RACE TWO Relying on some factors to fall in his favour from this alley, AIR TIME (8) can look to break a 12-month win drought. Finding the pocket trail here last week, he was making a late dive when grabbing 3rd to SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE which followed a gritty effort behind the same winner. OBI ONE (5) started from inside the second line last start and was soon buried away three back in the run. Probing for the gaps he was attacking the line in nice order to get within a half-neck of the winner. Tightened from that effort where he was second up from a break, he can challenge in this. THE GENERAL (1) eased from gate 6 last start to settle rearward over the mile before making a strong closing challenge to be within 2m of the winner BARKWAY ARNOLD. The gate is a big plus. BEAST MODE (2) claimed his first victory in Qld last start at Redcliffe when finishing best from the second line to claim victory. Runner-up to OYSTER STRIDE the start prior, he can be close enough to feature.
SELECTIONS: AIR TIME (8), OBI ONE (5), THE GENERAL (1), BEAST MODE (2) SUGGESTED BET: AIR TIME (8) to win
RACE THREE Compiling a smart record here at The Creek DEUS EX (10) boasts the figures of 12: 6-2-2, having finished as the runner-up at his past two in succession. Firing out of the machine to take control last start, he was worried out of it by SPEECH IS SILVER which followed a gritty effort after sitting parked outside GOVERNOR JUJON. Despite the gate, this is within reach. LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (2) should appreciate the drop back to this second tier after his three starts since arriving in Qld have all been in FFA company. From the pocket trail last start he could no go with them when the sprint went on. With early bullets to fire, it might just be a case if they can katch him. SCOOB OPERATOR (8) tackled open company last start and was also asked to roll the sleeves when doing the heavy lifting outside the leader. He will enjoy an economical trip here and be probing for gaps. OUR MAJOR DAY (3) settled in the 1x1 trail last start when resuming from a freshen in a tidy effort behind JONAH JONES. 8m from ROCKNROLL ICON here two starts back, he is a podium player. SELECTIONS: DEUS EX (10), LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (2), SCOOB OPERATOR (8), OUR MAJOR DAY (3) SUGGESTED BET: DEUS EX (10) to win
RACE FOUR After a last start victory in a Band 5 event, the conditions of this race look ideal for LE TISSIER (5) to continue his excellent form over the AP 2138m. Taking a seat after leading off the arm from the ace last start, he landed the prize up the passing lane. He took them all the way three starts back and with some tempo can strike. THE HERVEY BAY (1) started from inside the second line here on Tuesday and was soon buried and never a factor in the terrible conditions. Runner-up at his previous start when sent to sit parked and grinding it out from gate 7, he will need to hustle hard from the inside to make his challenge. IT AINT THE MONEY (7) has been in nice touch with wins in two of his past three starts, the latest when scoring a strong win in front over this trip last time. The gate stings, but he is in the mix. BE MY ROCK (2) was first up in Qld to starts back where he really caught the eye after moving up three-wide when the power was on up front and grabbing 2nd. Not suited in the slop here on Tuesday, he can be sharper from this alley. SELECTIONS: LE TISSIER (5), THE HERVEY BAY (1), IT AINT THE MONEY (7), BE MY ROCK (2) SUGGESTED BET: LE TISSIER (5) to win
RACE FIVE This race is the Team Teal lady driver’s invitation series and the draw lands ideally for BOMBADIER JUJON (1) with the penalty exemption an added carrot. Resuming from a spell from gate 5 last start, he never really got warm as COURAGEOUS SAINT closed out. The gate improvement is a big asset, and he gets every chance. SOHO SINATRA (8) started from outside the second line last start when sent forward in the middle stages to sit parked. After the tough trip, he faded late as IT AINT THE MONEY kept them chasing. That followed three successive wins and mapping to be stalking the speed, he can throw it down. THE ANNOUNCER (10) started from this same alley last time when trying to make a closing raid but unable to make ground behind KINGOFTHESTARS. Runner-up at his previous two, he has claims. ROCK BOTTOM (7) will have the services of Megan Gee who will be looking to go back-to-back in this race after claiming the 2021 edition. Grabbed in the last strides by PACIFIC DRUMS last time, he is in the mix despite the tough alley. SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (1), SOHO SINATRA (8), THE ANNOUNCER (10), ROCK BOTTOM (7) SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON / SOHO SINATRA (1/8) quinella/exacta
