RACE TWO
FAST TRACKER (5) resumed from a spell here 3 starts back when easing from gate 4 to find position before making a closing challenge for the bronze. Working home strongly last start behind the short-priced BOOMCHUCKALUCKA to grab 3rd, he looks to have found conditions to breakthrough here. PLATINUM PROMISE (8) makes his 1st outing in Qld for the flying Graham Dwyer barn and will be 1st up since early November. Arriving with a win and 3 minors in 10 outings, the half-brother to the gun FOUROEIGHT can look to start his Northern campaign in style. BEE GEES BEST (7) is still learning what the racing game is all about and last start was racing green when down the line. Forced to work hard in defeat 2 starts back, if he settles in behind the speed, he can join in. JOY MAKER (2) did not have the smoothest passage last start when down the line which had followed a best of the rest 2nd behind the smart winner REGINA ELENA. From the gate she has claims. SELECTIONS: FAST TRACKER (5), PLATINUM PROMISE (8), BEE GEES BEST (7), JOY MAKER (2) SUGGESTED BET: FAST TRACKER (5) to win
RACE THREE SCOTCH EN ICE (9) resumes from a spell without a public trial to prepare. Opening his account 2 starts back when leading throughout and ripping home a smart closing panel, he was shut down following a 3rd to the handy HE AINT FAKIN. The gate makes it tough, but he can be chugging home. AURORA ROSE (5) returned from a break in good order when arriving from back in the pack to claim a maiden breaking victory. Retreating from this gate last start and too far back to make a challenge behind the handy MY ULTIMATE LOUIE last start, she features in a stable switch to join the Peter Greig yard and can challenge in this line-up. MELTON XMAS GIRL (2) speared out from gate 4 here 3 starts back to find the front and once in control held on to score. Beaten by 2nd line gates her past 2 outings, the return to the front suits. GEORGEZILLA (6) will be 1st up since February and comes into this with a lone trial under his belt. Opening his account with a win from the pocket trail last start, the wide gate hurts but he is a place chance.
SELECTIONS: SCOTCH EN ICE (9), AURORA ROSE (5), MELTON XMAS GIRL (2), GEORGEZILLA (6) SUGGESTED BET: SCOTCH EN ICE (9) to win
RACE FOUR SHERBETS CHOICE (4) will take good fitness from his 1st up victory here last start when resuming from a spell. Holding them wide from the ace, he was able to get an easy opening half and then keep them chasing. He steps up against some more experienced rivals here but can look to capitalise. GHOST GUM (1) made an uncharacteristic error at Tamworth last start that ended his chances. Landing the 2nd line at his past 3 in succession, he was a winner from this alley over this trip 4 runs back when leading them all the way from this same alley. He can look to make the most of conditions here. SHEZ GOT BLING (7) started fav last time out over the sprint trip from gate 1 but did not have a sprint to go with them. Working home strongly here 2 starts back, she will be searching for a way clear. BRONSKI MACARENA (5) was a winner here 3 starts back when taking the trail and then using the passing lane to arrive. Runner-up on in both starts since, she can join in late here.
SELECTIONS: SHERBETS CHOICE (4), GHOST GUM (1), SHEZ GOT BLING (7), BRONSKI MACARENA (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE ROYAL OBSESSION (1) has been knocking on the door and looks to have found conditions to have it open for him here. Starting from inside the 2nd line last start, he was chasing and could not eat into the deficit as BLUES TERROR arrived. Placed his previous 3 in succession, he can look to take advantage of the alley. BLUES TERROR (4) made a perfect start to his Qld career when proving too strong from the breeze last starts. Tackling the 2040m trip, he was content to do the heavy lifting and cruised home with 6m to spare. Fitter for that outing and added experience at his 1st look at The Triangle, he can look to repeat the feat. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (8) retreated from gate 5 here last start to find the poles and look for the short-cuts. The peg line could be an option again here and if the tempo is strong, she can swoop late. MISTER COLE (7) eased from gate 4 to find position last start and chasing against the tempo was always facing a task. Strong to the line the start prior behind MAJORDOIT, he will be probing for a gap to join in.
SELECTIONS: ROYAL OBSESSION (1), BLUES TERROR (4), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (8), MISTER COLE (7) SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL OBSESSION (1) to win
RACE SIX NIFTY STUDLEIGH (8) was beaten by gate 6 last start and never really looked comfortable in transit when down the line behind GO ANNE GO. If able to reproduce the type of run that saw him within 5m of the winner over the AP mile 4 starts back, he might just be able to put them away in a tricky event. CONDAFEW (9) has slid down the ratings as he continues an extended winless streak, however he may have found a suitable race here to end the year back on top. It did not go to plan last start at Tamworth and the start prior he was probing for gaps. Just needs a rub of the green. ALL GOOD (5) worked home in good order from the 2nd line here 2 runs back to grab the silver behind subsequent winner HEADWIN. Holding on for the bronze from a tough gate last start, he can feature in this. WILLSINTOWN (2) has early speed and from the gate can look to fire the first shot here. Down the line when chasing in recent starts, he does his best work at the pointy end and can join in here. SELECTIONS: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (8), CONDAFEW (9), ALL GOOD (5), WILLSINTOWN (2) SUGGESTED BET: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (8) to win
RACE SEVEN
Plenty of form in this race and the early speed and tempo looks crucial to the chances of a few of the poorly drawn. Leaning to BETTOR MEMORIES (1) who should get the perfect trip in behind the speed and be ready to scoot the sprint lane. Forced to hang tough when first over last start, she can take the snipers shot here. MISTER FINNIGAN (6) has been stung with the car park alley and will be relying on some factors in particular the tempo being in his favour. Securing the pocket trail 2 starts back before being right lined to power home to victory, he was closing hard last start for 2nd. Look for him charging. ABERCROMBIE TAB (8) is a model of consistency and chalked up another win last start and now has smart figures of 3 wins and 7 minors in 13 outings here. Too strong from the breeze last start, he will not be far away. SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (2) has hit the board at her past 4 in succession, the latest when hitting the line in good order behind BLUES TERROR. With an improved gate, she can fire the early shots here.
SELECTIONS: BETTOR MEMORIES (1), MISTER FINNIGAN (6), ABERCROMBIE TAB (8), SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-8
RACE EIGHT The last race of the season in Qld where despite some ordinary numbers at his past 2 and yet to hit the board in 4 outings here at The Triangle, RANIERI (3) might just be able to capitalise. Down the line last start in a strong qualifier behind STRADDIE. If able to settle to take control, he might just take some stitching in a wide-open event. LITTLE CHANGE (9) has a super record at the track and drops back to Thursday grade after meeting some strong races of late. Only 5m in arrears of CARLA CLARE last start after diving back to the passing lane, his run 3 starts back behind CHEVRONS REWARD was a tidy effort. He can throw down the challenge. KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (8) can provide some symmetry to the season if he were to be successful as the Alex Cain/Paul Diebert combo won the first race of the season. A winner here 4 back when leading throughout, he placed at his next 2 before the gate was his undoing last start. He can chime in here. TUAPEKA LIGHT (5) has a better than 50% winning strike-rate here at the track and despite a sticky alley might secure the right cart into the contest to make a closing play. Only 3m from MACH LE MORE last start after copping gate 6, look for her late.
SELECTIONS: RANIERI (3), LITTLE CHANGE (9), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (8), TUAPEKA LIGHT (5) SUGGESTED BET:
