The connections of young filly Indubitably had a couple of reasons to cheer when the three-year-old broke her maiden status at Beaudesert last month.

Gold Coast trainer Kurt Goldman has always had a fair opinion of the daughter of Dubious as he kicked off her career in the rich The Debut on Magic Millions day earlier this year.

It took three more race starts for Indubitably to score the first win of her career, which came at Beaudesert over 1100 metres on their local Cup day in early July.

The Goldman-prepared filly is raced by an all-ladies syndicate which includes high-profile Australian lawyer Jennifer Robinson.

Robinson - a human rights lawyer and barrister - is the long-time legal counsel of the Townsville-born Julian Assange.

Indubitably scored at Beaudesert just a few days after Assange returned to Australia alongside Robinson.

Goldman believes there is higher honours on the agenda for Indubitably as he thinks she can shape up to city grade through the back end of 2024.

Following the Beaudesert breakthrough, Indubitably went straight to town and finished midfield over 1350 metres.

She had a short freshen up following that Doomben effort and should be at the races once again soon.

“She is back in work now and we will take our time to try and pick off a few little off-season metropolitan races with her,” Goldman said.

“We would love to chase some more QTIS money with her.

“Hopefully we can have her back and ready for the Magic Millions in January.

“I don’t think she is up to the Guineas but there will be a race there for her next year on the day.”

The Robinson family is steeped in racing history with Jennifer's brother Dane employed as Magic Millions’ Bloodstock Manager.

Dane and Jennifer’s father is Group-winning New South Wales horse trainer Terry Robinson.

Terry is the son of the late Inter Dominion-winning harness trainer Kevin.

Indubitably was ridden by boom apprentice hoop Jace McMurray in her stylish maiden victory.

While trainer Goldman was pleased to win the race generally, he was also happy to see a long-term plan executed.

Goldman has lived and trained in the Sunshine State for the past year after relocating north from Goulburn.

“We were very happy and for me moving here – this is the first QTIS filly that I had bought up here,” he said.

“It was a bit of an idea to put a female syndicate together and she was always a precocious two-year-old type which obviously showed that we bought her at the May sales and got her to The Debut race on Magic Millions day.

“That was fantastic to get there and a lot of the girls in the horse came that day.

“She went out for a spell after that and I have a bit of time for the filly herself – I think she has quite a lot of natural ability and we definitely haven’t put any pressure on her just yet.

“She is doing everything at the minute on raw ability and I think winning that day at Beaudesert was fantastic and I think she will take a lot of confidence from that.

“I think she will only get better as she comes in for another preparation and probably has some blinkers applied.”

The connections of Indubitably are smiling as she has already earnt double what they paid for her at the sales with Goldman noting the ownership group are keen to buy into another youngster with his stable.

The Goldman team heads to the city on Saturday with Arts Object starting in the Open Handicap over 1630 metres with newly minted senior rider Cejay Graham in the saddle.

Arts Object caused an upset at the Gold Coast when the mare claimed The Wave earlier this year at a huge price.

The five-year-old Zoustar mare has not won in six starts since but Goldman thinks she is almost ready to produce her best.

“I think she is definitely getting closer to being back in the winners stall,” Goldman said.

“It has been a frustrating preparation with her. We kicked off in the middle of winter chasing some better stakes races to try and get some black-type next to her name.

“That did not work out in the better company. She has bounced out her run the other day at Grafton and has trialled well on Monday.

“I think she is not far off and should go close on Saturday.”

As of Friday morning, Arts Object is a $13 chance with bookmakers for her contest on Saturday.
