Bowen Turf Club meeting rescheduled to Townsville

The Bowen Turf Club TAB race meeting on Friday, February 3 has been rescheduled to the Townsville Turf Club.

Bowen’s Ben Bolt racecourse has received more than 900mm rainfall in January, including 120mm last Friday and Saturday.

Further rain has fallen on Tuesday night, making the Bowen track unsuitable to race on.  Further rainfall is forecast for later today.

Due to the rescheduling, there have been some amendments to race distances.

The rail position is out 6 metres from 1000m to the winning post, and 3.5 metres for the remainder of the course. This will allow 14 starters from the 1400m,  13 starters from the 1300m and 1200m, and 12 starters from the 1000m.

  • Open Hcp - 1200m
  • Class 6 Plate - 1400m (was 1470m)
  • Class 4 Hcp - 1000m (was 1100m)
  • Class 3 Hcp - 1300m (was 1280m)
  • Class 1 Hcp - 1000m
  • Benchmark 55 Hcp - 1400m (was 1470m)
  • Maiden Hcp - 1200m
  • QTIS 3YO Maiden Hcp - 1000m (was 1100m)

Acceptances close at 9am, Wednesday, February 1. 

Apprentice claim for this meeting will remain as previously advertised – Country.

Acceptances already lodged for the Bowen meeting will carry over for the rescheduled Townsville meeting. If a trainer has already accepted and does not wish to start at Townsville, please contact RA and cancel.

There will be no scratching fees charged at this meeting due to the rescheduling.
