RACE ONE A tough 70Heat to open the card with winning chances across the board. CLASSIE WASHINGTON (10) copped his only defeat in 5 Qld appearances last start when finishing with the bronze and only 4m from SLIP THE HUNDY in a 1.51.8 mile. Despite the tough gate, he is up to taking this. BETTERTHANAROCKET (2) is giving away plenty of race experience to his rivals at his first appearance since crossing the Tasman to join the Turpin stable. A winner at 2 of 3 starts on the South Island, he opened the pipes with a smart trial effort and has the gate to challenge first up. CHAMONIX (9) started from this same gate last time out at the 2138m trip and was making a closing challenge to be just a head in arrears of the winner. With the right trip, he is in the mix. COPPERFIELD (6) made the most of gate 2 last start when pressing to the front and once in control held them off to claim a half-neck margin. The gate makes it tougher this time.
SELECTIONS: CLASSIE WASHINGTON (10), BETTERTHANAROCKET (2), CHAMONIX (9), COPPERFIELD (6) SUGGESTED BET: CLASSIE WASHINGTON (10) to win
RACE TWO With this race over the middle trip of 2138m, there are a few lining up that look susceptible at the trip. IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (1) will be tightened from his latest outing where he was second up from a spell and was soon buried from inside the second line. He has the early options to capitalise. SO MUCH MORE (5) was a winner at Redcliffe three starts back and was then sent for a break. With two runs since resuming, both on The Triangle, he has grabbed 3rd in each when beaten 3m and 4m respectively. Chasing THE IRISH EAGLE last start, he can challenge despite the sticky gate. PEPPA BLISS (2) has not shown any hustle off the gate in recent starts so the gate may not be a great advantage. Hitting the line strongly from back in the pack two starts back, she can join in again. ARTISTIC SAINT (3) has not been too far from a win in recent starts, finishing as the runner-up in 3 of his past 5 outings. 3m in from the winner last time out, he can get forward to make a play.
SELECTIONS: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (1), SO MUCH MORE (5), PEPPA BLISS (2), ARTISTIC SAINT (3) SUGGESTED BET: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (1) to win
RACE THREE Runner-up at his past three in succession in this grade, EH EF EL (5) can look to go one better this time around. Finding the pocket trail last start he was 5m from the winner up the passing lane which followed a similar margin behind EL AGUILA. With the right trip, this looks within reach. JUMPING JOLT (1) secures his best gate for some time as he looks to arrest a two-year winless streak. Eased from gate 5 to find the poles and then trying to make a late raid last start, he faced a similar scenario the start prior. Much closer to the action can see him issue a closing challenge. DIKERRY (4) sat in the 1x1 trail last start and trying to make a play in the stretch, finished just out of the money. A winner four runs back followed by successive placings, he can join in again this time. JUMPING JACK JIMMY (7) eased from gate 6 last start and with a solid tempo up front, had the closing power to descend on them and take the win. The gate stings, but he is a podium hope. SELECTIONS: EH EF EL (5), JUMPING JOLT (1), DIKERRY (4), JUMPING JACK JIMMY (7) SUGGESTED BET: EH EF EL (5) to win
RACE FOUR The first heat of the 3YO Fillies Triad where BONNIES DANCE (4) secures the opportunity to book her ticket through to the Final. Only lightly raced where she has 2 wins in 5 starts, she will step up to the middle trip for just the second time. Down the line behind MY ULTIMATE JOHNNY at her only attempt, back to her own sex appeals. BETTYS GOLD CLASS (2) was first up from a spell last time out when landing gate 1 over the mile. Taking the trail, she was trying to make a play up the passing lane when holding on for the silver when 2m from the winner CHARLIE CHUCKLES. The 2138m is a query, but she can secure a cosy trip. MAGICAL MAYA (8) found conditions to arrive for the prize last start at Redcliffe when overcoming gate 5. Just 3m from the winner here two starts back, she can get away from the poles to feature. CANDYKANE (6) held the pocket trail over this trip in the Breeders Classic and was 5m from the winner RACY ROXY. Resuming last start from a let up, the gate makes this a tough ask. SELECTIONS: BONNIES DANCE (4), BETTYS GOLD CLASS (2), MAGICAL MAYA (8), CANDYKANE (6) SUGGESTED BET: BONNIES DANCE (4) to win
RACE FIVE After a string of tough gates in recent starts, ALWAYSBME (2) secures her chance from the good alley. Eased from gate 6 last start before attacking the line strongly in the closing stages last start to grab the silver behind JACCKA WALLY, she can look to book her ticket to the Finals next Saturday. GOLDIES A DELIGHT (4) returned from an NSW Oaks campaign and fell in over the mile at her first run back. Missing the money in all four starts since that win, she has been given a let up to look to get it back on track. A return to her own aga and sex will be a big help and she cannot be ignored. HARLEY BLUE (1) is winless this term after 16 attempts but finds the right gate to try to alter than anomaly. Never in the mix last time from gate 10, the tight gate here is a big asset in this line up. ROSES ARE SWEET (6) released from gate 1 last start and from there chased gamely as UPTOWN BEACHGIRL claimed a strong victory. The gate dents her chances, but she can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: ALWAYSBME (2), GOLDIES A DELIGHT (4), HARLEY BLUE (1), ROSES ARE SWEET (6) SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYSBME (2) to win
RACE SIX SHEREACTS (3) found the ideal conditions here last week and despite doing it the tough way first over, was able to graft out a determined win with a half-neck to spare. Strong to the line from gate 9 at Redcliffe the start prior, she can press forward again here and look to rinse and repeat. BART MAGUIRE (2) was first up in Qld last time out when tackling the 1780m trip at Redcliffe from gate 2. Settling in the running line with 1x1 cover, he could only manage a 5m margin behind UHURA. Taking them all the way at Wagga the start prior, he can be sharper in this. HARRY KANE (7) is giving away experience to his rivals here, but he looks to have his share of ability. Blasting them away with a 38m maiden breaking win two runs back, he was luckless last start and can join in off the tough gate here. UNDERTHEKILT (1) was a Redcliffe winner last start when crossed early but moving away from the pocket moved around the field to find the front at the 1200m and see it out. He is a podium hope. SELECTIONS: SHEREACTS (3), BART MAGUIRE (2), HARRY KANE (7), UNDERTHEKILT (1) SUGGESTED BET: SHEREACTS (3) to win
RACE SEVEN This is an intriguing contest between two smart 3YO’s, both coming into this is hot form and both rising to the 2138m for the first time. FUTURE ASSURED (3) has won both runs back from a spell with margins of 17m and 15m, doing it chasing and in front. He lands the early barrier advantage over his main rival and can look to utilise the benefit. CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (4) put on a power running display here last week when taking control through a 27.1 opener and keeping the tempo amped throughout. Bringing them home in a 27.2 closer, he laid out a sizzling 1.51.6 mile, the third fastest ever by a 3YO on this deck. Can he convert it at the 2138m? TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (2) has placed at his past two starts, the latest when winding up in the closing stages for 3rd when 6m astern of the winner. Finding the pegs first can help his chances here. BOSELLINO (6) has the wide gate to negotiate with is last win coming over this trip when claiming the Breeders Consolation back in May. Buried away last start when beaten a head, he can chime in. SELECTIONS: FUTURE ASSURED (3), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (4), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (2), BOSELLINO (6) SUGGESTED BET: FUTURE ASSURED (3) to win
RACE EIGHT
LADY ALLEGRA (8) will be needing some factors in her favour from this alley, but if the gaps arrive in time, she can take the step up. Sent forward to sit parked as the fav last start, she was working hard in the run to be 6m astern of the winner. Fitter after two runs back from a break, she can snipe. GABBYS IDEAL (5) will take further benefit from her latest offering where she was second up from a spell. Placed in both return runs, she snagged back early from gate 7 before trying to launch a closing raid last start as IM LOKI controlled it in front. With even luck she can throw down a challenge. ROCCO VARIETY (1) will need to step up another level here but comes into the contest in good form with 2 wins in his past 3 at Redcliffe. The ace gate is a big help to his chances. LANCELOT BROMAC (6) was a winner here three starts back when powering over the top of them in the closing stages. Runner-up at his next attempt, he wasn’t suited last start and is a podium hope. SELECTIONS: LADY ALLEGRA (8), GABBYS IDEAL (5), ROCCO VARIETY (1), LANCELOT BROMAC (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE This colts and geldings heat looks more even across the board where AWAYWEGO (2) can look to capitalise on his gate as he chases the 2YO/3YO Triad Double. Rolling forward from gate 5 last start at this trip, he finished too strongly in claiming a 1m margin. Fitter again after two runs back, he can take this. MISTY CREEK (7) has copped a stinker from the barriers for this battle, but he comes into the contest rock hard fit and in super consistent form. Hitting the board in 17 of 23 for the season, he was game after working hard when parked last start for 2nd to subsequent winner BETTOR JIGGLE. Back to his own age is a bonus. CLASS TO THE MAX (3) tackled the Derby last start at the 2647m after bypassing the SE Derby the week prior. With his runs spaced this campaign, he can land some minor money here. MISTER REACTOR (8) was sent forward from gate 4 last start and taking control was able to see it out with 8m to spare. Hitting the line strongly from back in the pack last time he tackled this trip, he has the second line options. SELECTIONS: AWAYWEGO (2), MISTY CREEK (7), CLASS TO THE MAX (3), MISTER REACTOR (8) SUGGESTED BET: AWAYWEGO (2) to win
RACE TEN Taking great benefit from her return to the track last week, BOURBONONTHEROCKS (2) comes up with the right lane here. From the trail first up, she was 6m from the winner in holding on for the bronze. On a streak where she was in the money in 12 of her 14 starts prior to the break, this is within reach. MIKEMARO (4) resumes from a spell, shutdown after the Jim McNeil Final back in April where he was down the line behind REGAL APPOINTMENT. A Heat winner of that Series when second up in Qld, he has been to the trials twice to prepare and can issue a challenge fresh. KAR MANOR (9) made an error from the mobile last start and was left chasing when finishing 8m adrift of the winner. Runner-up at the 2647m the start prior, if he brings the manners, he can feature. HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (5) was safely away under mobile conditions last start and finding the front was able to see it out with a 4m margin. A winner in 3 of her past 5, she is right in the fight. SELECTIONS: BOURBONONTHEROCKS (2), MILLY AN EYRE (1), KAR MANOR (9), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (5) SUGGESTED BET: BOURBONONTHEROCKS (2) to win
