RACE TWO Needing some factors in his favour from this alley, if CRAZY SHIPPO (8) has things go his way, he looks to get his chance. Eased from gate 6 last start, he sat rearward before closing out in nice order to be 5m from the winner. He could have been closer than the 4m margin the start prior with better luck and just needs a slice of luck. HERBS HERO (9) should find this a little easier than his last start where he took on a strong qualifier dictated by KIWIS ARE FLYING. Runner-up the start prior when flashing home behind THE RONCKNROLL KING, he can be tucked in behind the action ready to make a closing challenge. LIFEOFBRIAN (4) looked to have the perfect conditions last week from gate 9. Securing the 1x1 trail, he could not get into the contest as THE HUMMER landed the prize. He can be thereabouts. MEGA STAR (1) is on the back-up from Thursday at Redcliffe where he had claims. A winner here 5 starts back when sent forward early, he will need to burrow through but in front can give a sight.
SELECTIONS: CRAZY SHIPPO (8), HERBS HERO (9), LIFEOFBRIAN (4), MEGA STAR (1) SUGGESTED BET: CRAZY SHIPPO (8) to win IN PLAY: Early speed watch here to see if MEGA STAR can hold the front and if he does, that would put CRAZY SHIPPO in the ideal position to strike. LIFEOFBRIAN could be the one forced to do the work.
RACE THREE Graduating to open company with a bang 3 starts back BLACKSADANCE (1) started from this same gate and put on a power-running display to hold off his rivals and chalk up a PB mile in 1.51.8. Sent for a freshen, he has been super in 2 runs back, finishing as the runner-up in both and lands the gate to keep them chasing. REPLACED EYE (8) bounced back to winning form last start when finding the pocket trail and making the closing shot a winning one, arriving in the last stride over the 2138m. The mile is more to his liking and with the cosy trip on offer once again, he will have the crosshairs on the leader to take the snipers shot. SPEECH IS SILVER (5) ended up too deep in the pack last start and against the tempo was never going to be a factor as NORTHVIEW HUSTLER claimed the prize. Settling closer will aid his cause. COLT THIRTY ONE (2) was away from the inside 2nd line early last week to move up to sit parked over the 2138m. Applying no pressure, the race developed into a turn and burn, and NORTHVIEW HUSTLER had the hand to capitalise. Game in holding 2nd, he looks set to work again. SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (1), REPLACED EYE (8), SPEECH IS SILVER (5), COLT THIRTY ONE (2) SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (1) to win IN PLAY: The main watch will be on the clock here on how hard BLACKSADANCE needs to run it. If able to pinch the second panel, you would expect he will have bullets to fire. COLT THIRTY ONE might be forced to sit outside the leader which is less than ideal at this tempo. SPEECH IS SILVER will need to be closer in transit to utilise his closing speed, REPLACED EYE will be stalking.
RACE FOUR Just a front line for this veteran’s race where JONAH JONES (4) is the only competitor to bring a win in their past 5 starts to the table and from this gate can get the trip to maintain that number. That win was 4 starts back via the passing lane while he was strong to the line for the silver behind TWENTYEIGHTBLACK 2 starts back. JUMPING JACK JIMMY (2) was in super form before hitting a few speed bumps. Sent for a let-up, he should be approaching full fitness after 4 runs back, the latest here on Tuesday where he had to hang tough as AT WEST POINT ran a sharp mile. With the speed to control this early, he can challenge. VINNY CHASE (5) should appreciate a return to the front line after his past 4 outings have all been off the 2nd row. In for the fight when sent to the breeze here last Saturday, he is in the mix. SAM IS PERFECTION (7) sat in the running line last start and was picking off some late metres when grabbing 3rd to TWENTYEIGHTBLACK. Despite the tough gate, the small field is in his favour. SELECTIONS: JONAH JONES (4), JUMPING JACK JIMMY (2), VINNY CHASE (5), SAM IS PERFECTION (7) SUGGESTED BET: JONAH JONES (4) to win IN PLAY: Just the small field where JUMPING JACK JIMMY will be trying to turn around his form. JONAH JONES could be the play if slotting in and the tempo is too hot. The smaller field will also help SAM IS PERFECTION and if he can float in behind them, can be close enough to strike.
