Earlier this week, Racing Queensland advised that the 2021 TAB National Straight Track Championship had been postponed due to the impact of COVID-19.
The Capalaba Greyhound Club will nevertheless proceed with conducting the Queensland Straight Track Championship on Sunday 1 August (heats) and Sunday 8 August (final). The Queensland Straight Track Championship final will carry prizemoney of $5,000 to the winner.
Conditions for the Queensland Straight Track Championship remain the same as those that applied for the NSTC with a greyhound eligible to be nominated if it has been domiciled in Queensland for at least 76 of the 150 days immediately preceding the Nomination Closing Date (Thursday 29 July at 9.30am). Maidens are ineligible for the series.
The Queensland Straight Track Championship will be a standalone event and is NOT a qualifying event for the postponed NSTC.
New dates for the state qualifiers and the NSTC final at Capalaba will be announced as soon as possible.
