The Rising Sun conditions

The $250,000 Group 1 The Rising Sun will be staged at Albion Park on Saturday, July 10 as part of the TAB Queensland Constellations.

Given the interest in the inaugural running of The Rising Sun (including the opening of pre-nomination betting markets), Racing Queensland and the Albion Park Harness Racing Club wish to clarify the conditions of the race. This includes:

• The race is open to 3YO and 4YO pacers with fields selected via manual field selection; 
• The distance for the race is 2138m;
• The field size for the event will be 12 plus one emergency with no limits on the number of 3YO or 4YOs to be selected in the final field (other than field size capacity and subject to invites refer below);
• The race is a preferential draw on age/sex; 
• The race stake is $250,000 with 3YOs eligible for a $100,000 bonus should they win the race;
• RQ and APHRC reserve the right to invite up to two 3YOs and two 4YOs to the race whom will be ballot exempt providing they are nominated for the Race. 

At this point in time the following horses have been invited:

3YOs:

• Patsbeachstorm
• Krug NZ

4YOs:

• Copy That NZ
• Expensive Ego

The connections of all four horses have accepted the invites and should the connections notify RQ of their decision to decline an invite, the invite can be be re-issued to a horse of the same age, solely at RQ and the APHRC’s discretion.
