RACE TWO
READILY (1) settled in the running line form gate 4 last start and saved for one run was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to grab 2nd behind STUDLEIGH WILL. Too far back in transit here 2 starts back when snagged off the gate from the six-hole, he should get the ideal trip to pounce here. CC JONES (6) went straight to the front here last start and once in control held on to claim the prize over the sprint trip. A winner here 3 starts back when taking them all the way over the 2040m, he made an error at his next run that ended his chances. With early speed, he might get lit up here and would give plenty in front. FORTES IN FIDE (4) was locked away in the run last start from inside the 2nd line and when the power went on, couldn’t go with them t finish mid-field. He can settle forward in this and is in the mix. ANNAS BEST (7) looks set to enjoy an economical trip from inside the 2nd line which should have her ready to offer a closing shot. Only 3m in arrears last start from the pocket trail, she will be probing. SELECTIONS: READILY (1), CC JONES (6), FORTES IN FIDE (4), ANNAS BEST (7) SUGGESTED BET: READILY (1) to win
RACE THREE
ROWDYS ACE (1) was a winner here 3 starts back over this trip when finding the pocket trail and then out sprinting them up the passing lane. That followed a close 2nd to JOVIAL JULIE when again using the passing lane in a neat steer from gate 4. With the right trail he can be in the snipers seat. OUR DELIGHT (6) found her race last start and using her early speed held the front with ease. Walking them the first 800m, there was plenty in reserve to rip home a sharp last 800m and claim a 2m victory. The gate stings here, but using her speed off the arm, can be in the right spot to challenge. JOVIAL JULIE (7) was grabbed in the closing strides here 3 starts back when turning it into a last stanza scamper. Atoning with a dictating win 2 starts back, she found the one lap dash too sharp last time. She can chime in. VANTO HANOVER (5) doesn’t have many favours from this gate, but if able to find cheap position, she can be working into the contest in the closing stages. Only 3m away last start, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: ROWDYS ACE (1), OUR DELIGHT (6), JOVIAL JULIE (7), VANTO HANOVER (5) SUGGESTED BET: ROWDYS ACE (1) to win
RACE FOUR This looks an open contest where the early tempo might just be strong enough for PATCHWORK JET (10) to swoop over the top. He found the line nicely 2 starts back to grab the bronze behind SCHOOBY when 3m in arrears and last start was luckless when locked on the pegs. With even luck in transit, he can arrive. PEGGY STARDUST (2) looked to have found her race last start when lighting the lamps from gate 1 over the sprint trip. With close to an even tempo she was collared in the closing strides when beaten a half-neck. Fitter for the outing after 2 runs back from a spell, she can look to see this out. WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7) is in nice touch and added an AP victory to her name last start when clearing out to a big win after leading throughout. Charging home here to be only a half-neck away 2 starts back, she will be probing the gaps. SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (6) had to cover plenty of the triangle last start when wide off the track in working home from the 2nd line. It was a sound effort and despite the gate has place claims here.
SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (10), PEGGY STARDUST (2), WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7), SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (6) SUGGESTED BET: PATCHWORK JET (10) to win
RACE FIVE
TICK OF THE CLOCK (1) was snagged back from gate 6 over the AP mile last start and after settling back in the pack, was working home in good order in a slogging finish to garb the silver. A beaten fav here 3 starts back at his 1st run in Qld, he lands the right gate here and can look to capitalise. JEWEL OF PEAK (5) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up since returning from a break. Settling back in the pack from a 2nd line gate, there was plenty to line in how she found the line to be within a half-neck of the winner. With the right cart into the contest, she can challenge. TULHURST KATE (6) has been in great touch with a quinella finish at her past 5 in succession, 3 of those being victories. Just missing in attempting to gun down CC JONES last start, she has claims. MODERN THOUGHT (2) set the tempo from this gate last start and was only nabbed in the closing strides when 2m in arrears. A smart winner here 3 starts back, she can make start 100 memorable.
