

SIR JULIAN (10) is not far away from a win in the right race and if he can secure a cart home in this, will be hitting the line hard. Last time out from back in the pack, he just had his run hampered when needing open space and once straightened, attacked the line well. This looks to suit.

PROFICIENT (5) pressed on to take control last start over the mile last start. Looking to be in strife at the 600m when passed, he dug in for the fight, finishing mid-field behind PEMBROOKS PASSION. He can get forward again and has claims.

COMIGAL (1) was locked away against the markers last start in mares company after retreating from gate 5. Hitting the line nicely in the closing stages, she will get a good trip from the ace and is in the mix for the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MAKOA (9), SIR JULIAN (10), PROFICIENT (5), COMIGAL (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MAKOA (9) to win