RACE FIVE OUR BONDI BEACH (1) showed some early hustle here on Tuesday before slotting in for the trail and was then best of the chasers behind the power-running AT WEST POINT. With the ideal barrier to suit his pattern, he loves the passing lane and if he can hit the lane with momentum, will take some holding out. BITCOIN (3) was required to roll the sleeves and do the heavy lifting here 2 starts back in mid-week company when finishing 1m from the passing lane winner THE DEMOCRAT. Eased from gate 6 last start to settle rearward, he laid out some slick closing panels over the 2138m despite not featuring and looms large in this. STREET APPEAL (6) made a costly error last start but still returned a tidy effort under the circumstances. Not too far from ROCK FISHERMAN the start prior, he will fire some early bullets. SLICK BLASTER (2) started from the five-hole last start when sent forward to sit parked over the 2138m trip. In for the fight, he held the silver behind the fast-finishing MAJOR FERNCO and can feature again. SELECTIONS: OUR BONDI BEACH (1), BITCOIN (3), STREET APPEAL (6), SLICK BLASTER (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-6 IN PLAY: Early speed here will be critical as will be where they land. OUR BONDI BEACH holds all the cards, as he should have the speed to dictate who he lets go. If STREET APPEAL takes up the running, it will be a clock watch on the early speed, as he will need a breather to finish it off. BITCOIN might have the required versatility here.
RACE SIX Hitting good areas at Redcliffe in recent outings with wins in 3 of his past 4 starts, CHASING THE WIND (1) will look to bring that form to headquarters. Sitting parked last start, he was able to graft out a strong victory in slick time over the 1780m. Landing all the favours from gate 1 gives him every chance. BEAST MODE (9) was sent to the post as fav here last week from gate 1. Stretched out hard in the early stages, he was crossed before moving out for the retake and then handing over for the trail. Making a closing challenge to be just a half-head in arrears, he will be throwing it down once more. THE IDEAL DANCER (5) finally cashed-in here last week after seemingly having the hoof on the till for quite a few months. Powering home from gate 10 to arrive, he comes up with a sticky gate in search of the repeat. GLENAEGLE WARRIOR (7) has no favours from this alley but is never far from the action. A beaten fav last start over this trip when under 1.5m from the winner, he can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: CHASING THE WIND (1), BEAST MODE (9), THE IDEAL DANCER (5), GLENAEGLE WARRIOR (7) SUGGESTED BET: CHASING THE WIND (1) to win IN PLAY: Another early speed watch, where, if CATCHING THE WIND can get an easy lead and walk them early, he should have plenty left to finish them off. BEAST MODE burnt plenty of petrol early last week and was still strong late, he can be close enough to strike while THE IDEAL DANCER ended his AP hoodoo last week, can he step up again to knock them off?
RACE SEVEN Continuing a consistent run of form, ROCK FISHERMAN (6) lines up from the tricky gate but has hit the board his past 6 on the bounce which includes 4 wins. Pressing on to take control last start from gate 3 at the mile, he was able stave off the challengers to net a smart victory. Game in defeat when just a head from SCARLET BABE the start prior, he can reel them in again. WAHS FIRE BUG (4) was sent around them in the early stages last start from the 2nd line and did plenty of work in the run. In for the fight in a strong mile when under 2m from the winner ROCK FISHERMAN, it continued a super consistent stretch of 10 successive placed runs, 9 of those in Saturday night company. THE DEMOCRAT (1) lands all the favours from this alley and has the early speed required to dictate his position. A passing lane winner last start from inside the 2nd line, he can make a play. KEY LARGO (8) was able to find the front from gate 6 last week and after pinching a 2nd stanza had enough in the tank to fight them off. Running top-2 his past 5 starts, he will be probing here. SELECTIONS: ROCK FISHERMAN (6), WAHS FIRE BUG (4), THE DEMOCRAT (1), KEY LARGO (8) SUGGESTED BET: ROCK FISHERMAN (6) to win IN PLAY: Early mapping here could be critical. THE DEMOCRAT has the speed to lead but has been run down the past 2 times he has led and is a last start passing lane winner. WAHS FIRE BUG has early hustle and can work and the clock on ROCK FISHERMAN against his early burn with Gemma Hewitt having her first Qld drive aboard the pacer she trains.
