The Albion Park Harness Racing Club will turn red after signing a four-year major sponsorship agreement with Ladbrokes.
The new agreement, which will take effect from today is the largest sponsorship deal in the history of The Creek, which dates back to 1968.
It will also see Ladbrokes become the official naming rights sponsor of the Ladbrokes Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast next March as well as the connected feature two and three-year-old races.
“We are thrilled to welcome onboard the Entain Group through its premium online wagering brand, Ladbrokes,” Albion Park Harness Racing Club Chairman Brad Steele said.
“This partnership is a huge boost not only for our club, but the industry as a whole.
“The Creek is the leading metropolitan harness race club in Queensland, conducting over 150 meetings each year. We race at Albion Park almost every Saturday night, with our midweek programs usually on a Tuesday and Friday.
“The new deal gives our club certainty both for the near term but also into the future as we look to relocate to a new centre of excellence.”
As the club’s major sponsor, Ladbrokes, which is headquartered in Brisbane, has assumed naming rights to a number of premium Constellations Carnival fixtures next winter, including the Blacks A Fake, Queensland Oaks and the Queensland Derby.
“These are time-honoured, premier events which Ladbrokes is proud to be associated with,” Ladbrokes CEO Dean Shannon said.
“Ladbrokes is a proudly racing-led brand and this deal continues our long history of backing the racing industry and its participants.
“Our company is delighted to be the official naming rights sponsor of Albion Park Harness Racing Club, the majority of its feature races as well as the Ladbrokes Sunshine Stars Yearling Sales and we look forward to working with the Club to grow the sport into the future.”
