More than a dozen Queensland race clubs will share $718,000 in grants following the latest distribution of the Gambling and Community Benefit Fund, with just a few days remaining until the next round of applications closes.
In total, 14 race clubs had been approved for funding, double the number that received grants through the Gambling and Community Benefit Fund in February.
The grants range from $100,000, at the top end, for the upgrade of a kitchen at Herbert River Jockey Club at Ingham, in the Leichardt District, to $8,471 for Muttaburra Amateur Turf Club, in the Capricornia District, to purchase seating.
The latest round of grants follows more than $225,000 in funding that was spread among seven Queensland race clubs in February.
Applications for the next Gambling Community Benefit Fund’s (GCBF) $100,000 Disaster Super Round (Round 114) close at midnight on Friday, 15 July.
