RACE ONE Missing the money just once this season, AGENT BLACK (6) resumes from a spell after his Constellations Campaign was curtailed following a lead up 3rd behind HEAD EM UP. Placed behind the star filly KEAYANG ZAHARA two starts back, he has trialled smartly for the return. NORTHERN HEIGHTS (8) was dominant against his own age last time when finding the front when the arms folded and pulling away to an effortless 11m margin. Runner-up in both prior starts which had followed his Springboard victory, if it come down to fitness, he can capitalise. MORE SURPRISES (9) has put it together and lines up with a pair of wins and a pair of placings in her past four starts. Powering home over the top last start, she can make a play once again. SNOWVANDOVA (7) broke maiden ranks three runs back when stepping to the front and never relinquishing. Placed in both since, she is a minor hope here. SELECTIONS: AGENT BLACK (6), NORTHERN HEIGHTS (8), MORE SURPRISES (9), SNOWVANDOVA (7) SUGGESTED BET: AGENT BLACK (6) to win
RACE TWO
MY RUMOUR HAS IT (10) is much better when able to get up near the action and will need to be safely away from the 30m for this contest. Chasing home behind the airborne HAMMER SON two starts back, she dictated when stepping straight to the front last start. This is still winnable. IGNITE (6) found the trail last start from the 10m tape and chased hard when just behind the money. Too far back in the pack the start prior, he has been showing steady improvement and with the right step can find the position to challenge in this line up. VOLTAIN (2) held on for the silver behind NORTHERN HEIGHTS last start from the mobile. Striking trouble in her previous two stand start appearances, the front tape advantage helps. NATTY PAGGER (8) was not far away here four runs back when chasing home behind MORE SURPISES. His numbers are not great, but the right trip in this line up can see him feature.
SELECTIONS: MY RUMOUR HAS IT (10), IGNITE (6), VOLTAIN (2), NATTY PAGGER (8) SUGGESTED BET: MY RUMOUR HAS IT (10) to win
RACE THREE
Well supported on debut where he tackled some handy campaigners, SUN WUKONG (9) was slowly away from the inside gate before moving around them at the 1200 to take control. Only 4m from GREAT ACHIEVER, the added experience and a return to maiden company is huge. VICTREE ATOM (5) was sent out as the fav last start when releasing and then chasing and finishing best of the rest behind MISS CRUNCHY. Placed in three of six, she can look for another podium return here. SAVAGE STORM (1) makes her first race appearance for Trent Dawson, the daughter of Ohoka Punter bringing a tidy trial effort. The gate is a big plus for the debutant. RUBY RULES (7) is also an Ohoka Punter filly on debut for Grant Dixon that trialled in good order in readiness for the start of her career. The gate dents the hopes first up.
SELECTIONS: SUN WUKONG (9), VICTREE ATOM (5), SAVAGE STORM (1), RUBY RULES (7) SUGGESTED BET: SUN WUKONG (9) to win
RACE FOUR
Rock hard fit and with handy figures from the stationary starting method, DESPONDENT (4) can look to fire away early here and thereafter have the options at his disposal. Never too far from the action, he might be able to sneak away with this one. ARODA (7) has faced the tapes just twice in his career, one of those when stepping to the front and leading throughout in the Redcliffe Cup. Fresh here after finishing down the line behind DON HUGO last time, this is a good starting point to a potential NZ Cup start. THROWYAARMSAROUNDME (8) was slowly into stride at his only Aus appearance from behind the tapes. Freshened since his last start 3rd behind SMIFFYS TERROR, he can be joining in late. MIRACLE MOOSE (1) finds suitable conditions here and with a safe getaway can find the right position in the run to chase a podium return.
