RACE ONE After three runs in Qld since joining the Dixon stable, conditions look ideal for HITTHEROADJACK (2) to take advantage. Only 8m away last start when forced to tackle open company, the start prior he made late metres after being hemmed away, both time behind the airborne LOVE YOUR WORK. This gate in this grade appeals. PARAMA (10) has hit some nice form to line up here with 3 wins in his past 4 starts on the form card. Sent straight to the front from gate 3 last week, he was never in danger in claiming an effortless 7m margin where he zipped up the stretch in 26.6. Despite the second line, he can issue the challenge. CALL ME KEITH (1) will strip fitter from his latest outing where e returned from a spell from inside the second line in a hot race. Midfield to TIZ A SIZZLER, the gate in this company is a huge help. SCOTCH EN ICE (4) was building towards a qualifying victory after finishing as the runner-up in successive events. Franking that assessment with a strong win from gate 10 last start, he has claims.
SELECTIONS: HITTHEROADJACK (2), PARAMA (10), CALL ME KEITH (1), SCOTCH EN ICE (4) SUGGESTED BET: HITTHEROADJACK (2) to win
RACE TWO The early positioning will be keen here with several speed beginners looking to stake their claim. THE HIGH COMMANDER (3) was sent to the post in red figures last start from gate 2 where he was not pushed early but could only manage an 8m margin behind ISOLATION. He finds conditions to capitalise. HES PERFECTLY IDEAL (2) completed a hat-trick of victories here three starts back after pressing forward from gate 7 to force the issue, take control and then fight them off in the stretch. Drawn off the second line in both runs since, he was buried here last week. A return to the front is a huge plus. SO MUCH MORE (1) settled in the 1x1 trail last time out and was trying to launch a closing raid when finishing 8m form the winner to hold 3rd. A winner from gate 6 two starts back, the gate helps. ISOLATION (4) was able to lay out a slick last 800m split two starts back, despite being well beaten. Franking that effort to charge home to score last start in good fashion, he can make a closing play.
SELECTIONS: THE HIGH COMMANDER (3), HES PERFECTLY IDEAL (2), SO MUCH MORE (1), ISOLATION (4) SUGGESTED BET: THE HIGH COMMANDER (3) to win
RACE THREE Possessing super speed off the arm, the opportunity looks available for THERESACHANCE (2) to dart across to the poles and from there look to dictate. Setting the tempo from gate 6 over the Redcliffe sprint last start, he was collared in the last strides. Nabbed late in a similar event four runs back, he will be gripping on. AIR TIME (3) has done a few laps of this oval since his last breakthrough which was a dead heat in a qualifier. 3m from the winner MAJOR JAROD two starts back after securing running line cover, he was forced to do it the tough way last time behind subsequent winner PARAMA. He can throw it down. CONGO LINE (1) was a winner here two starts back at the 2138m trip when powering home late to overcome the outside front line gate. With the improved gate he can be probing for openings. BACKINTOWN (10) has no favours off the second line as he searches for his first victory in Qld. Grabbing the bronze here three runs back behind PARAMA, he was not too far away last start. SELECTIONS: THERESACHANCE (2), AIR TIME (3), CONGO LINE (1), BACKINTOWN (10) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-10
RACE FOUR Second up for the Butler barn here last week when tackling the mobile conditions, HUMBLE LADD (11) was able to find open space after starting from inside the second line to get clear and charge over the top to a smart victory. Just 3m away when first up, he finds conditions to arrive once again. JUSTABITNOISY (1) will strip fitter following his last start where he was returning from a spell. Hemmed away after starting from this same lane over the longer trip at his last run before being given a break, he was strong to the line for the silver. Making nice metres in the closing stages first up, he can challenge via the short way home. IM THE COMMANDO (3) showed good speed off the tape last time to take control in a mid-week contest and was leading deep into the stretch and only went under a neck. His manners are a big plus. SUGARINSPICE (8) has returned from a long spell in perfect order to go 2 for 2. Overcoming a 20m tape last start to land the prize up the passing lane, she steps up here but is building a smart record. SELECTIONS: HUMBLE LADD (11), JUSTABITNOISY (1), IM THE COMMANDO (3), SUGARINSPICE (8) SUGGESTED BET: HUMBLE LADD (11) to win
RACE FIVE First up from a spell last time out, YEP GOT CHOOKS (8) should take good benefit from the run and be a fitter conveyance here. Starting from the second line, he was strong to the line in the closing stages for the bronze after HY VOLTAGE powered up in front. Just needs gaps with momentum. THE IRISH EAGLE (4) burrowed through from gate 1 at Redcliffe last start and was harangued out in front all the way but defied every challenge to claim a determined victory in handy time. Gunned down here three back when trying to take them all the way, his record on this deck is a big concern. DOCTA FEELGOOD (1) took the trail here two starts back and after the cosy trip finished with the silver behind subsequent winner PARAMA. Unable to finish it off last start at 2138m, the gate at the mile is a big asset. SMOOTH CASH (9) started from gate 11 at the 2138m last time out and was sent to the poles to chase the short way home. Down the line behind SCOTCH EN ICE, he can be joining in here. SELECTIONS: YEP GOT CHOOKS (8), THE IRISH EAGLE (4), DOCTA FEELGOOD (1), SMOOTH CASH (9) SUGGESTED BET: YEP GOT CHOOKS (8) to win
