RACE TWO
YOU REALLY GOT ME (4) has made errors in both starts since arriving in Qld, the latest when facing the breeze and looming strongly turning for home. With no returns in 5 attempts from the mobile, he has shown the ability, just needs to sort the tractability and gets his chance to put it on display against these opponents. ORLANDO JOLT (9) eased from a wide position to find the poles when making his Qld debut and followed home for a mid-field finish. Given the challenge of taking on the grass track and the pacers last start at Kilcoy, he will be fitter again for the outing and can look to make a bold play in this. DOWN UNDER RORS (1) added another minor to the tally last start when locked away before making a closing dive to be 1.5m from the winner MALABAR SPUR. With the easy trip he will be probing again. KAPAI (3) has placed in 3 of his 6 outings from the mobile and has shown good speed when the arms fold. Making an error last start and still only 4m in arrears, he can be thereabouts in this line-up. SELECTIONS: YOU REALLY GOT ME (4), ORLANDO JOLT (9), DOWN UNDER RORS (1), KAPAI (3) SUGGESTED BET: YOU REALLY GOT ME (4) to win
RACE THREE
MAYWYN TROUBADOR (1) made an error in the early stages here on Monday with his chance vaporising in the process. Digging in for the fight the start prior when within 1.5m of the winner after working hard in the run, if he can get back on track with his gait, he should find this a touch easier and make the most of his chances. RANCHO MAN (5) has placed at his past 2 starts and with early speed out of the machine can be looking to fire the opening shots here. Forced to race first over here on Monday, he was game after the tough run and hampered by a flattened tyre. With the right trip he can challenge. ROCK THE HOUSE (4) eased from gate 4 over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back before charging home in the closing stages to be 3m in arrears of the winner. Locked away last start, he can swoop. TRIOLI (2) started inside the 2nd line last start and did not have the smoothest passage home when finishing mid-field. Not much went his way the start prior and from this gate he can feature.
SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (1), RANCHO MAN (5), ROCK THE HOUSE (4), TRIOLI (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR The early speed looks strong in this and the pressure looks set to be maintained in the run. With that scenario playing out WANJIRU (10) can look to be saved for a closing volley. Kept fresh since her last start when only 2.5m in arrears of the winner in a blanket finish after leading them up, she can arrive. BLUE SHARD (5) added another minor to his tally last start when finishing with the silver when 6m from the dictating winner BOULDER CITY. Snagged back from gate 7 the start prior, he was closing strongly when 5m from the winner SONNY ORLANDO. KOTARE ELITE (2) has early speed and from this gate will be looking to find the pegs. Setting the speed last time out but unable to finish them off, her run 2 back when 3rd in a mares qualifier was a tidy effort. Needs to limit the burn. GOALKICKER (3) has been the runner-up in 3 of her past 4 outings, the latest here on Monday when cutting the breeze from gate 7 and fighting hard to be 3m from the winner. She is not far away when conditions suit.
SELECTIONS: WANJIRU (10), BLUE SHARD (5), KOTARE ELITE (2), GOALKICKER (3) SUGGESTED BET: WANJIRU (10) to win
RACE FIVE PARAVANI (3) found the pegs 1st from gate prior to releasing and then was soon shuffled 3 back on the poles and stuck for open road to offer. Only 2m in arrears of the winner NURBURGRING 3 starts back, it followed a similar margin behind IDEAL WORLD. He looks to get his chance to cash-in here. NOTORIOUS (6) delivered the hat-trick last start when arriving up the passing lane to knock the castle over in the last stride for a narrow win. Both victories leading into the latest success had come when leading all the way with the latest when releasing the speed. He will throw it down in this. BLISSFULDAY (2) is in top form with wins at 4 of his past 5 starts with a 2nd placing in the other outing when narrowly beaten by subsequent winner PETITE PAREE. This is a step-up but he is in the mix. B MAC C (7) was locked down on the poles last start in the Members Cup and did not have the smoothest passage in finding open road to make a closing challenge. The gate stings, but he is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: PARAVANI (3), NOTORIOUS (6), BLISSFULDAY (2), B MAC C (7) SUGGESTED BET: PARAVANI (3) to win
RACE SIX ALWAYS A SECRET (1) sat back in the pack from a 2nd line alley here last start in the Members Cup as war was declared in front through the opening lap. When given his cues, he was powering home wide off the track to claim victory by 3m in stylish fashion. Too strong the start prior, he has the options to capitalise. THE FORTUNATE SON (8) was banished to the trials last start after drifting up the track when leading over the mile in a qualifier. Holding on to finish 4th behind L L COOL J, it had followed a power running mile in 1.51.6 the start prior. With 2nd line options he can look to make a challenge. FRANCO HAMPTON (6) returns from a spell after really putting it together at the end of his last preparation. Shut down following a top-two finish at his past 5 in succession, he has no favours from the gate but cannot be overlooked. ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) found the front from this gate over the middle-distance last start prior to releasing for the trail on the smart 4YO L L COOL J. He can fire the early shots again here to feature. SELECTIONS: ALWAYS A SECRET (1), THE FORTUNATE SON (8), FRANCO HAMPTON (6), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS A SECRET (1) to win
RACE SEVEN
OAXACAN DREAM (1) is a 3YO filly stepping out in Aus for the 1st time after joining the Cross stable from the South Island of NZ. A winner of 3 of her 7 race starts, she was last seen when successful at Addington back in September scoring over the 1980m trip. With all the options she can open her Aus account in style. LARRY LINCOLN (10) answered the question about the middle-distance last start when trailing the field in as BLACKSADANCE dictated in front. His 3 failures here at The Creek have been over the 2138m while the 5 outings at the mile have all been victories. Hate the gate but a smile for the mile. ALE ALE KAI (8) started inside the 2nd line at the non-passing lane Marburg circuit last start and never really had a shot at them. Hitting the line in good style the start prior, she should enjoy this trip. ITS SUPER EASY (3) secured an easy ride ion behind the speed last start over the 2138m trip and when the gap opened had bullets to fire. Wide off the track the start prior, he can settle close to feature.