SELECTIONS: DESPONDENT (4), ARODA (7), THROWYAARMSAROUNDME (8), MIRACLE MOOSE (1) SUGGESTED BET: DESPONDENT (4) win/place
RACE FIVE
The 2138 will likely be the biggest factor that most of the runners in this field will need to negotiate. HEAVENLY WISDOM (1) backs up off a last start victory where she eased from gate 5 and then finished best to score. With all the options, this is well within reach. HIGHVIEW SADLER (9) is one runner that will not be worried by the distance and was a gritty winner over this trip six runs back when rolling forward to sit parked. Placed at his next three in succession after that win, he can follow through to issue the challenge. JUSTROLLINGAROUND (10) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when taking her shot on the passing lane to arrive. Snagged back over this trip last start, she is a podium hope this time. BLUE BLOODZ (8) does not have the greatest figures beyond the mile but will benefit from a soft trip in behind the speed. Conserving in the run, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: HEAVENLY WISDOM (1), HIGHVIEW SADLER (9), JUSTROLLINGAROUND (10), BLUE BLOODZ (8) SUGGESTED BET: HIGHVIEW SADLER (9) win/place
RACE SIX Runner-up last start from outside the second line over the middle trip, IDEAL DESIRE (10) was sent forward and asked to work in the run when only collared in the last stride. Buried away the start prior, she finds the right conditions back to the mile to capitalise. LOVIN MISS DIXIE (1) pressed forward to take control here four starts back and from the front was able to see them off. Second line gates at her past three in succession have dented her chances and back to this gate, she can look to throw down the challenge. GINA DEL RAY (5) has been runner-up in three of her past five starts, all on The Triangle, the latest when taking a closing shot and finishing just a half-head away. She is a podium player. POWERMOVE (8) was a winner here three starts back when taking control and fighting them off to score. Unplaced in both runs since, she can be probing for the gaps here.
SELECTIONS: IDEAL DESIRE (10), LOVIN MISS DIXIE (1), GINA DEL RAY (5), POWERMOVE (8) SUGGESTED BET: IDEAL DESIRE (10) to win
RACE SEVEN This is quite the race for a Tuesday with a number of up and comers and some good form around them. If the map works to the favour of SHACKOUTTHEBACK (8), she can await the gap and slice through to take her shot. Strong when resuming and arriving last time, she can arrive. KELLOSHIEL (1) was sent out in red figures last start at her first Qld appearance off the back of an impressive trial. Fired up in the run which cost her the opportunity to complete the course, she has been back to the trials and from this alley can chase redemption in an open contest. OUR BENSON (10) made the perfect start to his Qld career when taking them all the way last time. This is harder and the gate makes it more so, but added fitness will aid the chances. MIKIBEQUICK (2) has ben a model of consistency, hitting the board at his past five in succession. A beaten fav from the second line last start, he is right in the fight.
SELECTIONS: SHACKOUTTHEBACK (8), KELLOSHIEL (1), OUR BENSON (10), MIKIBEQUICK (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-10
RACE EIGHT A hat-trick of victories in this grade beckons for TAIRLAW TOLL (7) who was able to overcome this same gate last week at the mile. Sent forward to do the heavy lifting outside the leader, he was able to grind I tout in a new PB. The threepeat is on. TARGARYEN (8) needed luck last week when sent out as the fav and finishing 5m from TAIRLAW TOLL. The same scenario presents once again, landing the same gate and needing luck to get the gap in time. If it arrives, he is up to the task. COPPERFIELD (9) was runner-up at his past two appearances in this grade and last start was searching for a gap when not that far from THE JANITOR. Look for him late. KICKATINALONGPONY (2) found the poles and then released here two starts back when holding on for the bronze and last tart was gunned down late. He can be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: TAIRLAW TOLL (7), TARGARYEN (8), COPPERFIELD (9), KICKATINALONGPONY (2) SUGGESTED BET: TAIRLAW TOLL (7) to win
RACE NINE A tricky one to close the day where MAJIC MOMENT (2) will be looking to improve on her figures that have seen her win two of 25 on this deck. Backing up from a mares contest on Saturday night where she slid back for position, she has the gate to take her shot. ROCKIN IN PARADISE (7) is chasing down a hat-trick after wins at the Redcliffe sprint and then here last week where powering home over the top. The wide gate stings, but with the right trip he can look to chase the threepeat. JACCKA COOPER (3) is a newcomer to Qld for the revitalised John Livingstone barn and arrives with a last start 2nd at Cambridge before crossing the Tasman. He stays under watch. FLO RYDA (1) does not have the greatest conversion rate here at The creek but does land the ace gate. A soft trip will aid his chances.
SELECTIONS: MAJIC MOMENT (2), ROCKIN IN PARADISE (7), JACCKA COOPER (3), FLO RYDA (1) SUGGESTED BET:
