RACE ONE

MAJOR PAINT (3) showed the hustle to lead over the AP mile before releasing and then held on for the silver behind LUCKY JIM. Using the passing lane two starts back to grab the bronze, he is ready to open the account and looks to have found the right conditions.

AGENT STARLING (5) started from the second line last start and was working home wide off the track and hit the line in nice order to get within 1m of the winner DELIGHT OF RANI in grabbing 2nd. Fitter again after three runs back from a spell, the gate stings but she can throw down a challenge.

BOUNTYHUNTER (9) set the speed last time from gate 2 and kept an even tempo but could not fight on when it got serious to fade to a 7m 4th. Up on the pace his past four, we will see him chase here.

GHOST TRAIN (8) led them up last start from gate 3 but could not see it out when fading over the closing stages. He can look to trail the speed here to chime in down the stretch.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR PAINT (3), AGENT STARLING (5), BOUNTYHUNTER (9), GHOST TRAIN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR PAINT (3) to win

RACE TWO

TULHURST CUDDLES (5) has been racing in consistent fashion with her past dozen outings netting 2 wins and 8 minors. Sitting parked last start here over this trip, she was grafting it out to finish 4m from the winner MATAI REACTOR. Despite the wide gate she can be there to fight it out.

DUKE (3) was sent to the post as fav last time out at Marburg from gate 3 and repelled for the leading role, he was forced to do it the tough way parked out. Fighting hard in holding 3rd when 3m from the winner, he can be close enough to the action to make a challenge.

RISKY BUZINESS (7) was a Marburg winner three starts back when making full use of the front line to take them all the way. Drawn off the second line in every run since, he will be probing.

SOULWRITER (9) took them all the way here two starts back in a heat and then in the Final was buried in the run after retreating form gate 4. Following through at the start gives her a place hope.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST CUDDLES (5), DUKE (3), RISKY BUZINESS (7), SOULWRITER (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

NON PASSARE (8)
was faced with this gate last time out and saved for one run was winding up over the closing stages. Looming like he was going to make a strong challenge, he was 3m from the winner HEAR THE CALL. If he can put two runs together, he finds his chance to break the drought.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (1) was drawn wide off the track three starts back and also copped an ODM embargo which has seen him start on the outside in both runs since. A return to the main draw is a huge plus in this contest where he can be up near the speed, ready to challenge.

TOOLITTLETOOLATE (4) started from gate  last time out and was soon in behind the leader and finishing 3m in arrears and hold 3rd. Fresh up since that run in September, he is a place hope.

CHASIN DREAMZ (7) started from inside the second line over the AP mile last start and was soon snookered away, making a late rally to grab 3rd. Once again, she will be searching for the openings.

SELECTIONS: NON PASSARE (8), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (1), TOOLITTLETOOLATE (4), CHASIN DREAMZ (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NON PASSARE (8) to win

RACE FOUR

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (6)
is given no favours from the wide gate, but it is only one spot wider than the alley he was able to overcome here last week. Pressing ahead from 5, he slotted into the running line and then cruised down the stretch to take a 6m margin. This is no harder and he can repeat.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8) was back in winning form last time out at Marburg where he found the ideal conditions to take them all the way from gate 1, controlling it early before getting home in nice order. He will be chasing here but trailing through early can be in position to challenge.

FORTYFIVE ROCK (4) fired across from gate 4 last time out and was running even panels in front but was gunned down over the closing stages. With his runs spaced of late, he can make a play here.

HANDSOME HARRY (2) has been a little disappointing in his past two here on The Triangle after a tidy 3rd over the mile at HQ three back. Settling handy to the action will aid his chances in this.

SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (6), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8), FORTYFIVE ROCK (4), HANDSOME HARRY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (6) to win

RACE FIVE

ROCKNHOLME (8)
was rattling home last start but just ran out of time when finishing in 2nd behind the leader and winner SHAKATIE. His form prior had been in stronger battles at headquarters, and he finds his chance here to get going and charge over the top to take the prize.

MOTU AMETHYST (3) is struggling to put them away and really command a win, forced to share the prize with a dead heat seen runs back and then with three placings since that has been beaten a head and a nose. Getting forward from this gate, she gets every chance again to throw it down.

HEAVENLY WISDOM (9) was a winner here four runs back when finding the front and able to fight them off and pull clear to a 5m margin. Placed at her past two starts, she can be joining in.

SARIE MARAIS (1) started from the second line last start where she was angled to the poles for the short cuts. Down the line two starts back, she has the gate for an easy trip here to snare a minor.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNHOLME (8), MOTU AMETHYST (3), HEAVENLY WISDOM (9), SARIE MARAIS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNHOLME (8) to win

RACE SIX

BE ROCK HARD (5)
has produced a mixed bag in his four starts since crossing the Nullarbor to join the Ron Sallis barn. A tough effort when 5m from the winner here three runs back, a wide gate was his undoing last start over the AP mile. Sharpened at the trials, he gets a chance to capitalise.