SELECTIONS: OAXACAN DREAM (1), LARRY LINCOLN (10), ALE ALE KAI (8), ITS SUPER EASY (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-10
RACE EIGHT Tough contest to crack open here where the 2138m adds an extra element to the mix. Despite the carpark gate, MONTANA LAD (12) might just get the right cart into this to knock them off. His last start effort on the grass at Kilcoy was sound after a freshen which had followed successive Redcliffe wins. Just needs the tempo. HUNTAWAY (3) does not look suited by the distance, but he has the early speed to find position and then avail the options. Starting from inside the 2nd line at his past 2 starts has seen him pegged away 3 back on each occasion and trying to sprint late. If limiting the early burn, he can feature. ROYAL OBSESSION (7) will take benefit from his latest offering when 1st up in Qld. Locked away from inside the 2nd line, he never got the chance to make a play. The gate stings but he can be chiming in. HIT THE TRACK (1) tried to take them all the way last start at Marburg but could not see it out when finishing with the silver. Finishing over the top of them 3 starts back at the Redcliffe 2040m trip, the gate is his friend here.
SELECTIONS: MONTANA LAD (12), HUNTAWAY (3), ROYAL OBSESSION (7), HIT THE TRACK (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE OUR UNCLE JIM (9) rolled forward for an easy lead last start from gate 3 over the 2138m and once in control was never in danger when cruising home to a comfortable 11m victory. Only 5m from subsequent Members Cup winner ALWAYS A SECRET the start prior, he can get the trip to take this. PROSECUTION WITNESS (2) will take good benefit from his 1st up run in Qld when stepping out for the 1st time in 3 months. Buried away from inside the 2nd line, he was attacking the line in good fashion to grab the silver when 1m from the winner. Settling handy he can look to make a play. MADAMOISELLE JUJON (5) speared out to take control in a qualifier last start over the mile and kept a solid tempo in front. Unable to see it out, she held on for the silver. Super consistent, she can feature. NEWPORT DREAMZ (8) was sent to the post as fav last start at Redcliffe when obliged to roll the sleeves for the tough stuff. 4m in arrears of the winner, he will be probing for the openings here.
SELECTIONS: OUR UNCLE JIM (9), PROSECUTION WITNESS (2), MADAMOISELLE JUJON (5), NEWPORT DREAMZ (8) SUGGESTED BET: OUR UNCLE JIM (9) to win
RACE TEN LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (11) arrives with the Cross juggernaut and in 4 starts since joining that barn has been runner-up twice before winning his last 2 in succession. Pressing on to take control from gate 6 last start over the Menangle mile, he scored an easy victory. The gate hurts but he has the edge. TACTICAL RESPONSE (2) lands a good alley as he looks for a deserved victory. Running super sectionals in his races of late without landing victory, he would have won if the race another 5 metres longer here last start. Charging home in the closing strides, he will be throwing it down here. SPEEDY DOMINIC (1) was a winner here 4 starts back when stepping out in Qld for the 1st time and scoring via the passing lane. Wide off the track from a tough gate last start, the inside line suits here. IDEAL WORLD (12) settled back in the pack over this trip last start before attacking the line in some smart closing panels. Gunned down after leading them up here 2 starts back, he can chime in late.
SELECTIONS: LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (11), TACTICAL RESPONSE (2), SPEEDY DOMINIC (1), IDEAL WORLD (12) SUGGESTED BET: LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (11) to win
