Lily Ofthe Glen is coming off a last start second to the Roy Chillemi-trained Higher Realm in a 1000 metre Open Handicap at Townsville on January 21.
“She led that day against Higher Realm when we tried to hold her up,” Miller said.
“Because she’s had a wind operation in the past she can’t be held up and likes to run along.
“I think she’ll run 1100 metres later on and she might even get 1200 metres.”
Miller plans to give Lily Ofthe Glen one more start before giving her a break to prepare for the northern winter carnival.
“I think she’ll make an ideal type for the Cairns Lightning later in the carnival so she’ll have one more run after this and go out for a break,” he said.
Miller also is hopeful about the prospects of Conquered Journey in the QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap over 1200 metres.
Conquered Journey has started only five times for two minor placings including a last start third behind the Fred Wieland-trained Borgov in a 1200 metre maiden at Townsville last week.
“His last run was very good and he’s going to be a fair horse once the penny drops with him,” Miller said.
“He’s a big dummy at the moment and is still learning.”
