RACE ONE
GLENEAGLE REIGN (5) was safely away from the 10m tape last start in pressing forward to find the front. Trying to see it out, he was collared in the stretch to be 4m in arrears of the winner RAZZLEME DAZZLEME. A smart effort when resuming from a spell two runs back, this looks ideal. DEXTROUS DEXTER (4) tackled the mobile conditions last start when finding the pocket trail and finishing the best of the chasers behind IM A GYPSY QUEEN. He gets back behind the tapes following four runs behind the start car and with a safe getaway will be there to challenge. MISS MEMPHIS (3) has placed twice in three appearances since returning this season, the latest when well covered as IM A GYPSY QUEEN dominated. A safe start can see her grab a cheque. SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE REIGN (5), DEXTROUS DEXTER (4), MISS MEMPHIS (3) SUGGESTED BET: GLENEAGLE REIGN (5) to win
RACE TWO Giving away plenty of experience to his rivals in this contest, GUS (1) will be chasing redemption after making an error last start. That was his second Qld appearance and was facing a 40m impost. A smart winner first up off 30m, he should be taking this if chasing the bigger targets on his radar. KAR MANOR (7) was safely away and as the field settled in single file order through the first 1000m, had settled 3rd before popping out to led the one wide line through the last lap. Putting them away to claim a smart 5m margin, a small field here can see him make a strong play once again. BOURBONONTHEROCKS (3) was returning from a spell last start when settled behind the leader and just lost some momentum waiting for the passing lane when 3rd to KAR MANOR. Added fitness helps. MILLY AN EYRE (2) was tucked away here last start and picked off some late ground to be just behind the placings at her first run for the new stable. A cheap trip aids her chances. SELECTIONS: GUS (1), KAR MANOR (7), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (3), MILLY AN EYRE (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE Buried in the run last start and never a factor thereafter, SET ME FREE (3) looks better suited by the conditions here. At her best when able to roll along, a safe start can see her pounce on a prominent position. Forced to chase in recent starts, this might just be her chance to cash in. AURORA (1) is the most experienced runner in the field and despite being on a win drought, finds the right set up here to turn it around. Finding the trail soon after the start last time, she was left flat off the 400 when the power went on. Her usual safe start puts her right in the fight. SUPPLANTER (2) has placed at his past two starts, the latest when best of the chasers behind FENOMENAL. Finding a spot near the pointy end in transit will be a big plus. CONNIES PRESIDENT (8) broke the maiden tag last start when stepping straight to the front and from there was never headed. With further experience, he can feature again. SELECTIONS: SET ME FREE (3), AURORA (1), SUPPLANTER (2), CONNIES PRESIDENT (8) SUGGESTED BET: SET ME FREE (3) to win
RACE FOUR
Heading into his debut performance back in April, FACT FINDER (2) had trialled in nice order but was slammed with the outside front line gate. Pressing on to take control, he faded in the later stages to a midfield finish. Freshened since that run, the improved gate gives him the chance to capitalise. FORCE FULL (7) started deep into the red last start from gate 5 where he was asked to sit parked. Grinding it out in finishing 5m from the winner and out of the money, it followed a tidy effort on debut. With the added experience, he can throw it down again here. DENIS THE PUNTER (4) has shown steady improvement to grab the silver at his past two, the latest when trying to take them all the way. Settling handy, he will be thereabouts. WHATA LEGACY (6) started from inside the second line last start and was angled off the inside early to the running line to grab 3rd behind MAJORITA JUJON. With the right trip he has similar claims. SELECTIONS: FACT FINDER (2), FORCE FULL (7), DENIS THE PUNTER (4), WHATA LEGACY (6) SUGGESTED BET: FACT FINDER (2) to win
RACE FIVE Still chasing his first win since crossing the Tasman, THE BEAUDEN BLUES (4) has been firm in the market in all three appearances, the past two from the second line. Three-wide the last 800 last week and under 2m from the winner, he can get forward to take them all the way. GOLDEN BAY (6) was sitting in the trail last start until a saloon passage at the bell saw him dart through and claim the front. Seeing it out thereafter in claiming a half-neck margin, it followed a tough run behind subsequent winner ARODA. The wide gate hurts but he continues to build. SKY BLU (8) will strip fitter from her latest outing where she was first up from a spell. Tackling he middle trip when sent forward to set the speed, she could not see it out. The mapping hurts here. BRILLIANT ART (5) was wide off the track last start and could not reel I the deficit as INTO THE MYSTIC took the prize up the passing lane. The gate makes it a little tricky again here. SELECTIONS: THE BEAUDEN BLUES (4), GOLDEN BAY (6), SKY BLU (8), BRILLIANT ART (5) SUGGESTED BET: THE BEAUDEN BLUES (4) to win
