RACE TWO
ELMS CREEK (8) has placed at his past 3 in succession, the latest when a ong way back in the pack and trying to make closing metres as AT WEST POINT carved out a new track record in a power running performance at Redcliffe. Needing a slice of luck, he can be probing to take the closing shot. TACT BESS (3) was runner-up last start after releasing the front and then chasing home to hold 2nd behind BUMPER. That form has been franked with the 3rd placed HAVANA MOON since claiming victory. Settling handy to the speed from this gate, she can be looking to make a closing play. THE CRUISE MISSILE (9) claimed a qualifying victory here 3 starts back when taking control from gate 5 and leading them throughout. Luckless behind SIR JULIAN 2 starts back, he can chime in late here. NEWPORT DREAMZ (10) will strip fitter following his latest start when returning from a spell. Sent to the pegs from this gate for the short-cuts, he was sound to the line in a strong last half. He is in the mix. SELECTIONS: ELMS CREEK (8), TACT BESS (3), THE CRUISE MISSILE (9), NEWPORT DREAMZ (10) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE B MAC C (4) should appreciate his opportunities here after meeting some strong opponents in recent outings. Taken back from gate 4 last time, he was wide in trying to make ground against the tempo. That followed a tough run when working over the 2138m. He looks to get his chance in this. THE BIG CHEESE (3) pressed on to find the front from gate 2 last time out over the 2138m and setting a controlled tempo was only nabbed in the closing strides when a half-neck shy of the win. Taken back the start prior from gate 6, the improved gate over the sprint trip looks ideal. LIVING GRAND (1) secured a PB mile rate in victory here 4 starts back when hustling to protect the poles and taking them all the way from this gate. He will need to hustle again, but can place. HURRICANE ROY (8) makes his 1st appearance in Qld for the visiting Scott Hewitt barn and looks set for a cosy trip. Not far from AZTEC BROMAC over the Menangle mile last start, he will be probing the gaps.
SELECTIONS: B MAC C (4), THE BIG CHEESE (3), LIVING GRAND (1), HURRICANE ROY (8) SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (4) to win
RACE FOUR IMASPORTSTAR (3) will take great benefit from his 1st appearance in Qld since joining the Stephen Cini barn where he was also resuming from a spell. Snagged back from a wide gate, there was plenty to like in how he found the line for the silver behind BLACKSADANCE in a strong last 800m. It can be a 2nd-up strike. VIENNA BOY (1) held a forward position from gate 2 last start and with plenty of moves and speed, secured a trail before making the closing shot a winning one. Well-supported his previous 2 starts where he was newly arrived to Qld, he has the options from this gate to lay down the challenge. KILLARA KAOS (8) pressed forward from gate 6 last start over this trip and after working in the run, was a beaten horse a long way from home. Placed his previous 2, he will be better suited with the easy trip. ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) has been the runner-up in 3 of his past 5 outings, the latest when setting a slick tempo from gate 1 and only collared late by UNCLE JORD. From the gate he is right in the fight.
SELECTIONS: IMASPORTSTAR (3), VIENNA BOY (1), KILLARA KAOS (8), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) SUGGESTED BET: IMASPORTSTAR (3) to win
RACE FIVE
WICKED AZZ (3) took on the SE Oaks last start and was stuck wide early looking for position. Runner-up twice in the lead-up after returning from a spell, including a tidy effort behind ANOTHER STATEMENT. The added fitness and the improved gate give her the chance for a Qld breakthrough. BOMBADIER JUJON (7) angled to the pegs last start from the 2nd line when probing for gaps and sound to the wire behind the strong winner BLACKSADANCE. Chasing hard to hold 3rd behind TACTICAL RESPONSE in a sharp 2138m the start prior, the gate stings but he is up to the challenge. MAN FROM BRAAVOS (10) held the pocket trail last start as HUNTAWAY set a slick mile in front. Just not gaining the required momentum into the passing lane, he can be looking to chime in late again here. ITSMEGS (1) finished best to claim a smart win here 2 starts back after starting from the 2nd line. Back in the pack again from the 2nd line last start, she can get the perfect trip to offer late in this.
SELECTIONS: WICKED AZZ (3), BOMBADIER JUJON (7), MAN FROM BRAAVOS (10), ITSMEGS (1) SUGGESTED BET: WICKED AZZ (3) to win
RACE SIX ROLL WITH ROCKY (1) eased from gate 4 to find position last start and soon found himself a long way back. Looking to make his run, he was 4 and 5-wide around the home turn and didn’t look at all comfortable. Attacking the line once he flattened in the stretch, he has the gate to capitalise here. THE MONEY BALL (9) looks to get into this race nicely under the conditions and should land in a handy spot with the early trail. A qualifying winner 4 starts back when finishing strongly, he was strong to the line last start when chasing home behind the slick winner UNCLE JORD. He looms large. HUNTAWAY (4) will find this a shade or 2 below what he met last start when sent to the post as fav from gate 1 and fading after setting the speed. That followed an all the way win and he will be gripping on. GOOD AS IT GETS (8) was looking to make it 4 in succession last start when striking trouble in the run and ending his chances. Too strong in front the start prior when completing the hat-trick, he will be probing for gaps.
