Regional Queensland is encouraging eligible clubs to finalise their submissions for the second round of Country Racing Program funding with applications closing at the end of the month.
The CRP provides $2.6 million per annum for non-TAB thoroughbred clubs to assist with infrastructure repairs and maintenance, forming a part of the Palaszczuk Government’s four-year, $70.4 million Country Racing Support Package.
“I would strongly encourage all eligible clubs to submit an application before January 31,” RQ General Manager Club Partnerships and Assets Melinda Martin said.
“The first round of CRP funding has already delivered strong results, including funding significant track remediation works at the Innisfail Turf Club and Mount Isa Race Club, as well as replacement tie-up stalls at the Dawson Jockey Club.
“Racing Queensland looks forward to working with successful applicants in 2020 and beyond to deliver more fantastic results in the regions.”
The opening round of the CRP saw Racing Queensland receive more than 250 submissions, with 86 priority projects approved across 54 clubs.
Clubs must submit one application per separate project, however, they may apply for multiple projects.
Ineligible items include but are not limited to: the repayment of debt and loans; sponsorship; prize money; and the purchase of equipment and/or services that benefit an individual.
