RACE ONE

ARTISITIC SAINT (5) was locked away three back on the inside last start and when the passing lane presented was picking up good metres to be just 1m from the winner in grabbing the bronze. Despite the wide gate, he can roll forward to possie up near the speed to stake his claim.

KORLOFF NOIR (1) will strip fitter from her latest outing when resuming from a spell. Eased from gate 6 to settle rearward, she hit the line in smart fashion to be under 5m rom the winner. With the benefit of the improved gate and available options, she can throw down the challenge.

COURAGEOUS SAM (8) faced the outside front line alley last start when retreating to secure a spot. Sound to the line over the latter stages, he can press through here to join in.

MON BEL ANGE (2) was hemmed away from gate 1 last time and searching for openings. Trying to take a shot up the passing lane two back, she can be close enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: ARTISITIC SAINT (5), KORLOFF NOIR (1), COURAGEOUS SAM (8), MON BEL ANGE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ARTISITIC SAINT (5) to win

RACE TWO

ALTANA BLUE (2) will appreciate the improved gate after his past four have all been from the second line. Just 5m from LUXURY LAD last start being snookered down on the poles from inside the second line, he gets the chance to get forward.

WINDY HILL WALLY (1) was beaten by the second line gate last start after being sent to the post as the favourite. Wide off the track over the closing stages, he was still able to attack the line smartly in finishing 4m from the winner. Back to the good gate, he will be right in the fight.

CHAL BE (7) has been to The Triangle on 3 occasions for a win and a pair of minors. Banished to the trials after a last start hiccup, he earned the return and will get the economical trip from this gate.

LA SAFRON (3) eased from gate 5 last time which then saw him wide over the closing stages trying to get into the action. Settling closer from this alley aids his podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ALTANA BLUE (2), WINDY HILL WALLY (1), CHAL BE (7), LA SAFRON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7

RACE THREE

MYSTICAL JAZZ (5)
faces the tricky gate, but she has worked her way back into form to stare down the hat-trick of wins in this contest. Overcoming gate 6 last start when rattling home to take the prize, it followed a victory from this same alley. If the tempo suits, she can land the threepeat.

KUDOS MASON (1) could not get warm last start over the AP mile and finished at the rear of the pack. The start prior from gate 2 over this trip, he found the front and was trying to take them all the way but faded late. Runner-up three back, this race looks a more suitable target to challenge.

DUKE (2) was trying to pick up late metres last start after snagging back from gate 5 and from there was a long way out of play. Runner-up the start prior which followed successive wins, this is suitable.

THE TAX CULLECTOR (6) made an error on the first turn here last start when looking to have taken up control, with his chances ending on that corner. The wide gate stings but he can feature.

SELECTIONS: MYSTICAL JAZZ (5), KUDOS MASON (1), DUKE (2), THE TAX CULLECTOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MYSTICAL JAZZ (5) to win

RACE FOUR

CONVAIR HUSTLER (1)
tackled the much tougher Christmas Cup Consolation taken by a dictating KANYE CRUSADER last start. 5m from HITTHEROADJACK two starts back in Saturday night company, he lands all the favours from the ace to utilise his early hustle.

STOMPEM (3) eased to the fence last start and from there was facing a battle chasing against the tempo. Too far back in a 70Heat the start prior over the AP mile, he was a winner at his last appearance on this deck when settling in the 1x1 and from a similar position can challenge here.

SHEZ NOTORIOUS (7) speared across from gate 6 to set the speed here last start but faded in the closing stages to be 9m from the winner. Claiming victory two back, she will be stalking the speed.

GELDOF (5) set the tempo last start over the 2138m at HQ when looking to take them all the way, but his night was done a long way from home. Off a fighting 3rd here two back, he can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: CONVAIR HUSTLER (1), STOMPEM (3), SHEZ NOTORIOUS (7), GELDOF (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CONVAIR HUSTLER (1) to win

RACE FIVE

MAJOR SLIP UP (6)
is afforded no favours from the outside paint, but he might just have enough of an edge on his opponents to defy the impediment. Just a half-neck from the winner LITTLEDEE last start after sent forward to sit parked, he can do it tough again here and have the strength to prevail.

LURKING (1) features in a stable switch to join the Richie Williams team after fading last start when asked to sit parked. A similar result two back unfolded when caught outside the leader and with the benefit of the ace, he can burrow through and look to dictate to them here.

THREE MACHS (8) was luckless here two starts back when held up right when she needed the space. Making some ground last time but ultimately well beaten, this looks a more suitable play.

EAGLES RESPONSE (5) was attacking the line with gusto here two back and went within a neck of landing the prize. A victim of tough gates in recent starts, she lands another tough one here.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR SLIP UP (6), LURKING (1), THREE MACHS (8), EAGLES RESPONSE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR SLIP UP (6) to win

RACE SIX

BERTILS FIREFOX (7)
looks to replicate the set up he was able to secure last week where he was a winner from this same alley. On that occasion he trailed HEAR THE CALL who looks the leader again and if the script is read the same way, it looks a case of rinse and repeat.

