The prestigious Ipswich Greyhound Auction Series has been postponed as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier today, Racing Queensland and the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club agreed to postpone the event which was scheduled to be run from April 4 to April 18.
IGRC President Colin Fry said that the club was disappointed to postpone the event but believed the decision was a fair and appropriate, given the ongoing impact of COVID-19 restrictions and the difficulties associated with border movement at the current time.
“The Auction event targets entries from all over Australia and our decision has had fair regard for expectations of all entrants,” Mr Fry said.
Additionally, IGRC will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and will seek to re-schedule the event as soon as possible with the club set to communicate with participants.