RACE SIX This race looks a tricky contest and with an improved alley, THE ROCKNROLL KING (6) should appreciate dropping in grade to his recent assignments. Hemmed away last start when midfield to IT AINT THE MONEY, he had no luck behind FOND MEMORIES two back. Despite a sticky gate, if he gets the tempo, he can arrive. OUR UNCLE JIM (5) eased to the poles last start from gate 3 over the 2138m trip and chased home off the cosy trip to grab 3rd behind CHASING THE WIND. Asked to do it the tough way when parked the start prior and fresh up, a return to the mile here suits and he can get forward to challenge. ITS MR CLOONEY (3) has now had four runs back from a spell, showing good improvement at each outing. Strong to the line after snagging back early last start, he was just a half-head from the smart SLIP THE HUNDY two back and is right in the fight in an open event. WHICH HUNT (4) keeps chipping away in consistent fashion and has now claimed a minor at her past four in succession. Closing out in nice order after retreating from gate 7 last start, she can chime in. SELECTIONS: THE ROCKNROLL KING (6), OUR UNCLE JIM (5), ITS MR CLOONEY (3), WHICH HUNT (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN Finding the pocket trail from gate 3 over the mile two starts back GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (2) took her shot up the passing lane and turned over the smart 3YO CLASS TO THE MAX with the win. Starting favourite last start, she was beaten by gate 7 after retreating early and then unable to bridge the deficit. Back to mares’ grade from this alley is ideal. CHARM OFFENSIVE (5) eased from gate 6 in a second division mare’s event here three starts back and owned superior closing speed to power over the top of them and pull clear with a 5m margin. Buried three back last start she charged home for a smart win in slick time and looms large here. GET READY TO ROCK (9) was hugging the poles here last week when trying to snipe up the passing lane when 1m from the winner MOLLIESMARYELLE. Trailing through here, she can find the podium. SHEZ GOT BLING (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage as she looks in danger of being buried in the run. At her best when saved for a closing shot, she will be ready to make a play. SELECTIONS: GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (2), CHARM OFFENSIVE (5), GET READY TO ROCK (9), SHEZ GOT BLING (8) SUGGESTED BET: GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (2) to win
RACE EIGHT In what looks an open mares qualifier, HAMMERTIME HARLEY (9) who has been knocking on the door in recent weeks might have found the opportunity to claim a breakthrough. Sent forward form the six-hole last week, she worked hard when just 1m in arrears. A head from the winner BLUE IVY the start prior, she can arrive. HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) has good speed off the arm and finds the conditions to fire some early bullets here. Taking them all the way three starts back, she kept them chasing to claim a 1m margin in a new PB rate. Down the line here on Tuesday after retreating, she can press forward to challenge. WEEWAH (3) tackles her own sex for the first time at her third start since arriving in Qld and should appreciate this class of opponent. Strong to the line last start for 3rd after being buried, she stays under watch. BETTOR ROMANCE (6) is still a Qld maiden after finishing as the bridesmaid again last start to make it three successive 2nd placings. 5m from ROSIE ROCKS last week, the gate does her no favours. SELECTIONS: HAMMERTIME HARLEY (9), HEAVENLY WISDOM (4), WEEWAH (3), BETTOR ROMANCE (6) SUGGESTED BET: HAMMERTIME HARLEY (9) to win
RACE NINE After being sent to the post as the favourite last week HERBS HERO (8) settled in the running line but was unable to get warm as KINGOFTHESTARS controlled it from the front. Luckless the start prior when hemmed away on the poles, he comes up with the second line options to bounce back. MAJORDOIT (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last start but could not go with them in the closing stages as PACIFIC DRUMS took the prize. A midweek winner here two starts back at this trip when proving too tough for them after grinding it out first over, he can be in the position to throw it down. LOMBO HEAVEN (1) returns from a spell after his last appearance back in early December when finishing 6m from DEUS EX over the mile. With a sound trial, he has the gate but his 2138m record is a query. SAM IS PERFECTION (7) was deep in the pack last start after retreating from this same alley over this trip when chasing. A passing lane 3rd here two starts back behind OHOKA CHOPPER, he can chime in. SELECTIONS: HERBS HERO (8), MAJORDOIT (2), LOMBO HEAVEN (1), SAM IS PERFECTION (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TEN Off the back of being crowned the Qld Trotter of the Year SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) can look to add another win to the tally. Sent straight to the front from this alley last start over the 2138m, he was never in danger to lead throughout. That followed a mobile mile victory, and he can claim the threepeat. RED CASTLETON (4) resumes from a spell after an Inter Dominion campaign at the back end of 2021. His best effort in that series was the 2030m heat when not far from eventual Grand Final winner MAORI LAW. Claiming some travel money with a smart Menangle victory in the quasi consolation, he can challenge fresh. GARLAND GREENE (5) was sent to the breeze last week from the 25m tape but could not go on with it in terrible conditions behind VAN SANK. Runner-up to SIR FAHRENHEIT from the mobile two starts back, he has a podium hope. SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6), RED CASTLETON (4), GARLAND GREENE (5) SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) to win
