RACE TWO

ROLL ONE OVER (2) made full use of the inside gate to take them all the way in claiming a qualifying win here 4 starts back. Following that with a tough win in the breeze, wide gates have been his undoing in the past 2 appearances. With the improved gate he gets every chance to dictate.

DEECAESAR (12) made a mess of things in the early stages and as a result is banished to the ODM position. Despite the error, he chased valiantly and was making good closing ground to still be within 7m of the winner. His run 3 starts back was full of merit and he can look to issue a challenge here.

ELMS CREEK (1) eased from gate 5 over this trip 2 starts back when closing out in good order to be 8m from the winner MOHS EM DOWN. Chasing hard from this gate last start, he can chime in late.

HURRICANE ROY (9) claimed a qualifying win here last week when angled back to the passing lane to make a challenge and arrive on the wire to score. Buried away the start prior, he can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: ROLL ONE OVER (2), DEECAESAR (12), ELMS CREEK (1), HURRICANE ROY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ROLL ONE OVER (2) to win

RACE THREE

SMITHSTARS LEXUS (10) hit the target at his 1st look at The Creek when talking on the mile trip and settling in the running line from a 2nd line gate. Finishing over the top to claim a smart win, it had followed a tidy effort when not too far behind ATOMIC RED the start prior at Bathurst. With even luck in transit, he can arrive.

BLACKWHITEANDBLUE (1) set the tempo here 3 starts back over this trip when grabbed in the closing stages for a narrow 2nd with 2 subsequent winners coming from that event. Forced to do it the tough way last start, he was in for the fight in a strong effort to hold on and gets his chance here.

BETTERTHANAJEEP (5) was caught wide trying to secure position last start when retreating to work closer to the pegs. Working home nicely in the latter stages, it followed a tough trip in the breeze where he looks set to position here.

TACTICAL RESPONSE (7) was charging home in the closing stages over the 2138m last start to grab the bronze after starting from gate 11. Making an early error the start prior, he can be attacking late.

SELECTIONS: SMITHSTARS LEXUS (10), BLACKWHITEANDBLUE (1), BETTERTHANAJEEP (5), TACTICAL RESPONSE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

MARETTI (1)
has not tasted the spoils of victory for some time yet his recent efforts have been full of merit when forced to do it the tough way. Grinding it out from the breeze when only beaten a half-neck here 3 starts back, he was again doing it hard last start in sharp time. The gate gives him the opportunity for a breakthrough win.

DOUBLEDELIGHTBRIGADE (7) has gone bang, bang, bang since arriving in Qld with a trio of impressive victories to her name. Straight to the front last week from gate 3, she still had bullets to fire when claiming a 5m win. Too tough the start prior, this is a step up and the wide gate does her no favours, but she has been nothing but impressive.

SQUIRE (8) tried to capitalise on gate 1 last start when holding them wide and looking to lead all the way. In front all bar the last 5m, he went under by a half-head. With a cosy trip he will be probing.

SIR JULIAN (4) eased from gate 5 last start and when asked for the effort was charging home in the closing stages to be 2m from the winner CHANTREY in a blanket finish. That followed a similar run behind MISTER BRAZIL, and he can charge late again here.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (1), DOUBLEDELIGHTBRIGADE (7), SQUIRE (8), SIR JULIAN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8

RACE FIVE

OYSTER STRIDE (2) may have some ordinary numbers next to his name yet there have been genuine excuses and from this gate will get the chance to amend the scorecard. Gate 7 in a sizzling AT WEST POINT mile stung him last start as did a 2nd line gate in 3 of his previous 4. The improved gate can see him take on the lamp lighting duties and look to fight them off.

BUKTHSYSTEM (1) steps it up here but has the right gate to get the ideal trip for his pattern. A winner at 3 of his past 5, he scored a passing lane win last start in the Marburg to Albion Final which followed a smart heat victory. The gate is his friend here and he can chime in late.

THEARTOFINFUSION (5) was forced to roll the sleeves for the tough stuff over the 2138m last start and faded under the effort in slick time. 5m from the winner 2 starts back, he can settle handy to feature in this.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (6) was sent forward this gate last week in a similar event and taking control was in front until the closing strides, nabbed at the wire. Position will be key to his hopes again from the tough alley.

SELECTIONS: OYSTER STRIDE (2), BUKTHSYSTEM (1), THEARTOFINFUSION (5), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

The Albion Park Club have been rewarded for the initiative of adding these races to the program with a strong line-up of 2YOs to do battle. With the good gate it is hard to look past HE AINT FAKIN (2) who was huge in victory last start in running a sub 53 mile. Fitter for that hit-out where he was 2nd up from a spell, he looks set to give them the target.

JASPER (11) started from inside the 2nd line in the APG Brisbane Final last week and was soon into the running line to avoid a pocket. Making a wide run around them, she made a closing dive to get within a neck of victory. The gate is a real dampener again but look for her attacking in the stretch.

