RACE ONE
First up in Qld two starts back and asked to sit parked, TUMULT (7) proved too strong and was able to grind out a 2m margin to defeat KODA DA MODA after starting on equal terms. Beaten the handicap by that same trotter last week, they are back on terms here and look the two. KODA DA MODA (6) was also first up in Qld when trying to issue the closing raid and coming up just short of victory behind TUMULT. Turning the tables here last week when starting with a 10m advantage, they are back to equal terms and can look to fight it out. ALDEBARAN FONZ (2) is showing good improvement at each outing and has now placed in three of his five career starts. Holding on for 3rd last time, he can be thereabouts. BURKHARDT (4) could be the improver after making a mess of his first Qld appearance when not moving when the tapes released. Back to the trials with a tidy effort, he has claims.
SELECTIONS: TUMULT (7), KODA DA MODA (6), ALDEBARAN FONZ (2), BURKHARDT (4) SUGGESTED BET: TUMULT (7) to win
RACE TWO
The conditions of these races are working out ideally for JUST CALL ME MOLLY (2) who has been able to win two of her past three starts and snares the same 10m tape once again. Sitting in the trail and pulling clear to score here last week, the same scenario looks on offer. HAMMER SON (4) was hitting the line in nice style last start, finishing 4m from the winner JUST CALL ME MOLLY. With three runs back from a spell, he has shown the right improvement at each outing and with the right trip can be issuing a closing challenge once again. IGNITE (9) has been racing in the 55 to 75 company off the front tape at his past four starts and drops into the lower tier but with that comes the 30m impost. He will be chasing hard. ITSARAPT (8) has placed at his past two starts, the latest when sitting parked and working hard when holding the bronze behind JUST CALL ME MOLLY. Improving at every run, he is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: JUST CALL ME MOLLY (2), HAMMER SON (4), IGNITE (9), ITSARAPT (8) SUGGESTED BET: JUST CALL ME MOLLY (2) to win
RACE THREE
Continuing his super performance since arriving in Qld, ITSALLANDOVER (3) claimed his 5th win here at The Creek last start when pressing forward in the closing stages and claiming a 4m margin. Holding on for the bronze two starts back, he can be close enough to repeat his efforts. KENNY KEKO (4) will take further benefit from her latest appearance where she was second up after being off the scene for over 12 months. Resuming with a first up 3rd to NORTIE NORTIE, she was chasing as were they all behind DEFENSIVE GUY last time. REGAL APPOINTMENT (1) overcame the 30m tape two starts back when finishing best to take a 4m margin. Unable to see it out in the higher grade here last start, he will go close again here. KINGDOM COME (7) came off this same mark last week and moved up in the run to do the work and was still giving to hold 2nd behind ITSALLANDOVER. With safe manners, he can feature.
SELECTIONS: ITSALLANDOVER (3), KENNY KEKO (4), REGAL APPOINTMENT (1), KINGDOM COME (7) SUGGESTED BET: ITSALLANDOVER (3) to win
RACE FOUR
In a capacity field over the middle trip, there will be a few of these runners that will be feeling the pinch in the stretch. SHEZ ALL STYLE (6) is likely not to be one of those, as she has winning form over this trip and has placed at her past two starts. The wide gate stings, but she is up to it. THE JANITOR (12) was making his race debut last start when sent to the post as the fave from gate 2. Making an error soon after the start, he is faced with the ODM embargo which shunts him to outside the second line in the full field. He can bounce back to issue the challenge. WESTERN ACTION (11) has two wins in his past three starts here at HQ, both when working home off the speed. Overcoming gate 7 at the mile last start, he is right in the fight. MISS PAU (1) has all the advantages from this alley and has been racing consistently in this grade with four placings from her past five starts. Runner-up here three back, she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: SHEZ ALL STYLE (6), THE JANITOR (12), WESTERN ACTION (11), MISS PAU (1) SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ ALL STYLE (6) to win
RACE FIVE
Sent forward from this same gate last start, TAKE A CHANCE (4) found the front and was trying to fight the challengers when grabbed in the closing stages to hold on for the silver. That took his record to a frustrating five placings without victory on this deck, but he has the chance to amend that here. PUSHINIT UPHILL (10) looks the best of the off-pace chasers if the tempo is too hot up front. Beaten for early speed two starts back, he eased off into the running line and descended to claim victory. Rattling late from deep field last start, he can throw it down here. ROLLED IN GOLD (2) was runner-up here last start when settled in the trail and taking the gaps late to be 5m from YANKEE C J. Settling handy too the action can see her in the mix. JAY TEE TYRON (5) was sent forward from gate 7 here last start at the 2138 to take control. Holding on for 2nd as FACT FINDER pulled clear to a huge margin, he can press forward again.
