RACE TWO
LEFTHOOKRIGHTCROSS (8) made a mess of things last start when breaking gait and throwing his chances away. The start prior from gate 6, he went back early and then was strong in the closing stages when 4m from the winner. In an open contest, with the right run, he can land the knockout. JAKES ARK (7) started fav last start from this same gate and was soon locked away 3 horses back. Using the passing lane, he couldn’t reel them in when down the line behind CANNAN. Striking trouble, the start prior, if he can get it right in transit, this is a race that is within reach. THE LAST STARFIRE (1) grabbed 2nd at his Qld debut when best of the chasers behind the big winner STORM GILBERT. Not suited by an early burn over the 2040m last start, the return to 1780m suits. FEEL THE THRILL (5) wasn’t pacing cleanly last start in the early stages yet was able to regather some rhythm to chime in for the bronze. Despite the wide gate he has podium claims again here. SELECTIONS: LEFTHOOKRIGHTCROSS (8), JAKES ARK (7), THE LAST STARFIRE (1), FEEL THE THRILL (5) SUGGESTED BET: LEFTHOOKRIGHTCROSS (8) to win
RACE THREE
JINGLES BROMAC (10) will take benefit from his 1st Aus appearance last start at AP when sent to the post a short-priced fav. Doing some work in the early stages to get forward from gate 5, he was then cutting the breeze before fading late. Learning from the outing, he can be sharper to take this. WILLSINTOWN (6) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon locked away looking for space, running on in the closing stages to grab the silver. Taken back from gate 5 over the 2040m here 2 starts back, he has the gate speed to take a shot here and, in this line-up, can challenge. CHEYENNE AUTUMN (1) did it the tough way last start when facing the breeze and was fighting hard when within 2m of the winner CANNAN. With the early options here, she can be chiming in. A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (8) was sent to the breeze from gate 9 last start and after the tough run, faded when the pressure lifted. He can follow through early and limiting the work is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: JINGLES BROMAC (10), WILLSINTOWN (6), CHEYENNE AUTUMN (1), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (8) SUGGESTED BET: JINGLES BROMAC (10) to win
RACE FOUR PEGGY STARDUST (1) returned from a spell without a trial over the AP mile and after leading early, released the speed before dropping right out. Sent back to the trials, she looked good in earning the race ticket back here over the 1780m. With the gate advantage, she can atone for the 1st up flop. CANNAN (6) settled in the running line last start from a 2nd line gate and with the right run in transit was able to finish over the top to claim the loot in a blanket finish. Fading out the start prior after doing some early work, if able to limit the burn, look for him chiming in here. WECANONLYHOPE (7) has been runner-up in 4 of her past 6 outings, the latest when buried in transit and chasing home late behind the big winner TULHURST KATE. With the right trip, she can snipe. KID CALVERT (8) hasn’t been too far away in 3 starts since claiming victory here when using the passing lane. The pegs look attractive here and with an economical trip can take the short way into the money.
SELECTIONS: PEGGY STARDUST (1), CANNAN (6), WECANONLYHOPE (7), KID CALVERT (8) SUGGESTED BET: PEGGY STARDUST (1) to win
RACE FIVE
A tough race to dissect here where the last start Tamworth winner IMA REGAL JET (10) might just be able to arrive off the back of a solid tempo. Too strong last start when sent to the breeze, he was too far back at Armidale the start prior. With a rub of the green, he can break his Redcliffe maiden tag. JEWEL OF PEAK (9) will strip fitter from her latest outing when 2nd up from a spell. Settling back in the pack from this same gate over the sprint trip, there was plenty to like in how she finished it off when within 4m of the winner. With a cart into the contest, look for her powering home. HEADWIN (8) wasn’t suited when locked away on the pegs last start from an inside 2nd line gate, yet was making some good closing ground. Charging home, the start prior for the bronze, he has podium claims. INCITER (1) was locked away 3 back from inside the 2nd line last start and didn’t see the space he needed to wind up. Setting the tempo, the start prior from this gate, he was nabbed late and will be in the mix again.
