RACE TWO
HIPSTAR (9) has been in great touch since returning from a spell, finishing in the top-2 in 5 of his 6 appearances. Sent to the breeze here last week from gate 5, he out-muscled them through a sharp 56.1 last half to claim a 4m victory. With solid tempo looking on offer in this contest, he can swoop. VALOROSO HANOVER (3) had to do it the tough way in the breeze last start and wilted under the blow torch as AT WEST POINT carved out a new track record in front. Fighting gamely the start prior at Marburg and only falling a neck short of the prize, he looks better suited here to challenge. DYNAMIC BROMAC (5) steps out for the airborne Ryan Veivers barn for the 1st time and arrives after a last start 2nd in a Penrith claimer. A winner in claiming company 4 starts back, he is under notice. COLOMBIAN GOLD (2) led them up over the 2040m here last week and into the stretch it was only the trailing VINTAGE DREAM that was able to get past. Back to the sprint trip suits, she just needs to limit the pressure drawn to her outside. SELECTIONS: HIPSTAR (9), VALOROSO HANOVER (3), DYNAMIC BROMAC (5), COLOMBIAN GOLD (2) SUGGESTED BET: HIPSTAR (9) to win
RACE THREE
GO ANNE GO (3) had an early shot for the lamp lighting duties last start but was repelled. With an even tempo throughout, she faded in the latter stages. That followed a 2nd placed run where she was gunned down late after leading by ALL GOOD WALLY. Firing out, she can be gripping on. A BETTER CHANCE (1) will take added benefit from her latest start when only 3rd up from a break but having her 1st outing for the Dan Russell yard. Not much went right from gate 3 last time where she was unable to secure position and was forced to retreat. The improved gate can see her challenge. MISTER DECORUM (9) does not have any favours from the 2nd line yet this is no harder than recent outings. Runner-up here 3 starts back when working home in the closing stages, he has claims again. DOOLITTLE DANDY (4) worked into the 1x1 trail last start from inside the 2nd line when sliding up to grab the bronze behind PATCHWORK JET. He can land in a handy position here to chime in.
SELECTIONS: GO ANNE GO (3), A BETTER CHANCE (1), MISTER DECORUM (9), DOOLITTLE DANDY (4) SUGGESTED BET: GO ANNE GO to win
RACE FOUR MONTANA LAD (1) is not entirely suited to racing on the triangle, but that is offset by the fact he faces a drop in grade and has come up with the ace. Buried in the run from inside the 2nd line at his past 2 starts at The Creek, it has not really been in his favour. He gets his chance for a dictating win. FRENCH GLOBE (7) eased from gate 3 to find position last start over the AP mile and was soon locked away 4 back on the poles and searching for luck. Finding the line soundly from a similar position 2 starts back behind DAPPER BESSIE, he can get the easy trip to look for the exacta number. WARNER (8) scored a nice win over the AP mile 4 starts back when hitting the line strongly in the closing stages. Beaten by gate 12 and he up front tempo last start, a peg-line play looks inviting here. STUDLEIGH WILL (3) worked into the running line and was 8m in arrears of the dictating COPPERFIELD last start. Never too far from the action, he might need to roll the sleeves here.
SELECTIONS: MONTANA LAD (1), FRENCH GLOBE (7), WARNER (8), STUDLEIGH WILL (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 3-7-8-9
RACE FIVE
MAJOR LUCKY (3) was a winner here 4 starts back when easing from gate 6 prior to working home strongly to score a tidy win. Since that win he has continued to face tough gates, the latest when too far back from the 2nd line behind ESCALERA in a qualifier. With the improved gate he gets his chance. CHANCELESS CENTURY (6) is on the back-up from Friday at The Creek where he looked to have some hope. A winner over the mile 2 starts back when sent forward from gate 5 to take control, he followed that with a 2m 2nd from the 2nd line behind LEFT A HURRIKANE. He can throw it down here. JERONIMO JOE (7) is 1 of 3 horses stepping out for their 1st start for the Ryan Veivers barn tonight and the 5YO arrives with a last start Leeton victory. In the money at his past 3, he faces a tricky gate 1st up but can’t be dismissed. ROWDYS ACE (2) was a Marburg winner 5 runs back when taking them all the way. Barriers have not been his friend since that win but from this alley he can look to fire the 1st shot.
SELECTIONS: MAJOR LUCKY (3), CHANCELESS CENTURY (6), JERONIMO JOE (7), ROWDYS ACE (2) SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR LUCKY (3) to win
RACE SIX
SQUATTER SHANNON (5) has faced the starter twice in the Sunshine State and not much has gone right since arriving. Folding up at his 1st start over the AP 2138m trip, he was then not in a happy place 2nd up at the same trip and was banished to the trials. Earning the return with a tidy hit-out, he can be an improver in this grade. WESTERN SHOWGIRL (3) has really found her form and lines up in search of the hat-trick of victories and has also won 4 of her past 5 outings. Starting in red figures here last start, she sat back in the pack from the 2nd line before finishing over the top to claim a smart win. From the gate the threepeat looks on the cards. BARONE (9) opened his win account here 2 starts back when securing the cosy trip in behind the speed and then finishing best. Beaten by gate 6 last start, he is a podium chance from this alley. BARBOO (7) pressed forward from gate 4 last start to find a handy position but couldn’t go on with it in the closing stages. He looks set for a much easier trip here and can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: SQUATTER SHANNON (5), WESTERN SHOWGIRL (3), BARONE (9), BARBOO (7) SUGGESTED BET: SQUATTER SHANNON (5) to win
RACE SEVEN Great race coming up here where there is plenty of in-form horses on this track. PATCHWORK JET (9) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins at the 2040m. Set alight in at the 400m here last start, he descended on them quickly to cruise home to a 12m victory. There looks the right tempo for him to arrive once again. ALL GOOD WALLY (6) has won his past 2 outings here at the Triangle and has a 2nd at The Creek sandwiched between the wins. Wide off the track from gate 9 here last week, he had the closing momentum to score the narrowest of victories. The gate stings but he looks up to the challenge. SHADYS DELIGHT (7) eased from gate 5 here over this trip last time out. Making a wide run he was attacking the line to get within a flared nostril of the winner ALL GOOD WALLY. He will be probing and searching for the space to offer. SUNDOWNER SHANNON (2) arrives a last start Newcastle winner when opening his ledger for a maiden breaking win. Pressing forward to lead in that event, it could be a fruitful evening for the stable.
SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (9), ALL GOOD WALLY (6), SHADYS DELIGHT (7), SUNDOWNER SHANNON (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT WILLSINTOWN (7) will take some benefit from his latest outing when having his 1st outing in 6 weeks. Locked away from this same gate, he chased home to be mid-field. With the chance to settle one position closer, he can be dressed and ready to dance when the passing lane presents. ITMIGHTBEYOU (1) has been putting it all together recently and after being a maiden for so long has quickly put together 4 wins at her past 8 trips to the track. Taking them all the way here last week from this alley, there looks to be limited pressure drawn to the outside once again and she will give them something to gun down. HARRY CROFT (8) chimed in to grab 3rd at Marburg 2 starts back when working home wide out after starting outside the front line. The pegs look the play here and he can take the short-cuts to place. KID CALVERT (3) has claimed the bronze at 3 of his past 5 outings, the latest here last week when having an early look for the front but then forced to grind it out in the breeze. It looks a similar trip.
SELECTIONS: WILLSINTOWN (7), ITMIGHTBEYOU (1), HARRY CROFT (8), KID CALVERT (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-8
RACE NINE ROYAL ICING (3) will strip fitter from his Qld debut here last week where he was 1st up in 7 weeks. Making an immediate impact, he went straight to the front over this trip from gate 2 and once in control was never in danger in claiming a 3m victory. With the good gate, he can go back-to-back. WECANONLYHOPE (4) was wide off the track last start when trying to launch a claim but could not go with them in the latter stages in fading out. Striking trouble here 2 starts back, it followed a close-up effort when sent to the post as fav. Limiting the early burn can see her look to challenge. WATYOUSEEISWATUGET (6) does not receive many favours from the extreme gate here, yet she was strong to the line here last start from gate 9 to be 3m in arrears of ROYAL ICING. She can chime in. PRIVATE JUJON (8) retreated from gate 5 last start and was trying to work home late. That followed a 3rd placing when chasing home behind the in-form WESTERN SHOWGIRL. He is a place hope.
SELECTIONS: ROYAL ICING (3), WECANONLYHOPE (4), WATYOUSEEISWATUGET (6), PRIVATE JUJON (8) SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL ICING (3) to win
RACE TEN GLENCOE REIGN (8) was locked away from gate 1 over the AP mile 2 starts back and following the cosy trip chimed in to grab the bronze behind SIGNOR JUJON. Settling back in the pack from gate 3 last start, he had too many arrows in the quiver last start to arrive for victory by a head. With a similar trip he gets every chance for the repeat. ILLBEWATCHING (5) started as fav last start from gate 1 where he looked to get his chance for an all the way win. Setting the tempo, he couldn’t maintain the rage and was a beaten horse some way from home. A comfortable 11m winner when leading throughout from gate 4 here 3 starts back, he can look to atone. JASPERS AYR (1) stepped to the front from gate 1 here last week at her Qld debut and after a steady opening half, held on to claim the narrowest of victories. From the gate she will get her chance. ITS YOU NOT ME (7) has been runner-up at his past 3 in succession, the latest when 3m shy of the dictating ITMIGHTBEYOU after holding the pocket trail. He will be probing for the gaps again here.
SELECTIONS: GLENCOE REIGN (8), ILLBEWATCHING (5), JASPERS AYR (1), ITS YOU NOT ME (7) SUGGESTED BET: GLENCOE REIGN (8) to win
