RACE ONE
A 4YO mare on debut for Joedy Whitaker, ELEGANT GROOVES (3) is a nicely bred mare by the ill-fated American Ideal, out of the Group 1 winning mare Get In The Groove. With a sharp piece of work to earn the race ticket, she can look to start her career in style. IDEAL PERFECTION (5) is first up for the Dwyer stable, the 4YO mare arriving with a 2nd placing on debut at Charlton back in April. With a tidy trial hit out in readiness for the first run in the Sunshine State, he can be thereabouts. ANYTHINGFORADOLLAR (2) was beaten by the outside front line at Marburg last start when eased from the start and unable to get warm. Settling close will help. JOE CAVALIER (4) was first up in Qld off a long spell last start when finishing near the rear and a long way from the winner. The added fitness will help his chances.
SELECTIONS: ELEGANT GROOVES (3), IDEAL PERFECTION (5), ANYTHINGFORADOLLAR (2), JOE CAVALIER (4) SUGGESTED BET: ELEGANT GROOVES (3) to win
RACE TWO
After a super impressive debut performance where he went super time after a tough trip, HOT ROD HARRY (7) was banished to the trials second up after getting it all wrong. Setting a slick tempo last start when sent to the front from gate 6 but collared late, he can bounce back here. DONTTELLMEAGAIN (2) fired off the arm last start to set the tempo and was only collared in the closing stages when tackling a race with far more experienced rivals. Just a half-neck from the winner, she can get forward here to issue a challenge. APRIL IN PARIS (4) broke maiden ranks at Redcliffe two starts back when finishing over the top of them after starting from a second line gate. Beaten by gate 6 last start, she can chime in. MAJORITA JUJON (1) has the ideal gate at her first run back as a 3YO after a tidy 2YO season of 9: 1-1-4. The chance to tuck in behind the speed and just look to sprint home puts her in the mix.
SELECTIONS: HOT ROD HARRY (7), DONTTELLMEAGAIN (2), APRIL IN PARIS (4), MAJORITA JUJON (1) SUGGESTED BET: HOT ROD HARRY (7) to win
RACE THREE
Faced with this same gate last start, SHESA POCKETROCKET (9) was trying to launch a closing raid when starting fav but out of the money in a blanket finish behind FANTASY BLASTER. Best of the chasers when runner-up to ROCKNROLL DA GAMA two back, she can arrive in this. CRIME TIME (5) has grabbed the bronze at each of his past two appearances, the latest when asked to hang tough and grind out a 3m deficit behind FANTASY BLASTER. A tough effort two back from gate 6, he can get handy to throw it down once again. SAINT LOUIS BEAT (4) eased from gate 3 last start to settle rearward at Redcliffe before picking off some closing metres for a midfield return. He can settle closer here to join in. LONDON LADY (8) found the poles first last start before opting for the trail and trying to weave through a gap was able to grab the silver. She will be probing for gaps again here.
SELECTIONS: SHESA POCKETROCKET (9), CRIME TIME (5), SAINT LOUIS BEAT (4), LONDON LADY (8) SUGGESTED BET: SHESA POCKETROCKET (9) to win
RACE FOUR
Fired off the arm last start, CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (1) was trying to see it out from this same alley when collared late and missing the money. A tough winner at Redcliffe three runs back, he can burrow through again and secures his chance to gain redemption. CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD (2) was sent to the post as fav last start and after an early dip for the lamp lighting duties that was repelled, missed the money from the 1x1 trail. A passing lane winner at Redcliffe four back, he will be taking an early look to issue the challenge. CERTAINLYCALLITIN (8) worked home strongly wide off the track last start at Marburg to claim a tidy win off the back of a handy 3rd on this deck. The soft trip appeals. FUNNILY ENOUGH (4) was chasing a hat-trick last start when striking trouble. Leading throughout in both victories, he can get forward here to feature.
SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (1), CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD (2), CERTAINLYCALLITIN (8), FUNNILY ENOUGH (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE
First up for the new stable last start, FANTASY BLASTER (3) was sent straight to the front and was able to grip on for a narrow victory. Taking some confidence from that win, she can look to find the front again and fight them off. TAKE A CHANCE (7) is on the back-up from Tuesday where he was trying to repel the challengers but was collared on the wire by ROLLED IN GOLD which had the sit on him. Runner-up to the subsequent winner SIR BRIGADOON two back, he can throw it down again. FILLY THIRTEEN (1) tackled a mare’s qualifier at her last appearance of 2023 and from the trail was able to grab the silver. Down the line in both outings this year, she has the gate to feature. ARTS PEREGRINE (9) was runner-up here two starts back when best of the chasing pack behind the big winner MONTEREI DUKE. Luckless last start, he can be making a late raid.

RACE SIX

A beaten fav the start prior when asked to hang tough and finishing under 2m from the winner, he has the gate to dictate. MUSIC MOTH (8) was trying to take them all the way last start after darting across from gate 2 but she as unable to see it out. Runner-up in successive runs when trying to dictate three and four back, she lands the stalking spot here and doing the chasing can challenge. SAINT JUJON (9) franked the effort of a 3rd behind EAGLESPRIDE when finding the ideal conditions at Redcliffe and pulling clear to a huge victory. A peg trip here can see her chime in. RACE SEVEN
This is a solid 70Heat and should be a hard-fought contest. APOLLO DREAMZ (6) will take good benefit from his first up outing where he was asked to sit parked and then also had the impost of a flattened wheel. Still hanging on for the bronze, he can look to make a play here. THE BEAUDEN BLUES (8) will need a slice of luck from this alley to find clear space but if it arrives in time, he looms as a huge danger. Large in defeat last start in a 70Final when sent to the front midrace, he set the sub 52 tempo that BANGKOK DEEJAY arrived off. KICKATINALONGPONY (1) makes his first Qld appearance after his first two outings for the Dwyer stable were at Tamworth. With early speed, he has the options to chime in. LOUTENANT (10) made the most of a front-line gate last time out when sent to the front and remaining there throughout to claim a PB victory. Despite a tough alley, he can chime in.

SQUARE DEALER (1) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when taking the trail from the ace and then darting through on the passing lane. Wide off the track for a tidy 3rd last time at Marburg, a return to the front line is a big asset. TIMZEE (9) is crying out to snare a marble after facing a run of tough barriers. Chasing home along the inside last time, with the right early trail, he can be thereabouts. LUVBITE (7) claimed a Golden Guita heat at Tamworth two starts back before grabbing the bronze in the Final. The outside front line dents his hopes in this.
