Co-trainer Matt Hoysted hopes a possible TAB Queensland Racing Carnival tilt for Enterprise Pomme will become a little clearer after the filly starts at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Enterprise Pomme will seek redemption for a last start defeat when she tackles the Three-Year-Old Quality over 1200 metres.

The daughter of Spill The Beans had no luck from her outside barrier finishing in front of three runners in the 3YO QTIS Jewel at the Gold Coast on March 19.

“We haven’t any plans yet for her during the winter but we hope to get a better guide after she runs on Saturday,” said Hoysted, who trains in partnership with Steve O’Dea.

“She’s had three runs for us and she’s drawn wide in all three.

“She’s proven she’s a Stakes filly after finishing fourth in a Group 2 (Furious Stakes) in Sydney last year.”

Hoysted believes Enterprise Pomme’s QTIS Jewel defeat was a “forgive” run and is hopeful of a strong performance on the bigger Eagle Farm track.

“She was slow to step up away in the Jewel and had to sit four deep from then on,” Hoysted said.

“It made her job impossible so it was a forgive run.

“She put in a good run before when she won at Doomben when she stepped away a bit cleaner.

“We’re still learning about her and maybe she can stretch out to 1400 metres later on.”

Hoysted and O’Dea will have two other starters with promising colt Hang Five lining up in the QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap over 1400 metres and You Make Me Smile in the Open Handicap over 1200 metres.

Hang Five finished second on debut at Doomben in February before scoring and impressive win over 1200 metres by almost three lengths at Eagle Farm on March 23.

“He didn’t get many favours last run and the race was set up for something to run on,” he said.

“He copped three or four bumps in the run so he did a good job after copping that sort of interference to win.”

Hoysted is hopeful Hang Five will eventually extend in distance to 1400 metres and believes he could develop into a summer carnival proposition with more experience.

“Hang Five goes good and all our three runners are nice chances,” Hoysted said.
