RACE TWO
After an impressive return from a spell when leading throughout to victory, BETTERTHANSPRAYING (2) will be tightened from the outing and lands another good alley in search of a repeat. With 5m to spare last time in the comfortable victory, she will be out in front dictating again here. GIZZMO (1) will strip fitter from his return to the track after 12 months on the sidelines. Taken to Redcliffe 1st up, he sat stalking in the pocket trail and when the lane arrived, was too slippery to grab the win. With another easy trip on offer, he will be coiled and ready to strike once again. JAMIES BADY BOY (6) faces a tricky gate as he looks to keep his 3 start unbeaten Aus record in-tact. Packing too much heat from the breeze last start to score over the 2138m, he won’t be far away. DEVOUGED (8) led them up last start from the two-hole over the 2138m and was fighting to the wire when 3rd to the smart TIZ A SIZZLER. With the easy trip he will be probing for gaps in the stretch. SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANSPRAYING (2), GIZZMO (1), JAMIES BADY BOY (6), DEVOUGED (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-8
RACE THREE
KYVALLEY TINMAN (1) will be 1st up from a spell and 1st up for the Mal Charlton barn and comes with plenty of vices. Banished to the trials last start for his racing manners, he has earned the ticket back in 2 hit-outs where his gait has looked fluent. Stepping to the front he can pinch this fresh. There is always a risk with IM THE COMMANDO (12) that he will make a mess of the start and your chances are over before they start. But when he can get it right, like he did last start off 10m to press forward and take the prize, he is tough to beat. At his best when rolling in front, he can feature. MONORAIL (2) has been racing well in recent starts with a top-3 in 8 of his past 10 appearances. Finding the 1x1 trail last start he was hitting the line nicely for the silver and is in the mix again. WHATABOYZ (6) is still searching for what is proving to be an elusive Aus victory. Buried away against the pegs last start, he was closing nicely once seeing space and can chime in late here.
SELECTIONS: KYVALLEY TINMAN (1), IM THE COMMANDO (12), MONORAIL (2), WHATABOYZ (6) SUGGESTED BET: KYVALLEY TINMAN (1) to win
RACE FOUR STREET APPEAL (7) was 1st up in Aus last week off a 7-week break between starts when landing the 2nd row he made an early error soon after release. Settling to find position, he emerged out of the pack to hit the line in good style for 2nd to BETTERTHANSPRAYING. He can overcome the gate here. SUGARKANE (2) has been sharper at her past 2 starts at Redcliffe after 5 runs back this term. Starting fav last time out from gate 6, she was strong to the line after working hard in transit to gran the silver. Grabbed in the closing stages the start prior, the conditions suit to challenge here. TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1) was 1st up for her 3YO term last start when starting fav but making an error in the run. With the peg-line benefits she can look to atone for the mistake. OUR BALOU (5) added another minor to his tally last start to make it a top-3 at his past 5 in succession. Tough in the breeze in a sub 1.54 mile, he is a huge threat here if limiting the burn. SELECTIONS: STREET APPEAL (7), SUGARKANE (2), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1), OUR BALOU (5) SUGGESTED BET: STREET APPEAL (7) to win
RACE FIVE
WHITEHAVEN LASS (4) rolled forward from gate 5 last start and happy to set up shop in the breeze, was only fading in the closing stages behind BETTERTHANSPRAYING. The start prior not much went her way when buried away from inside the 2nd line. With early speed she can dictate here. MONTANA EXPRESS (10) has the tough gate as a result of his barrier manners and has been racing well despite the starting embargo. From a long way back last start he was attacking the line strongly to grab the bronze and swooping late again here can be issuing a closing challenge. WHATA REACTOR (2) was in the pocket trail last start from gate 1 when holding on for the bronze. Her previous 3 were all from the 2nd line and with another good alley can be in the mix here. KYRONTA (8) found the speed a bit hot last start when JIGGLE AND JIVE set a sizzling mile in front which followed a tough gate where he was too far back against the tempo. He is better suited here.