SELECTIONS: TICK OF THE CLOCK (1), JEWEL OF PEAK (5), TULHURST KATE (6), MODERN THOUGHT (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-5-6
RACE SIX The 2nd week of the Trot Rods and HALF MOON BEACH (3) can look to call on his gate speed to fire off the arm here and sling-shot to the lead. Fitter after 2 runs back form a spell, he was left wanting in the closing stages on return after setting the tempo. Not suited last start from the 2nd line, he can take this. RED TERROR (6) made the most of conditions to take them all the way from gate 5 over the AP mile when making his Qld debut 2 starts back. Only 8m from the winner B MAC C last start and found to have an issue, he can look to bounce back here at his 1st look at the triangle. DATITUDE (5) has been thereabouts in recent starts with placings at her past 4 in succession. Working home in good order last start to grab 3rd behind RUNFORTHEROSES, she has 3 wins here on the triangle and will be in the mix.
SELECTIONS: HALF MOON BEACH (3), RED TERROR (6), DATITUDE (5) SUGGESTED BET: HALF MOON BEACH (3) to win
RACE SEVEN
Another tricky contest where the wider and 2nd line runners look to hold a slight edge. With that in mind BETTOR WATCH HIM (5) can look to overcome the tricky gate. A winner from the 2nd line here 5 starts back, he has faced wide gates since that win and been sound under the circumstances. This looks the right type of race for him to cash-in. WHATA STRIDE (9) found the 1x1 trail last start and was working home to grab a mid-field finish behind AROONA last start. Too far back the start prior, she has faced some tough gates in recent outings. Despite another sticky alley here, she can be chiming in against this line-up. WECANONLYHOPE (7) was buried from inside the 2nd line last start and probing for openings. Working home to grab the silver 2 starts back, she again lands inside the 2nd and will again be probing. MANOFLISA (1) hasn’t had much go in his favour in recent starts and will be hoping for some better luck from the ace gate. He might just have enough to keep them wide and can be fighting hard.
SELECTIONS: BETTOR WATCH HIM (5), WHATA STRIDE (9), WECANONLYHOPE (7), MANOFLISA (1) SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR WATCH HIM (5) to win
RACE EIGHT KAY NORA SHANNON (9) lands another 2nd line gate after starting on row 2 at her past 2 in succession. Working home in good order last start to grab the bronze, she was locked away 2 starts back and never had a decent shot at them. With this a shade below what she has been meeting, she can overcome the gate. STARZZZ ON HIGH (4) went to the front from gate 3 in a similar type race last start and after setting an even tempo was collared in the closing stages. Holding on for the bronze when 6m in arrears of the winner SUKI DAYO, she can settle close enough to make a challenge. BE ON THE SLY (5) has been meeting tougher line-ups than he faces here and with even luck in transit, can overcome the wide alley. Locked away last start from inside the 2nd line, he is right in the fight here. SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (3) rolled forward from gate 4 in the early stages last start before finding cover and was working home nicely in the closing stages when 6m in arrears. Settling handy she can be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: KAY NORA SHANNON (9), STARZZZ ON HIGH (4), BE ON THE SLY (5), SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (3) SUGGESTED BET: KAY NORA SHANNON (9) to win
RACE NINE BRIGHTON PRINCE (9) had been building towards his 1st win of the season after 5 runs this campaign. Each of those was improving off the previous outing and 3 starts back after a tough run in transit, he was only a flared nostril from victory. Too tough in breaking through from gate 5 last start, he can look to build on that here. ELSIES GIRL (1) is getting closer to a maiden breaking win after 3 lacings in her past 5 starts. Using the passing lane last start, she held on for the silver after the swooping SUKI DAYO arrived down the outside. With the early options again from this gate, she can be poised and ready to strike. FEEL THE THRILL (3) opened his account last start when finding the front from gate 5 and once in control was well-rated to take them all the way. From the gate he can fire out again and will be gripping on. CANNAN (5) worked home in good style to claim the prize over the sprint trip 2 starts back and the last start was hitting the line in the latter stages when within 1.5m of the winner. He can be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: BRIGHTON PRINCE (9), ELSIES GIRL (1), FEEL THE THRILL (3), CANNAN (5) SUGGESTED BET: BRIGHTON PRINCE (9) to win