HEAR THE CALL (1) was the lamp[ lighter from this gate over this trip last week and after a steady time in front where he was rated evenly, it was only BERTILS FIREFOX that was able to get past him in the stretch. He can again be dictating the script and be gripping on.

TALEGGIO (3) dropped to the fence last start in the same race listed as the above and he was able to dart through to fill the trifecta. He may not find that same position, but the result can be the same.
MAJOR TRALEE (5) has a win sandwiched between a pair of 2nd placings, the latest when closing out strongly to be 4m from the winner. Taking them all the way two runs back, the gate hurts.

SELECTIONS: BERTILS FIREFOX (7), HEAR THE CALL (1), TALEGGIO (3), MAJOR TRALEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  BERTILS FIREFOX (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE WATERBOY (6)
was runner-up to subsequent winner LORD OF MISRULE last start after settling in the 1x1 trail from the second line over the AP mile. Beaten in red figures in both previous starts to kick off his Aus career, he finds the right race to open the account, he just needs to bring the manners.

OLLIE ONE SHOT (1) has been defeated as an odds-on favourite in 3 of his 4 career starts, as he continues to learn his craft. With all the signs of a good motor but none of the manners to go with it, he can be in front early, but will need to settle if he is going to open the account.

CROSS WALK (2) pressed forward from gate 6 last start to take control in a 2YO only event and was trying to see it out but faded over the closing stages. From the gate he can be close enough to feature.

BATMAN JUJON (4) will take some further experience from his latest outing where he was second up from a spell and sound to the line to finish midfield. He can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: THE WATERBOY (6), OLLIE ONE SHOT (1), CROSS WALK (2), BATMAN JUJON (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

CLARES FOOL (5)
tackled standing start conditions at Marburg last start where he came from the 10m impost to sit parked and put in a game effort to hold 3rd. Beaten by gate 6 two starts back, he has found the ideal conditions to press forward here and flex some muscle.

JANG PEL (6) was a winner when leading throughout from gate 3 four starts back, holding on for a narrow victory. Not too far away in each of the three runs since that win, he is afforded no favours from this gate but looks up to the task of challenging.

WEASEL (2) was closing out soundly last start to hold on for the bronze behind EASTBRO TEX and should be settled handy to the speed again here to make a podium play.

FORTYFIVE ROCK (8) eased to the poles last start and was sound to the line when 6m from the winner. Positioning cheaply can see him land in the minor money.

SELECTIONS:  CLARES FOOL (5), JANG PEL (6), WEASEL (2), FORTYFIVE ROCK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: CLARES FOOL (5) to win

RACE NINE

HOLME BOY (1)
finds his chance to break the maiden status and earn the lucrative QBRED bonus in the last days of the season. Drawn inside the second line in 4 of his past 5, the other starts saw him lob the outside front line marble. His efforts have been at the standard to capitalise in this.

ASH AND JO (7) should secure the perfect trip from this gate to be the main challenger. Grabbing the bronze last start when asked to graft it out when parked, the start prior she bumped into the handy MYDADSAID. The cosy trip looks to be ideal.

IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (4) was hemmed away from inside the second line last start and out of the money as NINETEENTHIRTYFOUR claimed a big win. Finding position cheaply will be his chance to feature.

LUCKY TO BE A LAAG (3) will not be missed out on the track, the 5YO mare a striking grey on debut. With a tidy preparatory trial, she can land in the money first up.

SELECTIONS: HOLME BOY (1), ASH AND JO (7), IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (4), LUCKY TO BE A LAAG (3)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLME BOY (1) to win

RACE TEN

MADRIGAL (2)
is a NZ bred filly first up in the Sunshine State, joining the Mark Rees barn. Unplaced in a pair of outings at Ashburton in the South Island. Her Marburg trial was that of a smart horse when leading throughout in slick time. From the gate, she can lead her rivals a merry dance.

ENGLISH DANCE (3) overcame a wide gate last start when working home wide off the track to arrive in the last strides to defeat older rivals. Breaking the maiden status over the AP mile three runs back, he can be close enough to the action to issue the challenge.

HOLLYWOODBOUND (5) was down the line behind subsequent winner YOGI last time out which had followed a maiden breaking win when finding the front and taking control. He may need to work here.

BURTON (1) will be taking possibly his last chance to claim a 2YO victory with the season end approaching. Fading out last start to finish midfield, he has the gate and opposition to feature.

SELECTIONS: MADRIGAL (2), ENGLISH DANCE (3), HOLLYWOODBOUND (5), BURTON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MADRIGAL (2) to win
