Racing Queensland has announced that it will provide further payments to all eligible recipients of the Training Assistance Fund.
Last month, Racing Minister Grace Grace announced $500,000 in flood relief through the Training Assistance Fund to support the Queensland racing industry.
As a result, approved first round recipients will now receive an additional second payment to assist with the ongoing costs caused from the floodwaters.
As per the first round, greyhound trainers will receive $350, while thoroughbred and harness trainers with one to six horses will receive $350, and trainers with seven or more horses $700.
Further applications will not be required for recipients to obtain a second round payment.
To support additional trainers, RQ will re-open the Training Assistance Fund until 5pm on Friday, April 29.
As a part of the new funding round, trainers who have not yet made an application through the Training Assistance Fund will be eligible to receive a double payment.
Accordingly, greyhound trainers will receive $700, while thoroughbred and harness trainers with one to six horses will receive $700, and trainers with seven or more horses a $1400 payment.