CAPTAIN CRUSADER (7) is in search of a hat-trick after wins at Redcliffe and then here last time out when sweeping past them to take an 8m victory. A winner at 3 of his 6 career starts, he might need to do it the hard way here.

SCOTCH EN ICE (1) was locked away against the pegs last start and was game in setting out to chase HE AINT FAKIN when claiming 3rd. A smart all the way winner 2 starts back, he can be ready to snipe.

SELECTIONS: HE AINT FAKIN (2), JASPER (11), CAPTAIN CRUSADER (7), SCOTCH EN ICE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HE AINT FAKIN (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

AMAZING DREAM (10) was a scratching from her engagement here last week when set to make her maiden Qld appearance. A winner at 8 of her 9 starts, she beat the boys last time out in claiming the Northern Derby at Auckland. She will need to be on task from the tough gate with some speed off the front, but her class looks set to shine through.

UNCLE JORD (6) was sent forward to do it the tough way last start when grinding away outside the leader over the mile. A red figure fav in that contest, he held on for the silver behind THATS HOW WEROLL. Chasing AT WEST POINT in slick miles his previous 2, he will be in for the fight again here.

IMASPORTSSTAR (3) worked home wide off the track here 2 starts back to grab the silver behind the dictating winner KEY LARGO. Trying to eat into the deficit last start as WILL THE WIZARD took the prize, he can be thereabouts in this.

VIENNA BOY (2) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start when probing for openings that did not arrive. A winner here 3 starts back defeating CRUNCH TIME, the gate helps.

SELECTIONS: AMAZING DREAM (10), UNCLE JORD (6), IMASPORTSSTAR (3), VIENNA BOY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: AMAZING DREAM (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

DELIGHTFUL TARA (3) snagged back from gate 6 last start and was looking to be facing a forlorn task. Slicing between traffic, she was the widest runner on the turn before sprouting wings to charge down the outside and be 2m from the winner. Back to mares only from this gate is a huge plus.

SMART AS CAMM BE (7) returned exactly how she left, living up to her name when charging home to score over the 2138m. The style of the win appeared that she had not had over 12 months on the sidelines, and she should only strip fitter for the run. The gate is a stinger, but she is all class and win 14 from start 17 is well within reach.

NIMAH FRANCO (1) makes her Qld debut and lines up off the back of an eye-catching trial. Locked away in transit, when forced into the clear, she attacked the line strongly. A soft trip suits 1st up.

JERADAS DELIGHT (8) is yet to miss the board in her 3 Qld starts with a win and a pair of placings. Hitting the line in good order last start behind SMART AS CAMM BE, she looks set for an easy trip.

SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL TARA (3), SMART AS CAMM BE (7), NIMAH FRANCO (1), JERADAS DELIGHT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: DELIGHTFUL TARA (3) to win

RACE NINE

A tricky trot to dissect here with a capacity field and a few getting back to the front tape which changes the dynamic. If able to secure open runway on the taxi home, WEE MAN TROUBLE (11) is capable of out-speeding them to the wire. His closing panels last start were brilliant for a square-gaiter after retreating from a wide gate under the mobile conditions. Is worth a shot in this.

GREG THE GREAT (13) is in the zone, lining up here for a hat-trick of wins in a 7 day stretch. Putting the power on to take them all the way last week over the mobile mile, he established a new track record and followed that on Tues with victory over the 2647m trip. Can he take the middle distance stand to complete a 7-day set?

CASTLEREAGH (7) worked forward to take on the leading duties mid-week over the 2647m when leading the deep into the stretch before GREG THE GREAT arrived. Off the front tape he can feature.

MIRACLE RISING (3) started from the 20m tape here last time out and was working hard in the run when facing the breeze. The return to a front-line tape is a huge plus for his chances and with his smart early manners will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: WEE MAN TROUBLE (11), GREG THE GREAT (13), CASTLEREAGH (7), MIRACLE RISING (3)
SUGGESTED BET: WEE MAN TROUBLE (11) each-way

RACE TEN

CRUZ (6) was away from the inside in the early stages last start and was forced to work in the run over the 2138m when he had no answer for them, fading to be 6m in arrears of the winner. That had followed a threepeat of victories including a pair of sub 51 miles. Despite the widest gate, the return to the mile can see him bounce back with venom.

KID MONTANA (5) was left wavering last start after doing the work in the breeze and coming in down the line over the 2138m behind FAME ASSURED. Not much went his way the start prior when trailing them in but his win here 3 starts back over the long trip was superb when finishing hard over the top. The small field is in his favour and he can challenge.

LILAC FLASH (1) started from this gate last week and was soon buried 3 back against the poles and looking for space. He may have been closer with a cleaner passage as he was probing for the gaps to offer a meaningful challenge. The pocket trail will be all-important if he can hold it- from there he can feature.

SELECTIONS: CRUZ (6), KID MONTANA (5), LILAC FLASH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CRUZ (6) to win