SELECTIONS: WHITEHAVEN LASS (4), MONTANA EXPRESS (10), WHATA REACTOR (2, KYRONTA (8) SUGGESTED BET: WHITEHAVEN LASS (4) to win
RACE SIX ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1) has been back to the track 4 times this campaign and finally scores a good alley. Locked away last start from inside the 2nd line, he was really hitting the line in fine style to grab the bronze over this trip. His run had merit the start prior and he lands his chance to capitalise. COBBLER LANE (8) made a tidy return to the track from a break last start when slicing through to grab the silver behind GOTTA MOMENT. Without a trial to prepare, he will take benefit from the run and with the early options as the lone 2nd line runner, can throw down the challenge here. ZARAS DANCE (2) has been to the track 6 times this season and placed on each occasion. Charging home last start from a long way back after retreating from gate 6, she can add another minor here. ARK ME (5) was able to pounce on the poles here 3 starts back and taking control pinched the race. Too far back at her next start from gate 12 and sound last time, with the right run she can place.
SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1), COBBLER LANE (8), ZARAS DANCE (2), ARK ME (5) SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1) to win
RACE SEVEN
Starting fav at her return to the track for her 3YO campaign 2 starts back, CUT FROM ROCK (2) was working hard in the breeze and faded under the work. Learning from the experience, they released after finding the front last start and she was too slippery late to take the prize. This is a step-up, but she can look to repeat. THE CRUISE MISSILE (6) was sent for a break after failing as the fav last start over the Redcliffe 2040m. That was his 5th start in Aus where he has started in red figures on 4 occasions. Returning 2 wins from those numbers, he opened the pipes with a smart trial and can challenge in this. JUSTA DALE (9) looked to take then al the way last start from gate 1 but couldn’t see it out when he was nabbed up the passing lane. Trailing through early to find position, he has claims here. MONTANA LAD (7) has no favours from the tough gate here but if able to find position cheaply can be attacking in the closing stages. A smart winner here 2 starts back, he can be in the mix.
SELECTIONS: CUT FROM ROCK (2), THE CRUISE MISSILE (6), JUSTA DALE (9), MONTANA LAD (7) SUGGESTED BET: CUT FROM ROCK (2) to win
RACE EIGHT GOTTA MOMENT (10) has found his mojo and backs up from Sat night where he was in search of a hat-trick of victories. Working home wide out to arrive for a stylish win over the mile he backed it up with an enormous effort over the 2138m after making a mess of things early. He can descend here. TORI MAY (2) earned a shot at The Bill Dixon off the back of 2 wins and 2nds in her previous 4 starts including a smart win over the mile when charging home from gate 11 to arrive for a smart win. Snagged bac in the feature, she was too far back and chasing to offer. She can bounce back here. IM MAJOR HARRY (4) was another beaten by the tempo when retreating from gate 6 and chasing in vain as VIRGIL controlled proceedings. 2nd in a qualifier the start prior, he is in the mix here. RECIPE FOR DREAMING (6) will find this easier than his last start when not too far away from them in an electric 1.51 mile. A stylish 2nd the start prior, finding position cheaply will be key to his hopes.
SELECTIONS: GOTTA MOMENT (10), TORI MAY (2), IM MAJOR HARRY (4), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (6) SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA MOMENT (10) to win
RACE NINE CLINTAL DO (10) started from gate 9 last start over the mile and asked to present in the closing 400m was able to loom up and take the prize. He beat himself the start prior when racing too keen in the Christmas Cup and with a strong front-line tempo can arrive to take this. MACEY JAYDE (2) had a shot from gate 4 last start and was stranded in the breeze when unable to cross. In for the fight she was tough to the line when holding on for silver in sharp time. That followed a down the line run when making a starting error and if firing out here, will give a sight. PACIFIC DRUMS (5) started fav last time out from gate 10 and returned a sharp effort to grab 4th against the tempo. A slick winner when resuming 2 starts back at Redcliffe, he can feature here. CHANGE OF MIND (9) sliced between runners to arrive for victory over the mile last start after being locked away in the run. Following through to land handy in the run, he can chime in again here.
SELECTIONS: CLINTAL DO (10), MACEY JAYDE (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (5), CHANGE OF MIND (9) SUGGESTED BET: CLINTAL DO (10) to win
