Rachael Singleton has visited the winner’s stall four times in her brief time as a one-horse trainer and is hopeful Foxy Fraulien can make it five at Kilcoy on Tuesday.
The Gold Coast-based Singleton only began training 18 months ago after working as a stable hand for Canberra trainer Mark Dale.
The 37-year-old bought Fox Fraulien for $1,500 off Victorian trainer Steven Noble mainly because of her pedigree, being a daughter of Foxwedge.
“She’s only little and would be lucky to stand 15 hands and she’s been a nightmare to train as she’s hot headed and fizzy,” Singleton said.

Foxy Fraulien gave Singleton her first winner as a trainer when she won her maiden at the Gold Coast in July last year.
The five-year-old has since gone on to win a further three times including a 1500 metre Class 2 event at Kilcoy in March.
It was her only Kilcoy appearance when she led all the way for apprentice Cody Collis.
This time Singleton has booked her partner, Wanderson D'Avila, in the Benchmark 60 Handicap over 1500 metres.
Foxy Fraulien’s recent form has been mixed, beating one home at Gatton over 1400 metres, before a close second in a 1710 metre Class 4 race at Ipswich on September 25.
At her last start she failed when she led and weakened to finish near the tail enders over 1700 metres at Ipswich on October 18.
“The track was too hard for her last start,” Singleton said.
“She missed the kick and had to rush forward to lead but her rider said she had the hand brake on all the way.
“I’m sending her to Kilcoy because she won her only start there and I think she’ll be very competitive again. Every time I’ve freshened her she’s raced well.”
Foxy Fraulien had never been tried past 1200 metres when Singleton bought her but she’s always felt she’d run further.
Her judgement proved correct when Foxy Fraulien won her maiden over 1700 metres at the Gold Coast.