SELECTIONS: TAKE A CHANCE (4), PUSHINIT UPHILL (10), ROLLED IN GOLD (2), JAY TEE TYRON (5) SUGGESTED BET: PUSHINIT UPHILL (10) win/place
RACE SIX
First up in Qld here last week when faced with an awkward draw, SIR BRIGADOON (2) eased to find position. With a strong tempo in front, he charged home in the closing stages to claim an impressive victory. With the chance to find the poles, he can go back-to-back. PYRRHIC DANCER (9) made it four on the bounce last start to remain undefeated since arriving in Qld. Settling in the 1x1 trail and powering home over the top, he secured a new PB. The second line makes it a tough ask, but he has proven to be versatile enough to throw it down. JUSTROLLINGAROUND (1) tackled a mare’s event on Saturday night where she was only 6m astern of the winner PLAYA BLANCA. Tucked in behind the speed, she can be chiming in. YANKEE C J (7) is afforded no favours from the wide gate as he chases a hat-trick of wins. Finishing best from the second line last start, he can be chiming in again here.
SELECTIONS: SIR BRIGADOON (2), PYRRHIC DANCER (9), JUSTROLLINGAROUND (1), YANKEE C J (7) SUGGESTED BET: SIR BRIGADOON (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
With two wins in his three career starts, DEFENCE ATTORNEY (5) looks to have his share of ability. Starting a red figure fav last start, he was able to dodge a scrimmage and despite the evasive measures stayed composed to claim a narrow victory. The form has been franked from that contest and he can capitalise. OUR INDIFFERENCE (8) has started three times since arriving in Qld and returned a pair of wins sitting either side of a 3rd behind INTO THE MYSTIC. Both wins have come when starting from this same gate and both where he eased off the inside to finish wide out. He can challenge again. PERFECT TREND (2) fired out from this same gate last start to take control and from the front was able to see it out and claim her first win since arriving in Qld. She has the gate to feature. MIGHTY GEORGE (1) was a winner here two starts back when charging home over the top of them in the closing stages. Tucked in behind the speed, he can make a late raid here.
SELECTIONS: DEFENCE ATTORNEY (5), OUR INDIFFERENCE (8), PERFECT TREND (2), MIGHTY GEORGE (1) SUGGESTED BET: DEFENCE ATTORNEY (5) to win
RACE EIGHT
The drop back to Tuesday veterans company looks the ideal tonic for SEND IT (6) to return to winning form after competing through the Inter Dominion and then FFA races in both outings since. Chasing LEAP TO FAME last start, the gate is not ideal, but he should be too slick. FIRESTORM RED (11) is first up in Qld after being sent North to the Dwyer stable. A beaten fav last start at Menangle when 8m from the winner SAHARA SIROCCO, the second line makes it a tough ask but bringing form against some slick performers, he can challenge. COMMODORE JUJON (1) fired out from gate 3 last start to take control and from the front was gripping on when 3rd behind JAZZY STAR. With all the options, he will be right in the fight. TAIRLAW TOLL (9) resumes from a spell after squeezing into the ID Series where he found them a little too tough. Back to this grade first up suits and he can be in the mix.
SELECTIONS: SEND IT (6), FIRESTORM RED (11), COMMODORE JUJON (1), TAIRLAW TOLL (9) SUGGESTED BET: SEND IT (6) to win
