RACE ONE
ALTANA BLUE (4) was sent around them in the early stages from a second line gate over the AP 2138 last start and with a pile of pressure through the first 700m, had the task ahead of him. Unable to sustain it and fading out, a return to Marburg where he is a five-time winner and to the tapes looks ideal. KEAYANG TARA (3) has been on a run of consistent form as she chases an elusive first win for the season. Looking to take them all the way last time out when setting the speed but collared by ROCKNROLL DA GAMA in the closing strides, she has been runner-up in both stand attempts. DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (1) tackles a tougher AP battle last time out where she was snagged back to the fence and then did not finish too far from QUIK CHANGE. A safe start will ser her right in this. MAJORDOIT (10) is the class of the field but a 20m impost in a full field on the tight track makes it a big ask. A smart 3rd behind APHORISM last start, if he can get around them cheaply, he is right in it. SELECTIONS: ALTANA BLUE (4), KEAYANG TARA (3), DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (1), MAJORDOIT (10) SUGGESTED BET: ALTANA BLUE (4) to win
RACE TWO ROCKTIME (1) was asked to sit parked last start over the 1780 at Redcliffe and after the tough trip faded in the closing stages. Runner-up four runs back behind ISLA AND ADDIE which had followed a 3rd to TRUE ORIGINS, he comes up with the gate and opposition to capitalise for the maiden breaker. ENZED FLYER (6) was 3rd here on debut five runs back when finding the pocket trail from gate 3. Best of the rest behind the subsequent winner SHES IN LINE at Redcliffe two runs back, he maps for the soft trip in behind the speed and will be probing for the openings. STAR KISSER (7) will be first up since Nov 2020 after placing on two occasions that season. With some runs at the show over the past three weeks, he can feature in this. MONTANA ONE (2) was locked away on the poles last start and when finding a split, worked home soundly for the bronze. He can settle handy to grab another minor here. SELECTIONS: ROCKTIME (1), ENZED FLYER (6), STAR KISSER (7), MONTANA ONE (2) SUGGESTED BET: ROCKTIME (1) to win
RACE THREE RISKY BUZINESS (7) found the front before taking cover last time out at Redcliffe and battled to the line when midfield behind subsequent winner KHULAN KID. Collared in the closing stages when leading two starts back and holding 3rd, despite a second line gate, this looks within reach. DALLAS COWGIRL (4) will be second up from a spell and although does not receive any favours from the wider alley, this race looks a wide-open contest. Midfield last start when returning from a spell, she will be fresh up from that return run and with the right trip is up to issuing a challenge. WHATA REACTOR (8) faced a second line gate last time out and was trying to make late metres when 6m adrift of the winner ROLLONX. Winless on this deck from 11 attempts, she has podium claims. THE MACH ARMY (6) was runner-up two starts back at Redcliffe when making a late raid as WHATA REACTOR cashed in. Likely to be locked away, he will be searching for gaps to grab a minor. SELECTIONS: RISKY BUZINESS (7), DALLAS COWGIRL (4), WHATA REACTOR (8), THE MACH ARMY (6) SUGGESTED BET: RISKY BUZINESS (7) to win
RACE FOUR
MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (7) had put in some performances that suggested he was not too far off a winning performance and then last start at Redcliffe, he overcame the second line when descending on them in the closing stages to score his first win of the season. He can build off that again here. MISS PAU (2) has placed once in her five attempts here at the Little M, that being her most recent outing here three runs back. Finishing a neck from the winner in that event after racing in the trail, a return to the front line where she can show her early hustle gives her the chance to throw it down. CIRCLE LINE (5) keeps on keeping on and has placed at three of his past four starts. Using the passing lane at HQ last start to grab the bronze, he will need to do it the tough way here to feature. OUR DOLLY (8) was chasing a hat-trick two starts back when asked to grind it out from gate 4 but after the hard run, could not finish it off. The second line makes it another tough ask here. SELECTIONS: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (7), MISS PAU (2), CIRCLE LINE (5), OUR DOLLY (8) SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (7) to win
RACE FIVE GETALOADATHISBRO (2) has good arm hustle and will need to be wound up to fire out and look for the lamp lighting duties. Not too far from the winner at his past two starts, he has an impressive record here at Marburg where he has won four of six appearances and can take his shot for five. BUKTHSYSTEM (1) settled in the running line last start and chased when finishing in the second half of the pack behind BATED BREATH. A four-time winner on this deck, he can look to burrow through and protect the poles but if crossed, will be probing for the openings. DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (6) will need a rub of the green at some stage as she is set to be snookered in the run. Hitting the board in 7 of 10 on this track which includes one win, she will be probing. CHOCOLATE NORMAN (3) struck trouble in a much tougher contest last start over the AP mile which had followed successive placings. Still giving away plenty of experience, he has podium claims here. SELECTIONS: GETALOADATHISBRO (2), BUKTHSYSTEM (1), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (6), CHOCOLATE NORMAN (3) SUGGESTED BET: GETALOADATHISBRO (2) to win
RACE SIX MELTON INSULTED (7) settled in the 1x1 trail last start on The Triangle but could not get warm over the latter stages as subsequent winner OOGA CHAKA powered home late to scire. Not too far away the start prior when midfield, she can follow through in the early stages here and look to capitalise. MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (2) went past 2 months since his last victory and since returning from a spell has been nearer the rear than the money end in seven outings. A three-time winner on this deck, he lands the gate to look for the front and with limited pressure, gets a chance to turn it around. DEECEE ROCKIN (3) eased from gate 4 last time out over the 1660 at The Creek and from back in the pack, was chasing as SAN MAREA claimed a smart win. He can be handy enough to feature. CONVAIR HUSTLER (6) returns to Qld and this time links with the Ryan Veivers stable. Approaching 12 months since he last tasted victory, he will be searching for openings to chime in here. SELECTIONS: MELTON INSULTED (7), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (2), DEECEE ROCKIN (3), CONVAIR HUSTLER (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN ONE LAST ROLL (1) was a winner here four runs back when forcing the issue from gate 2, finding the front and once in control, holding on to claim a 2m margin. Runner-up to MACARENA MADI two starts back, that form has been franked and he snares the gate to burrow through and fight them off. MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9) was trying to make a passing lane raid last start when midfield behind the smart THE VICAR OF DIBLEY. Too keen and wilting late in a second division qualifier two starts back, the gate makes it a tough ask, yet he can get into the battle to issue the challenge. TURBO TOMMY (6) will be first up in Qld for Taleah McMullen and arrives with successive placings from his pasty two starts. With a sound trial effort to prepare, he will be searching for open space. COPY WRITER (2) was chasing off the second line when holding 3rd behind ONE LAST ROLL here three runs back. Hitting the line strongly last start at Redcliffe wide out to score, she is right in this. SELECTIONS: ONE LAST ROLL (1), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9), TURBO TOMMY (6), COPY WRITER (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-9