SAILALONG SINBAD (1) has the good gate here after facing a tough trip last start where he sat parked in sizzling time at Marburg. Chasing a hat-trick of victories in that battle, he was a passing lane winner here two runs back, arriving in the closing strides. This is tougher but the gate helps.

ROLL WITH ROCKY (7) returns from a spell after his last appearance came back in January. A winner at 3 of his previous 5 before the break, the cosy trip appeals first up.

LE TISSIER (6) is given no favours from the outside paint but should find his opposition a little easier than recent outings. Midfield last start behind COMMODORE JUJON, he has hit the board in 3 of 6 on this deck.

SELECTIONS: BE ROCK HARD (5), SAILALONG SINBAD (1), ROLL WITH ROCKY (7), LE TISSIER (6)
SUGGESTED BET:  BE ROCK HARD (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (3)
was trying to make ground wide out last start after settled in the running line from gate 8. Grabbing the bronze when 7m in arrears of the winner, it followed a similar margin and trip the start prior. Getting forward can see him stake a claim.

SHAKATIE (2) goes in search of the hat-trick after successive all the way victories from gate 1. Claiming a career PB with a 4m margin over the AP mile two back, she followed it when dictating to a 3m margin at the 1780. The rise to 2040 will ask some questions she might not have the answer to.

GETALOADATHISBRO (7) took advantage of his speed off the arm here last week when darting over to lead from gate 5 and from there was never headed. Likely to be buried, he will be searching for openings.

HURRICANE DREAM (1) joins the Donny Smith barn after her best seems to have deserted her. Down the line in recent attempts, the good gate and easy trip might be enough for her to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (3), SHAKATIE (2), GETALOADATHISBRO (7), HURRICANE DREAM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

JOHNROD (6)
will need to be at his best here, stepping up against some slighting stronger opposition and faced with the horror gate. Eased before working home wide out last start from this same gate to grab the silver, he was too gritty two back in scoring. He will be grafting it out again here.

ONLYSBEST (5) is going better than the numbers suggest, the latest effort where he had little luck when snookered on the poles at Marburg. Making nice metres to grab the bronze here two back when 3m in arrears of the winner, he has good gate hustle and might just fire some early bullets.

MOTU CULLEN (9) is ticking over in nice order, finishing as the runner-up at his past two, the latest when chasing from deep in the pack behind the big winner PRODIGAL GUINNESS. He can chime in.

MON BEL ANGE (1) was first up in Qld last start when tackling the AP 2138m trip where she did not get the smoothest passage when buried away against the poles. With better luck she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: JOHNROD (6), ONLYSBEST (5), MOTU CULLEN (9), MON BEL ANGE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

CHAINLINC (9)
has been runner-up at 3 of his past 5 starts, the latest when unable to see it out over the AP mile. Finding the front from gate 3, he was looking to take them all the way, but the strong tempo left him vulnerable in the stretch. Placed in both outings on this deck. Tempo will help.

MISSTREPO (2) eased from gate 5 before charging home over the top to score a smart win here three starts back. Strong to the line again from deep in the pack at her next start, her latest outing was in a mare’s qualifier controlled in front by MAJIC MOMENT. The improved gate is a boost.

STOMPEM (3) tackled a tougher contest over the AP mile last start and did not get the smoothest passage when holding on for the bronze. Settling handy to the action, he can feature in this.

QUARTZITE (1) joins the Jack Butler stable, arriving with a last start victory at Swan Hill where he took them all the way, gripping on through a slow closing panel. The gate helps first up.

SELECTIONS: CHAINLINC (9), MISSTREPO (2), STOMPEM (3), QUARTZITE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CHAINLINC (9) to win

RACE TEN

MAJOR MISCHIEF (6)
is afforded no favours from the outside paint, but he might just be going a little better against stronger opposition than he meets here. Sent around them to sit parked last start from the second line. 4m from ONE LAST ROLL here three back, this looks well within reach.

WHATA TERROR (7) sat in the trail here last start from this same gate and when angled to the passing lane was trying to reel FAVREAU in but came up 1m short in taking the silver. Not far away the start prior, he will be locked away and searching for the gaps to challenge.

ARTISTIC SAINT (4) was runner-up here two starts back when taking the trail from gate 1 and finishing 5m from the winner. The wider gate makes it tricky, but he has podium claims.

FAVREAU (3) made the most of the gate last start to take them all the way from the ace. That was off the back of a tidy effort from the second line when a narrow 2nd and he can feature again.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR MISCHIEF (6), WHATA TERROR (7), ARTISTIC SAINT (4), FAVREAU (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR MISCHIEF (6) to win