SELECTIONS: IMA REGAL JET (10), JEWEL OF PEAK (9), HEADWIN (8), INCITER (1) SUGGESTED BET: IMA REGAL JET (10) to win
RACE SIX LAUGHING EMOJI (9) started from inside the 2nd line last start over the AP mile and was locked away on the pegs with her chances ended behind a tiring horse in front saw her lose all momentum with nowhere to go. They were too sharp the start prior and despite the tough gate, she can arrive. ELIZABETHAN ERA (7) arrives in Qld to join the Alan Godwin stable and arrives the winner of her past 4 starts in succession. Finishing over the top of them last start at Ararat over 1790m, Godwin has primed her with 3 local trials, the latest a tidy effort. With a slice of luck in transit she can challenge. KETTERING GIRL (6) makes her 1st appearance in Qld, joining the Rob Gorman barn from the Riverina of NSW. A last start winner at Temora when working home in a slogging finish, she stays under notice. DASHING HANNAH (2) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Grabbed in the stretch after setting the tempo, back to Redcliffe can work to her advantage.
SELECTIONS: LAUGHING EMOJI (9), ELIZABETHAN ERA (7), KETTERING GIRL (6), DASHING HANNAH (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
IFOUNDTHEBEACH (5) sat back in the pack last start and when injected into the contest at the 350m, exploded clear over to cruise home to a bi 20m victory. That was over his less-preferred 2040m and had followed successive 2nd placed runs over the AP mile. If he finds the right position, he can repeat the last start performance. EULO FLYER (2) found the 1x1 trail here 3 starts back and with the good run in transit was able to arrive in the closing strides for a 3m victory. They were too sharp at his next start in a qualifier and back to the triangle last start was able to tough it out in the breeze to score. He can challenge. SPECIAL RESERVE (7) will need a slice of luck form this alley as she looks in danger of being locked away. Only a half-neck away last start after charging home from the rear, she will be probing here. VANTO HANOVER (8) made a rare visit to AP last start when finishing down the line behind FEELINGFORARAINBOW. Not suited in the breeze 2 starts back, she can look to close out late in this.
SELECTIONS: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (5), EULO FLYER (2), SPECIAL RESERVE (7), VANTO HANOVER (8) SUGGESTED BET: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (5) to win
RACE EIGHT JUST JOSHIN (9) took o a qualifier last start and was soon buried in the run from gate 1. Under the circumstances it was a tidy effort behind BUMPER and the return to the triangle is certainly in his favour. A tough winner from gate 4 here 3 starts back, he can get the right trip to bounce back here. COBBLER LANE (3) has been drawn off the 2nd line in recent starts as a result of his starting manners and after earning the tick back into the main draw, will appreciate the three-hole here. Too wide and too far back last start, he is 2 from 3 here on the triangle and from the gate can be a big improver. TIMELESS APPEAL (8) made the most of conditions last start when swooping home in the stretch to claim a narrow victory. This is a slight rise, yet with the right run in transit she has podium claims. OUR PEPPERJACK (5) doesn’t have many favours from this alley, but he has been thereabouts in recent outings with 3 successive placings. Finding position cheaply will be key to his place chances.
SELECTIONS: JUST JOSHIN (9), COBBLER LANE (3), TIMELESS APPEAL (8), OUR PEPPERJACK (5) SUGGESTED BET: JUST JOSHIN (9) to win
RACE NINE TULHURST KATE (1) shoots for the hat-trick here on the triangle after successive wins from the 2nd line. Starting in red figures last start, she had too much power in the closing stages in surging home to a 12m victory. This is a step-up yet from the gate should get the perfect trip to fire a closing shot. CC JONES (2) made a costly error last start that ended his chances after finding the front. A smart winner the start prior over the 2040m when able to dictate in front, he can get across to take up the lamp lighting duties again here and if able to stay in his gear, will take plenty of catching. FORTES IN FIDE (7) started from gate 9 last start here over this trip and went to the pegs looking for the short-cuts that didn’t arrive. With the easy trip on offer here, look for him probing for space late. HIGH ON MONTANA (3) will find this easier than last start when angled off the pegs from gate 1 to face the breeze over the mile. Fading after a tough trip in sharp time, look for a sharper effort here.
SELECTIONS: TULHURST KATE (1), CC JONES (2), FORTES IN FIDE (7), HIGH ON MONTANA (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7
