Racing Queensland today confirmed that racing will continue at the Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club during the month of July, prior to a currently anticipated commencement of the track modification works on August 1, 2022.
Previously, racing activity at Bundaberg had been expected to cease, as from Monday, July 11. However, additional race meetings will now take place on both Mondays, July 18 and 25.
During the track modification works period, currently anticipated as four months, race meetings normally scheduled for Bundaberg will be replaced by fortnightly meetings at Rockhampton and weekly Monday afternoon meetings at Ipswich.
RQ is also finalising a support package for locally trained greyhounds that have raced at Bundaberg and will be disadvantaged by the cessation of racing at Bundaberg during the track modification works.
Details of the support package, inclusive of the qualifying criteria and the weekly support levels, will be announced, simultaneous with further information on the confirmed track modification works commencement date, once finalised.