SELECTIONS: ROLL WITH ROCKY (1), THE MONEY BALL (9), HUNTAWAY (4), GOOD AS IT GETS (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-9
RACE SEVEN
BLACK HAWK JOE (4) was impressive in his AP debut when sent straight to the front over the sprint trip and taking control. Putting on a power running performance, he took them all the way in a 53.8 mile. Getting keen after working to the front and then opening them up over this trip last start, he was nabbed late by subsequent winner SNOOP STRIDE. He looks hard to stop here. MONTANA LAD (8) went to the line untested last start after being snookered in the run from this same gate and probing for openings that never eventuated. That was 1st up off a freshen with his previous start over this trip when working hard in the run. If the gaps open, he can challenge. ALBION ARK (6) made the most of gate 3 here 2 starts back when sent straight to the front over the mile and once in control had too many answers for their questions in scoring. The gate stings in this. HIGH ON MONTANA (1) will take further benefit from his latest performance when 2nd up from a break. Chasing hard behind SNOOP STRIDE from gate 10, the move to the front line is a big plus.
SELECTIONS: BLACK HAWK JOE (4), MONTANA LAD (8), ALBION ARK (6), HIGH ON MONTANA (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT Tempo will be all important here with the 2138m trip likely to sort a few of them out. After landing gate 7 last start TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2) was snagged back to look for the short-cuts but couldn’t eat into the deficit behind subsequent winner ITS SUPER EASY. Fitter after 2 runs back from a break, she gets her chance. ACOLTNAMEDSU (12) was having his 1st start in Qld when claiming a heat of the Marburg to Albion Series in leading them all the way. Making an error at the start in the 1660m Final, his chances were over before they started. Slugged with the ODM for the indiscretion, he can search for atonement. JUST ONE GOOD ONE (9) has placed in 2 of his past 3 starts, the latest from this same gate when working home in good order for the bronze behind ITS SUPER EASY. He can feature again in this. SIGNOR JUJON (3) pressed forward to take control here 3 starts back and once in front held them all off to land the loot. Starting from gate 5 at his past 2 appearances, he can be in the mix again here.
SELECTIONS: TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2), ACOLTNAMEDSU (12), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (9), SIGNOR JUJON (3) SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2) to win
RACE NINE JUSTA LITTLE BIT (6) has the wide gate to overcome, but he looks a smart type. Missing the Redcliffe sales Final, he won the Consolation of that Series off ability alone. He was simply not suited on the triangle configuration and was nursed all the way in his victory there. Back to the big oval, he can be at his best. HES SWEET (1) rolled the sleeves here 2 starts back when taking his 1st look at The Creek and was obliged to do it the tough way in a tidy effort to grab 2nd behind the handy filly JASPER. His run to hold 2nd last start at Redcliffe was big after a stack of work and from this gate gets every hope. LILLIES (3) was rewarded for her consistency last time out after some smart performances indicated a win was not far away. Runner-up in successive outings, she rolled forward from gate 4 here last start and finished best to claim a strong win. With the confidence of that , she can build on it here. MY CHINA DOLL (8) started from gate 10 last time out where she settled back in the field and chasing against the tempo as JASPER claimed the prize. With an economical trip, she can chime in. SELECTIONS: JUSTA LITTLE BIT (6), HES SWEET (1), LILLIES (3), MY CHINA DOLL (8) SUGGESTED BET: JUSTA LITTLE BIT (6) to win
RACE TEN AURORA (4) is the ultimate professional and last start showed her opponents a clean pair of plates in stepping straight to the front and taking them all the way to make it 4 successive victories, 3 of those being heats of this Series. With perfect manners, she can look to keep her record in-tact. INDEFENSIBLE (1) took on the older trotters last start and utilising the front tape, stepped cleanly and then took them all the way to claim the prize. Using the passing lane here 2 starts back in Heat 3 of this Series to be a half-head in arrears of AURORA, he has the position to challenge hard in this. SHEGOTSASS (2) has placed at her past 3 in succession, the latest when finding the line in good order to get within 3m of the winner AURORA. If she can get the start right, a win isn’t far off.
SELECTIONS: AURORA (4), INDEFENSIBLE (1), SHEGOTSASS (2) SUGGESTED BET:
