Queensland superstar Oh Mickey created a slice of history last night as he became the first greyhound to ever capture the Richmond Derby in the same year as the National Derby.
Starting from the outside, the Clint Kratzmann-trained dog jumped brilliantly as he grabbed the lead before the first turn and was never headed as he clocked a blistering 30.44 to secure the Group 2 feature.
Having chalked up back-to-back wins at Albion Park to start his career, Oh Mickey is yet to finish out of the placings from 11 starts, improving his record to 8-2-1 and more than $135,000 in prize money.