RACE EIGHT This is the first of two mares’ qualifiers for the night with this one marginally stronger than the combatants in race 9. MOLLYS SECRET (6) has been finishing her races strongly, claiming the bronze at her past 2 in succession, the latest when charging home last week and under 5m from the winner. The gate stings but this appeals. FAIRIESDELIGHT (4) had to do it the tough way last start when parked and despite the tough trip, was still giving at the line when 4m from the winner. Not suited over the 2138m the start prior, she looks the leerie here and will be looking to light every lamp to the wire. MOLLIESMARYELLE (9) held the pocket trail from gate 1 here 3 starts back and with the soft trip in behind the speed held on for the silver. 5m from LAVAZAA 2 starts back, she can chime in. OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7) has been met with strong market support in all 3 of her Qld starts and been unable to deliver. Snagged from this gate last start, she was never in the mix and faces the tough alley again. SELECTIONS: MOLLYS SECRET (6), FAIRIESDELIGHT (4), MOLLIESMARYELLE (9), OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7) SUGGESTED BET: MOLLYS SECRET (6) to win IN PLAY: All eyes early here on FAIRIESDELIGHT if she can get a cheap lead. If that scenario unfolds a return to the mile will suit and she will prove tough to gun down. OUR ANTONIO ROSE has not looked a threat and will likely be back in the pack again. If MOLLYS SECRET can find position cheaply and the tempo is strong enough through the early to middle stages, she looks to own the closing power.
RACE NINE MAGGIE (3) started from this gate on Tuesday and with no position available soon found herself along way off the leader. With the leader pinching a second stanza breather, it was always a big task for the chasers. Beaten a lip the start prior when charging home, this is open and within reach. BETTOR MEMORIES (1) took the trail from this same alley last week before taking the passing lane shot to come up just a head shy of the prize. Eased from gate 6 at the mile 2 starts back, she was strong to the line in the closing stages for the bronze and from the gate can throw it down. SHEZ ALL STYLE (2) took control early before releasing here on Tuesday and was then best of the chasers behind the progressive 3YO ITZ CHEROKEE JACK. Back to mares only is a big plus. CHEESANDKISSES (5) was near the rear last start and was then deep in the pack when trying to launch a closing raid. Beaten by gate 7 the start prior, settling closer to the action will aid her chances. SELECTIONS: MAGGIE (3), BETTOR MEMORIES (1), SHEZ ALL STYLE (2), CHEESANDKISSES (5) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-5 IN PLAY: If SHEZ ALL STYLE can find the front with ease, she can give plenty of cheek in front. Although releasing here on Tuesday, back to mares only in this line-up, they may be more inclined to hold. That would give BETTOR MEMORIES a knock-out hope, she charged home last start from behind the leader, while MAGGIE and her position in the run may not be ideal.
RACE TEN A newcomer to the Sunshine State stepping out for the first time, don’t be fooled by the poor numbers next to the name of STRESS FACTOR (3). Not only has he been running in some strong races, but he also arrives extremely well graded. With a sharp trial hit out to prepare, he can make a winning start. GEE UP NEDDY (4) should appreciate the big lift in the handicaps after starting from a 40m impost under the conditions at his past 2 starts. Striking trouble last start, 2 starts back he was charging home when just a neck shy of victory behind NORTHERN MUSCLE. The 10m is appealing. MAJESTIC SIMON (8) has been given a freshen since his last appearance when finding the front from gate 7 under mobile conditions but unable to finish it off. Making errors his previous 2 starts, he can look to bounce back into form. JUSTABITNOISY (1) has been moving closer to breaking the drought with placings in 4 of his past 5 starts, the latest when best of the chasers behind the flying SIR FAHRENHEIT. He will be probing. SELECTIONS: STRESS FACTOR (3), GEE UP NEDDY (4), MAJESTIC SIMON (8), JUSTABITNOISY (1) SUGGESTED BET: STRESS FACTOR (3) to win IN PLAY: Early watch in how they all step here with the ball firmly in the court of STRESS FACTOR. Has shown he is proficient from the tapes and if he steps straight to the front with ease, it will be a watch on the sectional clock if he can finish them off. MAJESTIC SIMON is fresh and has made errors his past 2, GEE UP NEDDY is normally a great beginner and the 10m looks ideal.