RACE SIX The winner of one from 16 here at The Creek, BLACKJACK BETH (3) will also get beyond the mile for the first time. Worried out of last start when beaten a head behind BATMAN BART after setting the tempo, she was under 2m from the winner two back. If she can run the trip, she will be hard to stop. LANCELOT BROMAC (9) can press through in the early stages o maintain a running line position and is the type that could just keep chasing. Buried in the run last start as NEPTUNE blitzed them in the last 8090 from the front, this race is far more suitable for the old boy to challenge. SHEZ GOT BLING (1) was asked to graft it out first over last time out at Redcliffe and faded after the tough trip. Back to soft trip behind the speed here, look for her to make a late raid. EMPRESS BYELINE (6) takes her first look beyond the mile here at HQ which does pose a few questions. Not much went right last start behind GOLDEN BAY and she stays in contention. SELECTIONS: BLACKJACK BETH (3), LANCELOT BROMAC (9), SHEZ GOT BLING (1), EMPRESS BYELINE (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN With a much-improved effort last start over this trip, AMAMI (5) might have worked himself back into the form required to cash in here. Sitting parked and grafting it out for 2nd place, it followed a luckless effort two runs back. Nothing looks clear-cut in a contest that is within his reach. LUKE JOHN (11) eased from gate 5 last start and was trying to make late ground when well held behind SURE THING CAPTAIN. Not too far from the winner SIR RICHARD LEE two starts back, this could be a messy mid-race map and with even luck, he is right in the fight. LANAI (9) was second up from a spell last start when firing out from three to set the tempo. Fighting hard in holding on for the silver, he can follow through early to feature. BETTING ORIGIN (6) faces an ask from the wide gate but brings a dominant last start Redcliffe win to the table. Forcing the issue there to get forward, he has claims once again. SELECTIONS: AMAMI (5), LUKE JOHN (11), LANAI (9), BETTING ORIGIN (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT He receives no favours from the outside alley, but SURF ACE (7) might have found the right opposition to bounce back into winning form. Too far back as SWAYZEE carved out a 2138 track record from the front last start, he can descend on them. BITCOIN (10) showed what difference a gate can make when capitalising from the ace here last week to dictate over the mile in veteran’s company. Back to the second line here, he can build off the confidence builder to issue a challenge. ALTA SENSATION (1) faces a rise in class to tackle this up to 90 but has that offset by the gate. Tightened from his last start where he was resuming, he can feature. HY VOLTAGE (8) will be needing a slice of luck at some stage as he looks set to be snookered. He can get keen which many be of detriment from this gate, but if a gap arrives, he can be featuring. SELECTIONS: SURF ACE (7), BITCOIN (10), ALTA SENSATION (1), HY VOLTAGE (8) SUGGESTED BET: SURF ACE (7) to win
RACE NINE Runner-up in both appearances since arriving in Brisbane, ALWAYS SMOKIN (1) lands the ideal conditions to go one better. Forced three wide and then around to sit parked the last 1000m here last week when a brave 2nd, he closed out hard when first up and gets the chance to dictate. MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (8) looks set to secure the perfect trip behind the speed and will be awaiting the lane to see if he can make any ground in issuing a challenge. Overcoming gate 5 last start on The Tringle to rattle home for the prize, he will be stalking. FOVEAUX MAJOR (9) was runner-up last start when taking a shot up the passing lane. A Redcliffe winner four runs back, the fence might be the right place for this battle for him to grab a cheque. RIVERINA FLASH (10) heads to the big deck for his first attempt after competing at Redcliffe in recent outings. With a run of tough gates, he lands another tricky one here, but can lob a minor. SELECTIONS: ALWAYS SMOKIN (1), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (8), FOVEAUX MAJOR (9), RIVERINA FLASH (10) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 8-9 / 2-4-9-10
RACE TEN
Given no favours from the outside alley as a 3YO filly tackling all comers, TIN TIN JO (7) brings the right credentials to stake a serious claim. Pressing forward to take them all the way at Menangle last time, she was beaten in red figures in the Canberra Cup two starts back. BIG SHADOW (10) has been runner-up in two of his past three, an all the way victory sandwiched in between. Trying to launch a passing lane raid when 3m from BEACH VILLA in a 70Final last start, he will be relying on some tempo to issue a challenge. SOME CHEVRON (4) takes his first look at The Creek off the back of a disappointing effort last start at Penrith. A slick winner two back at the same venue, he is in the mix. KING OF TRUMPS (1) was beaten by a second line gate last time but still closed smartly behind CLASSIE WASHINGTON. Placed both previous runs, the fence trip here will suit. SELECTIONS: TIN TIN JO (7), BIG SHADOW (10), SOME CHEVRON (4), KING OF TRUMPS (1) SUGGESTED BET: TIN TIN JO (7) to win
RACE ELEVEN
Facing a significant class drop to find his way into this race, ABOUTTIME (11) can defy the second line gate to get a Qld win on the board in his second attempt. Tackling the Lucky Creed last start when under 5m from BIG WHEELS, he should have too much firepower for this line up. TAIRLAW TOLL (9) is chasing a hat-trick after wins from gate 10 and gate 4 at his past two attempts. Sent to the front to take them all the way last time in a career PB, it followed a win when descending late. Pressing through early, he can be making a late raid to challenge. TIZ A SIZZLER (12) eased from gate 7 last start in veterans’ company before making some nice metres in the closing stages for 3rd to BITCOIN. The extreme ally makes it another tough ask. GLENLEDI BOY (1) loves a fence trip and should be tucked in behind the speed ready for the gaps here. Too far back at his past two, he will be probing for the openings. SELECTIONS: ABOUTTIME (11), TAIRLAW TOLL (9), TIZ A SIZZLER (12), GLENLEDI BOY (1) SUGGESTED BET: ABOUTTIME (11) to win
