Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that the Aquis Park Gold Coast TC race meeting today, Saturday February 20, has been abandoned following a track inspection, the outcome of which was that the racing surface has been deemed unsafe to race on.
An area of the track from approximately the 700m point to the home turn was considered the most unsafe section of the track following the heavy rainfall which has fallen over recent days, with there being no possibility that the track might improve prior to the meeting’s scheduled commencement time.
RQ will consider programming /alternatives as a consequence of racing opportunities lost through the abandonment.