RACE SIX A mouth-watering tactical speed battle looks set to unfold here with a pair of slippery performers in hot form going head-to-head. UNCLE SHANK (1) has won 5 of his past 6, completing the hat-trick last start when taking them all the way in a 1.50.4 mile. He holds the advantage with the options to set or stalk the speed. LOVE YOUR WORK (4) is white hot and comes into this with five successive victories, including a FFA success last time out when taking them all the way. Setting his own sub-51 mile two back with a 10m margin, he will take a good shot and if waved on, will be out to throw down a big mile. ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (6) was huge in defeat two starts back when sitting parked outside LOVE YOUR WORK in 1.50.9 and holding 2nd and followed that with a sizzling closing half last week chasing TIZ A SIZZLER when just 1m away. He will be making a closing play. INFATUATION (8) returns from a spell and lands the prefect alley fresh. The peg trip will allow him to save petrol with the inside likely a top place to position in what looks a slick contest. SELECTIONS: UNCLE SHANK (1), LOVE YOUR WORK (4), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (6), INFATUATION (8) SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE SHANK (1) to win
RACE SEVEN At his best over the mile where 21 of his 24 victories have come from and also preferring to be in front, KEY LARGO (6) has landed a pair of wins in his past 5 where he has powered home from the second line at the 2138m. Too strong in the closing stages last week, he gets back to the mile and looks to have the speed to take control of this. SCOOB OPERATOR (8) lands the second line options as the only runner out the back and will likely be away from the inside in the early stages. Sent to the front last start in a strong contest, he was trying to repel the raid, but had to settle for a 3m deficit behind ESCALERA. He can make a late play. OHOKA JIMMY (1) was buried away here last week and was hampered behind the tiring TUAPEKA GLORY, losing all momentum. Not far from SWAGGIE SHANNON three back, he is a podium hope with the right trip. TUAPEKA GLORY (3) found the poles before releasing here last week and then wilted out of contention. A winner three back in a B5 event following a similar pattern, he can settle handy enough to be in the mix. SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (6), SCOOB OPERATOR (8), OHOKA JIMMY (1), TUAPEKA GLORY (3) SUGGESTED BET: KEY LARGO (6) to win
RACE EIGHT Asked to do it the tough way last start when sent to sit parked, CALA JANE (9) was fighting hard in finishing 5m from the winner MISS VERSTAPPEN. Grabbing a passing lane 3rd two starts back after releasing from gate 1, she can look to trail through here and make the closing raid a winning one. ONLY ONCE BITTEN (1) was back in the main draw last start and from gate 3 was sent to the front. With a solid tempo being set, she was in for the fight when 5m in arrears of the winner. Beaten a similar margin two starts back from gate 6 after doing it the tough way, she lands all the options to challenge. VINDICATE (7) was sent to the post as favourite last week from gate 5 but made a costly error when the arms folded and galloped back to the rear. Resetting to be just 5m from the winner, she can overcome the embargo to feature. MORESCO (4) claimed her first win of the year at Marburg two starts back where she was able to roll the sleeves and prove too strong in scoring. Just 3m away last start, she can get forward to make a play. SELECTIONS: CALA JANE (9), ONLY ONCE BITTEN (1), VINDICATE (7), MORESCO (4) SUGGESTED BET: CALA JANE (9) to win
RACE NINE The run to the first turn could prove to be keenly contested here and a first quarter burn will help the chances of IMA SOCIALITE (4). Taking on all-comers last start, she was game after being obliged to sit parked from gate 7 and grafting out the bronze behind PARAMA. A return to mare’s company is a big plus and a solid tempo can see her descend on them. UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (2) will be looking to clear the inside and find the poles which will give her the early advantage. Hustling forward to take control last week, she was able to see it out in taking a PB 52.5 mile which followed a 2nd when collared in the closing stages by IMA SOCIALITE. She will be fighting. SLICK SOPHIE (3) will be taking a good look off the arm to look in getting across. A three time-winner here at The Creek, those wins have all been when in front, including here two back in smart order. DELIGHTFUL REASON (1) was beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating early to find position and from back in the pack was always facing a task. Tucking in behind all the action, she will be ready to offer a closing play. SELECTIONS: IMA SOCIALITE (4), UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (2), SLICK SOPHIE (3), DELIGHTFUL REASON (1) SUGGESTED BET: IMA SOCIALITE (4) to win
